I'm so glad I found the veteran forum. I've been reading the newbie posts but needed to hear from people like me. I will be one year post UOP in Oct and my bad habits have crept back in - stress eating and carbs. I made it to goal but I've gained six pounds, which may not seem like much but I know that I'm headed the wrong direction. Honestly I'm surprised it's not more with the amount is junky food I've been eating. I got back to taking my Vitamins. I added exercise back and now I'm working on drinking more Water, eating smaller amounts and cutting back on slider foods. Thanks for sharing your experiences. I'm looking at starting a weekly conf calling Sunday afternoons as well. If anyone is interested please let me know. Pamela

I noticed that I get dizzy from time to time especially if I'm standing for a long time. Wonder if its dehydration or something else. Pamela

I noticed that I've picked up my pre-surgery habit of snacking on junk, not exercising and drinking non Water drinks. I've picked up 5 lbs. so today I'm committed to going back to basics. My goal is to lose 8 lbs this month. Anyone want to join me? Lots of water Exercise 5 days a week Limited simple carbs Eat Protein first Eat slow/stop when full Meditate and pray when stressed instead of eating -
Haven't taken iron in 5 days and feel fine. So that was it. I'll try to add it back with a slow release version.

Thanks for sharing. It sounds like you are on the right path. I've noted a few of your suggestions for my use. I like the idea of using a small pot to pop the popcorn, eat protein first and eat the veggies.

Hello everyone. Doing great since surgery. I've lost 101-104 pounds. I noticed that I eat way more simple carbs than I used to so I'm trying to get back to the basics. I started back working out because it's been too long. Two concerns thus far: 1. I am always hungry. I eat, sometimes past full, then with 1-2 hours I'm famished. 2. Sometimes I feel dizzy. I think maybe the result of a) my Iron supplement and not enough Water. But I'm not sure. How is everyone else?

OMG. Forgot all about eating the Protein first. When I eat simple carbs it seems like I can eat 2-3 servings. It's crazy. I feel so much better when I exercise, get enough sleep and eat right. I've gained 3.5 lbs in recent weeks and since I refuse to go back I'm going to make these simple changes you both suggested.

My husband is having an affair. He had surgery a year ago. After he lost weight he met up with someone. Is there anything I can do? We have two children and I want to save our marriage. By the way, I had surgery 2 months ago and am working to get myself together.

Thanks. When you increased calories did you feel stuffed? Did you eat more at each meal or more often? Congrats on 2 years of success.

How do you know when you are at goal? I have 7 more pounds I'd like to lose but I noticed that some friends tell me I should not lose any more. Not sure if they are not used to seeing me small or if I'm not seeing myself accurately. I'm 5'4 and weigh 146.5.

Thanks for all the great feedback. The dietician said I could be at my goal weight because the skin may way up to 30 lbs. she td me to increase my water and protein. If my body wants to lose a few more pounds it will otherwise it will stay the same. And yes there are 2 sides to the coin. Those who aren't used to seeing us thin vs those of us who can see ourselves thin when we are. I have a doctor appt next May so I'll see what she says. Appreciate your encouragement.

Glucerna hunger smart shake

SAMs or Costco. They are good and ready made. -
What you are feeling is perfectly normal. I went through that too. When you switch foods Thursday it will make a huge difference because you are adding variety back a little at a time. If you are feeling dizzy you may not be getting enough Protein. Call your doctor or dietician. Hang in there. Soon you'll be too busy shopping for small clothes to care about missing the junk food. Just spoke with dietician. She agreed - increase protein and water intakes and cut down on carbs. She also said that I may be at goal because some of the weight is skin not fat.

I'm having a hard time losing my last 10 pounds. Any suggestion?

I'm going back to basics. I've been craving and eating carbs like crazy. I'm only 12 pounds from goal so I need to get serious. -
I might need to do that too. I only have 22 lbs to go and I've been stalled for four weeks. I just want to get this last few pounds off.

I'm 4 months out and craving donuts, chips and other junk food. Anyone else gone through this? Do I satisfy my hunger or avoid the junk like the plague?
