I'm getting lap-band tomorrow! I decided to sign up for a support system to help make this a more fun and inspiring journey. I'm 24 years old, engaged, and planning to get married in a few months (once the majority of my weight is off). I've fought with my weight all my life, and I am so ready to change the cycle. I know this won't cure me, but it will help change my mentality. My fiance is a fairly athletic, healthy person with much better eating habits than me! I'm looking forward to starting our lives together and creating new habits with him. My mom had a gastric bypass in March of 2006 and my dad just had a gastric sleeve 2 weeks ago, so they know better what I'll be going through physically and emotionally. I'm very thankful for my family support, and look forward to finding more support and encouragement through people I meet here!
