    how is this even possible

This is totally normal. You are still very swollen from surgery and also need to focus on healing right now, not losing. I would keep in mind though what MIssy said about sugary or hi-cal drinks, in case you are doing that. I know we want it to start falling off but your body is still healing. It will happen.

By chance are you eating too fast or/and too big of bites? Does this happen everytime you eat? Btw, great job on your weight loss thus far!!!

    Egd tomorrow

I had to have blood work. I was already diagnosed with sleep apnea so I didn't need that one. I didn't have to have a colonoscopy either. I had a chest x-ray and a visit w/ the lung doctor to check my lung capacity as well as the visits w/ the pyschiatrist. It was all pretty harmless and every doctor and insurance is different.

    Egd tomorrow

I have seen many people comment about having one repaired during surgery and many that never knew they had one. I guess I was lucky, I didn't have one. I hope all goes well for you!

    I went a little overboard.....but that's ok.

Glad you aren't dwelling on it. The feeling you had from eating will likely deter you from doing it again (or at least as much). So many people dwell and beat themselves up. Today is a new day and a clean slate. Best wishes to you for continued success.

    Lipton cup a soup

If you are on mushies, you should eat more "solid" protein rich foods. Tuna salad, chicken salad, blenderized meats w/ broth or other liquid, cottage cheese, scrambled eggs, refried beans, etc. I don't think the soup will offer you much nutrition.

May not get banded Friday :(

Hang in there. Much better they err on the side of caution rather than put your health in jeopardy for doing surgery when you are more at risk. Chances are you have been overweight for years, putting this back a week or two isn't the end of the world in the big picture. Stay positive. You got this!!! Your health comes first. Good luck to you.
  11. An alternative my NUT gave me is the NO SUGAR ADDED Carnation Instant Breakfast shakes. They come in a blue carton (either in packets or loose powder) don't get the yellow box, you mix it with 8 ounces of skim milk and add 3 T of non-fat powdered dry milk and it is about 20 grams of protein. They are good. I mix them in the blender w/ ice and they are tasty. They come in vanilla, chocolate and strawberry. I only drink the chocolate. You can find the mix at most grocery or superstores. I have tried many protein drinks and cannot stand most of them. But I am very squeamish about foods/textures, etc. Good luck.

You may want to consult your doctor if it persists for peace of mind or medical guidance.

    Post lap band

Usually your urine should be almost clear if you are drinking enough. Try to up you liquid intake and you should notice a difference. I am no doctor but have been told that by mine.

    Cauliflower "poppers"

http://www.delightedmomma.com/2012/01/baked-cauliflower-poppers.html I made this recipe tonight and they are soooo yummy (I omitted dipping them in ketchup). I have roasted veggies before but these get crunchy and taste so yummmmm a dummm.

    My big "FAT" rant.

When I went for the pre-op pyschologist appt, he brought up that some couples do struggle so it is important to communicate openly. My fiance has made a few "joking" comments in passing that I am going to leave him. I don't think he is worried and he isn't bold about it. If a man truly has a problem with it, it really is their insecurity and not a reflection of you. Just make sure you keep the lines of communication open. I hope things work out well in your journey with the insurance.

    Bad Morning...help

Hi there. I really suggest getting some counseling. The food, family, ex bf, etc. are significant issues to try to deal w/ on your own. I think you could benefit from ongoing counseling. If you can get out (the mall or something) to go for a walk or have a friend come over that may help ease your mind. Know that you are not going to die and you are physically ok. I'm sorry you have been dealing w/ so much.

    Conoloscopy

If you aren't "going" that is not uncommon but you don't need a procedure to aid that. Talk to your doctor to see what suggestions he/she may have. Many people take liquid formulas to aid that (mom, miralax, etc) but definitely ck w/ doctor before taking any of those meds. Also, make sure you are getting enough water/liquids. That makes a big difference.

    Conoloscopy

There are diets/regimes (I know Dr. Oz has one) to "clear out your system" but I would definitely talk to your dr before doing anything like that.

    Really losing it

Sorry to hear of your struggles and glad it seems things are coming back together. As for drinking, if you cannot get liquids down definitely call your dr. back; however, if it is just difficulty or uncomfortable you may be taking too big of sips. At this point, make sure you are taking small, yet frequent, sips of liquids. You are swollen and if you try to take in too much it will be very uncomfortable. As for mushies, for tuna, you should be ok with it as it is but make sure you take small bites and chew thoroughly. For chili, my NUT recommended I put that in the blender, the Beans could cause issues at this stage. Other people have done fine w/out using the blender and it's really whatever your dr. suggested. You should be able to have eggs and cottage cheese now too. Things are looking up!

    I sinned!

It's not so much how much you drink but how fast. Drinking a lot of liquid is good for you but sip it, don't chug. Now that I have restriction, if I take too big of a drink I can feel it sitting above my band and then go through. It's a weird feeling and a reminder I need to slow it down. Does your doctor have a nutritionist you can meet with? That helped me a lot w/ understanding how to eat, what to eat, etc. and how to treat my new baby pouch!

    I sinned!

I do feel for people that aren't given a lot of instructions from their doctors/nutritionist. I agree w/ the above posts. I know you know better now, just please know this really could cause complications. Your stomach shouldn't be churning solid foods before the doctor recommends. You could cause the band to slip, tear sutures, etc. It is hard when you start getting hungry and feeling better but be strong. It gets better and you can do this! For me the hardest part is the emotional "divorce" from food. Now that I am 5 mos. post op I don't crave or miss those things. On occasion, sure but overall, no and not to where I "have" to have it. My health is far more important now!!! Please come back w/ any questions and for support. I think that make a huge difference in your success.
