It feels like heartburn! Just kind of tight. And my port area feels like a huge black and blue mark! HOW DO YOU GUYS SHOWER?!

I don't know how you're going to go to school on the same day as your surgery! I wasn't extremely tired or unable to walk, but I don't think you will be able to sit in your seat comfortably when you have a new foreign object in your body!!! I cheated a little on my pre op diet and it was fine!

August 2nd! Done and done! Lost 13 pounds!

Alicesandra: do you feel major restriction pains in your chest where I'm guessing the Lapband ring is? They're not terrible I guess they just feel like heartburn?

Hi I'm brand new here and am currently on my pre-op diet eating basically chicken and veggies and protein shakes...my surgery is scheduled for August 2 and my first fill isn't until August 28. I'm scared I'm going to be SUPER hungry! Has anyone had a problem with being extremely hungry without their first fill? Can someone help me figure out what I have in store for the first month. My doctor was very vague and said it should be fairly easy, but if I have no restriction I'm going to freak out!! Also, is this bloating from surgery going to make me look even bigger haha and I really don't think it's appropriate for a girl to be farting at a tanning salon!! (where I work and I plan on going back four or five days after surgery. Oh yeah week one post op liquid diet, week two mushies, and then slowly solids...Could use ANY help, advice, whateva you got!

Kayla! Thanks! I'm only spray tanning now!

Jen_1381 thank you! I am in no condition to complain either way just because I'm so happy I'm finally truly doing something that will actually work. I'll put in the work to see the results. My doctor did mention that my fill can be every 2-4 however long I want to wait and they want me to feel the restriction so I don't struggle. Same thing with your docs? And still not feeling real restriction? Just curious!

I was banded yesterday August 2nd. I was up walking around about an hour after surgery and I felt very little discomfort. The only thing I'm having a problem with is when I cough or breathe really deep it kind of hurts. Not terrible though. Anyone else? They did give me a breathing apparatus that teaches me how to deep breathe again. Maybe this is normal? I had zero nausea and I haven't had very little gas pain at all, NOTHING IN MY SHOULDERS. Feeling really lucky! GOOD LUCK!

Wow thanks guys! I'm on day 2 post surgery banded August 2nd. And I'm not hungry at all! I had a half a cup of chicken broth and I was FULL. I've lost 9.5 pounds after my one week pre-op diet (which I unfortunetly cheated on). So far I'm amazed. I napped for an hour after surgery and was walking the rest of the day! Just a little discomfort near the port area and a little difficulty deep breathing! Other than that this is awesome! I can't wait for the healing and "bandster hell" to be over for my first fill. Thanks for the advice!

I'm 21 and also really concerned about drinking. I'm having surgery on August 2nd and am supposed to go to Vegas August 10th. I don't think I'm going to be able to drink, which is fine so soon after being banded, but afterwards I'd like to be able to do my usual bar hopping and lots of drinks! If I steer clear of carbonated drinks will that be fine?! I'm not ready to give up my social life, but I guess if I have to go out being the sober one I could...as long as I'm losing weight! That's what's most important to me!

I'm getting banded August 2nd and I smoke weed every single day. I was concerned that I won't be able to smoke after the surgery because of the munchies I'll get afterward, but I've thought about this A LOT I cannot not smoke! It's one of the most enjoyable parts of my life especially if Im going to have to limit my drinking afterward. My theory is, if you can have the LAPBAND and practice self control with food, AND you're seeing results, then even if you are smoking you should force yourself to have that same self control. I'm not at that point yet, but this is my goal
