Will I Have This Feeling Forever???
smrn40 replied to lilbit182004's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG! I was banded on the 26th and have had this feeling almost constantly! I called the doctor and was told to come in this am. They said that all bands are primed to get the air out when they are put in. They said I was very swollen and took out the priming fluid. I am to remain on clears today and tomorrow and let them know how I feel tomorrow. If i still feel like this, then they will put me on carafate to help. I have been miserable and sometimes it is so bad that I take my pain medicine. -
5 Days Post Op And Eatting Sf Jello.. That's Clear Right?
smrn40 replied to 2savemylife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
As a nurse, coffee is considered a clear liquid as long as it is decaf and no milk added. Each surgeon has an opinion and the ones that I work with allow us to drink it. Since I am not a coffee drinker, it didn't matter to me. To each his own. -

Clears are anything that you can see thorough. Decaf teas, coffee (with no milk), jello, popcicles etc... -
2 Yrs In The Waiting Finally Banded On 7/25! Not Sure If Everything Is Normal?
smrn40 replied to 2savemylife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I got my band on the 26th and have also wondered if things were normal. First of all, I have to be on clear liquids only for 7 days and then full liquids for 7 days then soft foods for 7 days. Is this the same as all of you? Also, the gas has been bad and I feel like I have a constant "knot" between my breast in my esophagus all the time. When I drink something, it is as if it cramps and aches. Does everyone feel this way? It is very uncomfortable and almost feels like a spasm. Thanks...
