Does anyone know anything about gluten free dough? I recently saw these Chebe brand doughs - in varieties such as pizza crust mix, cinnamin roll mix, foccacia mix, breadstick mix, etc... i was wondering if these were a safe alternative for breads? Thanks in advance!

Foods?
nathansmommy1020 replied to nathansmommy1020's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
wow thank you all for the comments! this definitely helped ease my worries! i know that pasta, breads and the like are not healthy foods but I would like to have them once in a while! It is a good thing my hubby doesn't care for pasta too much! However, he is spanish so rice and beans are a must in our house! however, i think I can live without as long as i can taste them every now and then. I know i will find ways to deal with my food issues eventually but this whole full liquids and no food crap is really bothering me! anywho, thanks again!!!! -

So one thing that has been getting me upset is the idea of being told i cannot eat something! I feel as though when I go with my mom grocery shopping, everything she buys will be 'off-limits' (once im able to eat regularly). I know things such as pasta, breads, broccoli and asparagus are off limits (my two fav veggies :/ ) but is this true for everyone? I am so upset with my decision to get the lapband, as you may have seen in my previous post... and this is one of the biggest issues i'm dealing with. Yes, I researched thoroughly before getting the surgery but it's a completely different feeling when you actually cant have the foods - not just are thinking about not having them. I can deal without soda and chips and junk food like that but i do love pasta and a lot of recipes contain bread. I know the point is to get protein in first, however, some meals are not separated into protein/veggies/starches... my favorite food used to be skinny chicken alfredo .. and I don't like the idea of never being able to eat this again. I guess i'm just searching for a little hope that I will be able to eat these things ONCE IN A WHILE? .... my friend also had the lapband procedure done and she seems to be able to eat everything from pizza to pasta to steak to cheesy bread and in the same portions as preop!!!! .. I assume she is not tight enough, but this kind of eating also is completely opposite from why she got the band in the first place. I do not wish to eat like this, but I do wish to have a sandwich here or there, or a small plate of ziti. can anyone shed light on my not-so-important worries?!

Regret?!

sharklove82: Im glad someone else is feeling this way, also! You are a bit further in your journey and I hope to feel better about my decision in a month but it is quite hard right now. i would tell you to keep your head up and put forth your best effort, but i would also be contradicting myself! so, i guess i hope it gets better for the both of us! i will keep you updated on what the doctor says! lilbit182004: im so sorry you are having such pains! i cannot imagine! i suppose I am lucky in that I havent had much pain at all. I don't pride myself too much but i am a trooper.. i was back to school two days after my emergency csection, so i guess I can deal with pain a little easier than most. I hope the doctor finds a solution to your pain and things get better for you, too! amazon13: i was told before that the lump could be due to drinking too fast but I don't believe i am! i take tiny sips throughout the day, despite my unquenced thirst!! unfortunately, i am not on solid foods yet although I feel i am ready for them! full liquids doesn't seem to be satisfying enough! valleygirlRN: thanks for your comment! i, too, am looking forward to the positive changes. I supposed I am drowing myself in self pity over things i cannot control such as the desire to pig out whenever i feel like it without gaining an ounce! I supposed it's time to let go of that and move along as you have. thank you for the inspiration! sojourner: thank you so much for the support. i keep repeating to myself the reasons i chose to have this surgery in the first place and the difference it will make in the long run. Hopefully, maybe, possibly one day i will not need the band and will be able to control my eating habits without it but I suppose I should act more grateful of the gift of the band and use it to my benefit for now. I know I have failed previously just trying to do it on my own, so I should stop complaining! I guess it's easier said than done! desiree123: i am the same! I've read so much about the negative things that RARELY happen and I freaked myself out completely! I will take your advice, thank you! thank you to everyone who responded to my post! It feels great to hear from my support team but even more awesome when it's from someone who is/has dealt with the same issues! I hope my emotions get under control soon and I can move forward and be happy with myself and my decision! I am excited to reap the positive benefits of getting the band, while at the same time still kind of upset over my decision. anyway, thanks again everyone! -

okay so i am only 6 days postop but i am starting to regret getting my band! being so young, i am nervous about complications and band erosion/adherence etc... i know i need to give it a chance and all but i feel like a two yr old throwing a tantrum bc i want it out! i guess i will feel better once i am able to actually chew something but this is awful! additionally, i feel this tightness in my chest and a lump in my throat allll the time!! it's horrible! i just have this feeling that ive made a mistake in getting the band :/ its a terrible feeling to have... however i will say im sure i will like the results once i am able to really experience the band. i see a lot of success stories but im also worried bout the excess skin! i dont want a million cosmetic surgeries! why the heck do some people get to eat anything without gaining an ounce!!!! lol lastly i will admit ive realiZed how much i used to eat just bc i wanted to and not bc i was hungry! since i cant eat and im on full liquids, i do feel like i want to eat everything in sight lol but ive noticed that i want everything even if im not hungry! such an eye opener! its crazy to think i used to order whatever came with the biggest portion just to have the most and eat in excess bc i wanted to have it before it was gone and now it will be about actual taste and health, not portions! thats the biggest realization ive had and since i am a food addict, i dont like the thought of this yet but thats part of the mental relearning! anyway just needed to rant i suppose?! frustrations from a newly banded 24 y/o new mom! lol

thanks for all of the feedback!! i am walking as much as possible but i have the tendency to overdo it so im trying to limit myself! im burping a lot but the pain in my chest is horrible!! hoping for a quick recovery!! started full liquids today so i had a protein shake and i found diabetic yogurt which has very little sugar! ate half of that and havent felt like much else!! thanks again!!! -
i was banded on the 30th, so i am 3 days out. i feel as though the pain in my back is somewhat abnormal?! i believe it is gas but i am not positive. the gas in my abdomen has been causing a lot of pain and seems impossible to pass! i am quite cramped and get sharp pains here and there frequently. is this all normal? i know it is early on but i would like to stay ahead if complications as much as possible!! thanks!
