Does anyone know how long after getting banded you're allowed to smoke again? A week? What if I just have one or two a week?

Oh my god that sounds awful! I'm so sorry I start school in September and thankfully getting surgery next week but I can understand you don't want to miss time from school and you feel like its taking forever just hope and pray your infection clears up soon so you can get your band! best of luck x

So I'm on my pre op healthy diet to shrink my liver and reduce fat (1000-1200 calories) but I was wondering can I have salt? Because I've been making lots of healthy soups, using pepper and herbs but it's just not the same without a bit of salt in it but I'm not sure I'm allowed? Help?!

Wow guys, thanks for your advice, yea there is an unbelievable amount of salt in things! But on this diet I've only been eating fresh fruit and veg and skimmed milk and skinless oven baked chicken breast. I don't add salt into anything except vegetable soup and I was just wondering would it affect my liver shrinking? Trying to be as healthy as possible for my op so I guess no salt for me

What did you weigh before you got your band?

I just usually eat a piece of fruit and a yogurt its good coz you can take them with you if your on the run!

My op date is the 12th of August. I'm Irish too, I live up north, and I smoke too lol. I'm on my pre op diet and yes it is SO flipping hard and I had to stop smoking, but all I can tell you is the thing that keeps me going is the thought of me not being fat anymore! I'm just so excited to loose weight and I would do anything to loose it, so of I have to stop smoking for a few weeks and diet then il do it to try be healthier. Il probably smoke again after my op though lol. But just think of how good your going to look. And remember how dangerous it is for you if you don't quit smoking! Just try have one smoke a week but 2 weeks before your op you need to seriously not have any. Best of luck! Btw who are you getting your surgery with?

Ohh my bucket list is.. •Go horse riding •Wear shorts/skirts/dresses • Go on Rolacoasters •Buy and wear a leather jacket without looking silly •Wear a swimsuit for the first time in 10 years! And be able to go swimming in my local swimming pool. • Wear short sleeved tops without worrying about my giant arms.

Oh dear maybe he is worried you will leave him when you get your new sexy body? Or maybe he's just and ass either way this is about you! Just keep going until you reach your goal and don't let anyone stop you! Maybe he does need reassured you won't leave him once you loose weight, some men get insecure when they realise other men will soon be after their woman! Lol best of luck, don't give up!! x

Oh dear, so can you eat the same amount of food as you did before the band? You DEFINETLY need to see a doc I mean what if your band has slipped off or eroded? Maybe that's why you havnt been loosing much weight so please please please go to a doctor just to make sure there are no serious problems.

That's so annoying!! Ive been seeing a counsellor for the last 2 years for depression and when I went to a private clinic i told them and they had to write to my counsellor and my counsellor PERSONALLY doesn't agree with any kind of gastric operations which and she won't write back to my surgeon and he won't preform surgery until she does luckily I had a sneaky idea to go with another clinic a told them I don't see a counsellor. I know it's wrong but what can I do? The only reason I see a counsellor is because of my weight issues anyway! hope you get sorted out. Best of luck.
