Any one else having a head time finding it? I used to drink a pack a week. They were a great hit of low carb one hundred calorie chocolate without the aftertaste that all the Adkins shakes seem to have.

Where did Muscle milk light go???
audreycat123 replied to audreycat123's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Argh. My walmarts don't have it. I don't have a Costco either. I wonder if SAMs club might. I haven't checked there cuz my membership is expired. I'll start checking gas stations for the big bottles. Thanks guys. -
I was banded 11/8/12. Weighed 230 pounds and wire size 20 jeans. (I'm vertically challenged)Yesterday I weighed 187 and wore a snug 14 all day!!! I feel soooo great! My knees don't hurt and clothes are fun again. It is taking more patience than I thought it would. Fills seem too far apart sometimes! I find I lose when I low carb and plateau when I don't. Better than gaining any day! The best advise I got about my band was "the band doesn't work when you are eating, it works two hours later" so true! Still got my eye on those sassy size eight jeans I have hanging by my elliptical, but at least now it seems possible!

Cant get excited for 180 ..... Boo-hoo right?
audreycat123 posted a topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ok I think I have identified my problem. I was of course so very excited to get into the one hundreds that now every morning it says 190 something I'm like "great! No worries!" I just am not as motivated to get into the 18o's. consequently I have been at the same weight for about a month now. I am short, my goal weight is 140. 197 does not look good on me and I have much much cuter clothes waiting for me at around 160, but that seems so far away. I am down two sizes right now and Am really loving fitting into clothes that have been in my drawer for a couple years now. I think the next number I am excited about is 175, but that seems far away too! I can't think of anything super exciting that happens In the 180's. Help! -
Cant get excited for 180 ..... Boo-hoo right?

No I totally don't have restriction yet. I often doubt whether there is a band in there at all. My third fill is this week, my nutritionist says the third one is often the one that proves it. I hope so. I think I need to come up with some sort of reward for myself at 189. Once I get there the lure of 175 will start pulling me in. I am not coming up with anything though. I'm afraid I too was not prepared for the period between healed from surgery and proper restriction. I get frustrated that I spent so much money on this band have often feel like it was a waste. I am afraid this whole thing will end up with me waiting my life away; I had to wait to get the band, now I am waiting for restriction, what's next? I need to just get on it and loose this stupid weight, but maybe I should have done that before throwing thousands of dollars at the problem. Jeepers that turned into a negative vent. I will go dust myself off. Sorry. -
Low carb eating chills me to the bone.

When is this "tool" going to show up?
audreycat123 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded nov 8. Got my second fill yesterday. At 4cc total. This morning after a larger breakfast to try it out I still feel like I have nothing inside me, no band, no tool. So I will go back to starving and portioning out doles of food, hoping for the will power to say no to bread and pasta and all the carbohydrates I crave and got fat on, but that didn't work before so and I don't have any reason now to believe its going to work this time. Beginning to think I just totally wasted 15 grand. Now before you go all nuts, I know that the band doesn't do all the work, its not a magic pill, I know it is "just a tool" but right now I don't feel like I have anything helping me to lose this weight.... I am starving and excersizing and drooling over food i shouldn't eat, Just like I have before and have always failed at. -

Thanks guys! I always appreciate your input. I realize this evening that I may have been complaining too early as it was six o'clock today before I realized that I hadn't had my second meal for the day yet! Maybe this thing is doing something. I am really hoping that eventually I have a difficult time eating bread though. I absolutely HATE puking or anything like t and I know that would keep me from even wanting bread and such. -

I think what worries me most is that the you tube videos I have followed of people that feel like I do now often end up with them not losing very much weight. It seems the successful ones felt there bands from the get go and lost like clockwork from the beginning. Has anyone here felt there band was totally useless in the beginning and still gone on to lose lots of weight later? A larger breAkfast for me was a turkey burger, string cheese and then fifteen minutes later two biscuits that I was hoping to not be able to eat. Once the band blocks bread for me I will be fine. Bread is responsible for ninty percent of my weight problem. I am looking so forward to the day that it comes right back up. : ) -
November bandsters Unite
audreycat123 replied to lovely29's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I was banded nov 8. Down 23 pounds and majorly stalled out! I have been eating crap for all of holiday break! I have had one fill but still don't feel like anything has changed. I actually had the thought that perhaps my doctor is running a scam and didn't place the band at all! Gonna try to start over again today but I am feeling discouraged because this is exactly what I would do everyday before I decided to have surgery. By two o'clock I will have blown my diet for the day and will eat like a pig until bed. I'm really hoping my next fill on the tenth will make this decision seem real. -
Ok ladies, when am I gonna be able to wear these sassy knee boots I just bought? I an down to a size 16 from a 20 in two months since surgery, but these boots are still not zipping up much higher than my ankle. I am 5 ft 3 and 195 right now. Got any tips to get my calves smaller? Or do you know what size you were when you could zip your boots?

I Hate Protein Shakes-Frustrated
audreycat123 replied to Joy1961's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I make mine with almond milk, vanilla protien powder and any flavor of sf jello I want. Strawberry, black cherry, peach is my fav. I hated the shakes too until I started doing this. Only drawback is I have to use the blender to mix them up enough... Mess to clean. Not pudding jello, regular sf jello. It overpowers the protein taste. -
Anyone Else "late" After Surgery?
audreycat123 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My surgery was nov eighth. I was supposed to start my period five days ago. I figure my body is messed up from surgery? Anyone else experience this? -
Well this will scare everyone waiting on approval, but I am being told it hardley ever happens....so lucky me I guess. I was scheduled for surgery this Friday and found out today that I have been denied due to an exclusion on my anthem policy. Wow. Psych eval, three nutrition classes, surgeon consult, and 2 meetings with nutritionist .... All an hour away from where I live......for nothing. My gut reaction was to try to scrape together the 7500 down (1/2 of total) to go ahead with it, but after settling down I realize that is impossible. Has anyone had any luck getting around these exclusions? I have no comorbidities, bmi of 41. I will however need knee surgery if I don't lose weight- which I am sure anthem will pay for. I would rather have lap band surgery than have my knee tendons cut. I already did my left leg and the results sucked. I was sooo excited this morning. Now I just want to go to bed for a month.

audreycat123 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So I have been moved on to mushiness and my last two meals have been great while I was eating them, it's not till about ten minutes later that I realized that I had eaten toooo much. I felt so very full. Overfull. Is this delay between eating and feeling full typical? Or is it because I an so new to this? -
Whats Got Two Thumbs And Just Fixed Her Treadmill?!
audreycat123 posted a topic in Fitness & Exercise
This girl!!! I haven't walked on it for over a year cuz the info display wouldn't come on (like i couldn't walk without knowing how far I had gone... How stupid!) well I just spent the last hour tearing into it with a flashlight and a screwdriver and I fixed it!!!! A connection had popped loose. Wait, Now I have to go walk on it....... ; ) -
Ok guys I hope I can ask this in a way that makes sense. I don't understand why you are supposed to eat foods that fill the upper part of your stomach, above the band, .... no slider foods, ice cream, etc. So then what's the difference between doing that and eating food that comes back up? Does it just sit above the band for a few hours then your body decides it can't go down so it must come up? Does this question make sense? Do you want to eat food that goes through the band or not? Or goes through eventually? So is it

Question About How The Band Physically Works
audreycat123 replied to audreycat123's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Ok so it's not really like having a new smaller stomach above the band. You want food to pass through fairly quickly but with enough bulk to trigger that nerve to tell you that you are full, right? But not so much bulk that it can't go through after a minute or so of trying.......yeah? -
I am a high school English teacher. Yes, I cram Shakespeare and prepositions down the throats of grumpy teenagers all day, and I love it! I have had what seems like a million jobs, I was in the Air Force for a few years, but I don't think I will ever have another. I found what I am good at and I'm sticking to it.

Diurex After Surgery? Thoughts?
audreycat123 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am ten days post op and finally feeling pretty good. I was wondering if anyone has taken diurex after surgery to treat the swelling? I have been pushing fluids but I feel so puffy by the end of the day. -
How Soon After Post Op Can I "focus" On Weight Loss?
audreycat123 posted a topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am ten days out and now feel like myself again. I know I am supposed to be focusing on healing, but I am weighing daily anyway. The first five days after surgery I dropped ten pounds. The last five days I have stayed the same. When can I start to focus like a laser on losing weight by excersizing and eating as little as possible? My first excersizing will be treadmill walking and floor leg excersizes that I do for my knees. I have already started the leg excersizes. I guess my question is, when does the focus switch from healing to losing? I know that I am being impatient, it is a trait that I will never be rid of, however those skinny jeans I have hung on my wall are screaming at me to get started! -

While I agree that the outward snippiness that you are referring to is uncalled for, I also don't come here for sugary niceties. I appreciate all of the super support, some of which comes in a slightly sour package. Just because it is not what I want to hear doesn't mean it's not what I NEED to hear. I think that is the appreciation that was lacking in that threads originator.
