Is there anyone that doesn't get fills
headset replied to wozzicat's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had lapband with plication on Aug 14, 2012. I have never had a fill and don't really want one. I have been in the green zone since October. I have lost 58 lbs since surgery. Everyone is different. I think the plication is what allows people to lose weight without fills. My doc doesn't encourage fills with plication unless its absolutely necessary. Good luck to everyone!! -
I had lapband with plication on Aug 14. I have lost 55 lbs since the surgery. I have not had a fill and don't plan on getting one unless its absolutely necessary. My doc says that a lot of people who have plication do not need to get fills. I go next week to the doctor and I don't plan on getting a fill. I have been in the green zone since almost the beginning. Good luck!

I have a special water bottle. No one is allowed to touch it. It holds 25 oz of water. I drink one @ 10am. One at 3pm. And one at 7:30pm. It takes me about 30 min to drink it. And I always take water in the car. It's a challenge, but it makes me full and keeps me hydrated. Hope that helps.

I had surgery in August. I was 232 and now I am 185. I use fitnesspal and I track every bite I put in my mouth (600-700 calories a day). I drink 75 ounces of Water a day. I exercise 5 days a week. Everyone loses weight at a different pace. It may take longer but as long as it comes off and stays off. Good luck with your journey!! You are doing great!!

What Is Your Typical Daily Food Consumption?
headset replied to AmandaBelle75's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had surgery on August 14. I eat between 500-600 calories a day and workout 5 or 6 times a week. I have lost 40 lbs since the day of my surgery. I do not get hungry very often. My doctor told me to only eat when I am hungry. I did have the plication so that may be why I can eat so few calories and be satisfied. Everybody does it differently. If it is working for you then keep doing it. Good luck everyone on your journey!! -
Care And Feeding Of Lap Band Opinions
headset replied to FLORIDAYS's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I specifically look for certain people's responses to questions and posts. Floridays, yours is one of them. I always value what you say and I like the way you respond to questions. I went to my doctor for my three month check up and he told me to be wary of these forums. Whereas they can be helpful, there are certain types of people who go on these forums to complain. They are the people who are not succeeding in their weight loss. We are all different and lose weight in different ways, but the end result is the same. I am proud of you for getting "thin". I hope to be there soon, too! And I refuse to allow anyone to take that away from me!! -
I had the band with plication done in August. I have had no problems. My doctor lets you make the choice. I was told that even if you have the band removed, the plication would still help with your weight loss. My doc doesn't see why one wouldn't want to do it. It was a great decision for me.

Any Band With Plication Out There?
headset replied to Beth A's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had it done, too, 6 weeks ago. I am down 25 lbs. I went for my post op check last Thursday and my surgeon didn't think a fill was necessary. I agree! I go 4 to 5 hours between meals and eat with no problems. I get full quickly and have no cravings. Life is pretty great! I am so glad that I had the plication done. I can't see that there are any downsides to having it done. Best decision ever. -

What Calorie/protein Goal Is Everyone Aiming For?
headset replied to CCornell87's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use the Unjury protein powder every day. Chocolate splendor is delicious. I would rather drink a protein shake and not have to worry about how to fit it all in during the day. The shakes combined with eating, I usually get between 55 and 65 grams of protein without even trying. Best of luck! -
Day 8 post op. I started mushies yesterday. So far so good. No problems. I have way less hunger than I did the previous days. I am already down 11 lbs and that makes me pretty happy.

I can definitely see him saying that, but you just have to let what he says roll off your back and be proud about what you have accomplished. He is intense. But his actions make me want to succeed even more.

Pheath, did you have the plication, too? I did. I feel as though that helps with the hunger pains.

Everyone seems to have such a different diet to follow. I only had to do liquid for one day pre op and 3 days post op. Then I went to full liquids for one day. Then onto to mushies for 3 weeks. I feel for those who have to do weeks of liquids. I don't think I could do that.

When Does The Gas Pain End??
headset replied to Roxygirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am taking infant gas drops and they have helped a lot. I am day 4 post op and the gas pain is going away. -
Day 3 has been much better for me. Gas kicked in this morning, but it's not awful. Soreness is much better today. I am still on the pain meds every 6 hours, but I might not do them tomorrow if I feel better. They make me feel kinda loopy. I start thicker liquids tomorrow. ???‰

I am day 2 post-op also. Luckily I have had no nausea, but I am pretty sore today. Much more than yesterday. I find it hard to get up from the seated position. Ouch! I am hoping that tomorrow will be a little better. Good luck!
