It is totally normal. Please don't worry about your weight right now as it isn't time to lose, it's time to heal. Also, my belly itched like mad around then and I bought some hydrocotisone spray at Walgreens that helped a lot. Good luck and congrats!

I Just Want To Give Up....please Help :(
A New New Dawn replied to xonyladixo's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doctor advises against soup/salad as well because of it not filling us up. You should eat your Protein first 3-4 ounces. Definitely plan your meals ahead of time and have healthy meals planned. When you wait until you are hungry it is too easy to make poor choices, overeat, etc. I definitely agree with seeing a nutritionist as well. I have gotten a lot of great advice from mine. -
Experiencing My 1St "stuck" Episode

Been there done that and NO FUN. Note for future, many people have difficulty eating bread so you may not be able to have toast. -
I use a magic bullet type blender. WalMart has one for under $20 and it works well for me for pureeing or my protein drinks with ice.

Try to get the junk or unhealthy foods out of your house as well so they don't tempt you and replace them with healthier alternatives. You cannot change the past but you can certainly change tomorrow. Hopefully as you start to get fills again that will at least help with your portion sizes. I might suggest some counseling though as it sounds like you may be struggling with some depression. Maybe if you can work on that the rest will fall into place. You deserve this. Try not to beat yourself up as it is only self-defeating.

Cupcakes And Lap Band?

Good luck to you -
Since it has been a while since you were banded, perhaps a visit with your doctor would be helpful too. You may need a fill to help your band support you more. I am glad you are back and things are going well.

Also, I am glad she went to ER; and they have gotten her Fluid levels up. I would hate to make a hasty decision though. Why are they determined she needs the band removed? Sometimes it could be a slip where they remove the fluid and put you on liquids to see if the band repositions itself and to avoid removing it. I would hate to see her give up the band if she doesn't need to or to make a hasty decision. That is crap that they wouldn't help her though at that hospital. Thank you for the updates and good luck w/ everything.

Help - Headaches And Energy Lows

I agree with the prior post by Kinsley. It doesn't sound like you are taking in enough calories and that could have a lot to do with it. Most doctors recommend 1000-1200. Sorry to hear your doctor didn't provide you much support in how to live with the band. I would definitely talk to your primary doctor then and also find a support group in your area. Most hospitals by me have them. Please try to up your calories, 600 is definitely not enough to sustain good health. Less is not more in this instance as you need nutrition and too little calories will get your system going into starvation mode. We are all eager to lose but still need to maintain our health. Also, most doctors recommend 60+ grams of Protein per day. for women. Also, many people end up taking fiber supplements for the constipation and other remedies like milk of magnesia. I don't myself but perhaps could benefit from it. Are you eating anything now that you weren't before being banded? Hang in there! -

I was going to guess you were newly banded. Your stitches are still healing so you are just sore. No worries. No different than when you first had surgery and coughing, breathing, or going to the bathroom may have been painful... You should be fine. -
My neighbor (of 13 years) has always had labs (3 at a time). I am amazed at what they could chew. One dog chewed a glass ornament, one a can of something, and another chewed up a metal bowl she had borrowed from me. They are the sweetest dogs though. Her 12 year old yellow lab just passed a couple weeks ago and it was so sad. I referred to her as the neighborhood mascot because she always had her loose in the front yard and she would stay in the yard and the kids would come by every day to pet her because she was so gentle and friendly.

I just love my doggies (and most doggies for that matter). I have a (B)rat terrier (obnoxious but still loveable) and a shiba inu. I fostered 4 different Shibas over the years too that I still consider my babies! The red ones get confused as "foxes" all the time. We had monster snow storm in this picture of Kobe so I had to have him on a tie-out because he could walk right over the fence w/ the snow mounds.
