Not long for you either Susie, wow 5 ltrs, you might find it hard to get in 1 after the op. I did notice a increase in going to the toilet, there must be something in them that helps that, as it suppose clear your liver.

Morning everyone. My 4 week post op update. I have lost 18kgs (7 pre op. 11 post op) I am happy with my weight loss but really thought I would lose more. Might need to rethink my diet and do more exercise (I must admit I have been slack in that department) I find it hard working 4 days and with a 2.5 yo. Any suggestions?

Hello how is everyone. To answer a few questions from the last few pages, yes my stomach always makes funny noises. DHS has a 10 day turn around for super release, I would definately be on there back to get it sorted. Would be great to meet a few of you, but have a linen party to go to, hope to get to meet you next time. Cookieeez I live in Bray Park. About 25 mins from Caboolture. I haven't been drinking a Protein Drink, as I can't stomach them, been trying to get most of my Protein from my food, but it has been hard.

Great to hear you are home kelliv. I have pain drinking and eating for at least the first 5 days. I can't remember when it disappeared. I can now take bigger sips of liquid but eating is still a chore. I forget to eat, plus I use to have a huge issue with portion control, when you start to to eat food, you will actually see how little you can eat then it becomes normal. I am in the same predicament with clothes, really need to go through my clothes too, trying to wear them as long ad I can. I also have some smaller sizes I have kept, hoping to fit those for a while until I run down to sizes I don't have. I am currently a size 26, but that loose. I have sizes down to 18. Some of those are pregnacy clothes though.

Hey Kelli, my dietitian was liquid for 2 weeks then minced and mashed for 2 weeks (that's what I am doing now until next Tuesday) then I go to a soft diet where I can start to increase my food variety. Still to avoid difficult foods on my lists, I basically can try nearly everything and just see how I feel. How are the liquids going, I was over them by the end of the first week. The food sensation is so different to drinking fluids, I am still trying to get use to it. But read something that now helps me. When I start to burp, it mean that my pouch is almost full as its pushing all the air up and out, usually after I burp I can have 1 or 2 more teaspoons.

Kelli I am on minced and mash food, that's what my dietitian called it and that goes for 2 weeks after liquids.

Hey kelliv, hope everything goes smooth for you tonight do you can go home tomorrow. I still find it hard to drink 1-1.5 litres. But when I came home I lived on Powerade and juice. Now I have a mixture of v8, diet cordial, Water and iced tea. I still get a little tired in the afternoons being 3.5 weeks out. But I am working fulltime and looking after a 2.5 yo.

This is such a great thing to do. I confess that the biggest reason for me to have the op is so I can have another baby. I confess I don't eat all my Protein or drink enough Water most days (I find it hard and I forget to eat) I confess I am scared to be skinny (as I have never been) I confess I am so worried about excess skin I confess I am also worried about regaining weight and going back to being fat Wow I feel so much better

I don't have private hospital insurance do I ended up paying for the my op. my surgeon usually does all his ops in a private hospital but once a month he does an immediate service at the public hospital in Brisbane. I was put on his list to have it there as I don't have to pay full private hospital costs. The Hospital charged me $320 a night plus food. But Medicare does cover done of the food. The cost of my surgery was $4500 to surgeon, $1370 for anaethetist, 3 night stay $960. The hospitals prothestics (stapler, staples etc) Plus my surgeons normal appt costs befor hand, 3 visits to dietitian. All up my surgery has cost me about $10000. I got about $1100 back from Medicare from the lot. I also got my money released from my super under medical grounds. Prices do depend on where you go, also of you have to travel etc. Hope this helps

Hello everyone, Michelle I am having a similar problem, I am 4 days into my mushie stage and also find it really hard to eat slowly and also the amount. My dietitian advised me to only dish up 4 tablespoons and then eat with a teaspoon. It's so hard but most meals I don't even get through half before I start to feel stuffed and then a little sick. I really thought I would be able to eat a little more but I haven't been able too. The best thing is I have not been hungry. I know we will be able to do this. Good luck. A question for all that have had the sleeve done. Is anyone getting really dry skin? I know I am getting my Water in but still have a dry mouth, very dry skin.

I am currently 2 weeks post op and have lost 15 kgs since pre op diet. (33 pounds) in about 4 weeks. I would really like to hear from other people that have to or need to lose that amount.
