Are never allowed to have Advil again or just while healing?
-
Yes, I remember having that pulling pain... It went away at about 3 weeks the internal stitches are pulled tight, but dissolve and then the pain goes away...

A great tip I got from my nurse just before I left the hospital is when trying to get the yucky flavors of liquid meds or crushed pills down, chase them with a little watered down grape juice. The flavor even when watered down, is strong enough to kill the yucky tastes

You can get belly binders at walgreens or Walmart for about $30 ... And to help get the nasty liquid meds down, my nurse said to chase it with a little watered down grape juice... It's flavor is strong enough to cancel out the yuck

My surgeon told me that there are stitches inside that have things pulled tight, and thus I have one spot that looks dented in and he said eventually that stitch will dissolve and that spot will look smooth again and that is also where the pulling feeling comes from.

Thank you everyone... I think I have it figured out now... This is awesome and I linked it to my fitbit too. I love the barcode scanner... This will make tracking so much easier!

I know there are lots of apps to track calories but are there any for tracking protein?
-
I have fit bit and my fitness pal and do see protein anywhere

I saw something today that Dr. Oz says to drink aloe juice... Also might try taking out lactose... Many people do not realize this can be a symptom of lactose intolerance.

My list of soft food only has toast listed for breads...and only 1 piece at a meal... I used to love that kind of bread too but u will have to work your way up to that... someone said they wrap lunch meat around the string cheese and eat it like that. -

One Month Out July Sleevers
sandipq replied to phillygirl8133's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When you eat the sandwich are you eating the bread? Try just the lunch meat, some grilled fish, or eggs. Grits and oatmeal are on my soft list too and peanut butter...limited amount though. -
Spanx Instead Of A Binder For Compression?
sandipq replied to oconnell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
What I like about the binder is it is more adjustable and if I sit for a while and it starts feeling tight I can loosen it. And now 2 weeks out I can make it tighter as the swelling goes down -
I am 15 days post op and have had no issues at all. Feeling great! Last night though I started feeling a slight pain in my right leg between my ankle and calf... It doesn't hurt to walk or anything, but I can just feel it when I touch it... I know there are lots of nurses on here so my question is once u are 2 weeks out isn't your risk of blood clot way down? I have been pretty active running my 3 kids here and there, and I rest in between.

Driving After Surgery
sandipq replied to weight_no_longer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Maybe you could find a surgery buddy in your area either from this site or a support group in your area. If you live in the Dallas area I would be willing to drive you -
Has Anyone In The Dfw Area Used Dr Adam Smith With Fort Worth Lapband?
sandipq replied to hmscott09's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had my sleeve 7/31 with Dr. Nick. Every single thing was absolutely wonderful! I can not say enough good things about him. He has a great beside manner... Very funny... We cracked jokes and his voice reminds me of Nicholas Cage. I loved everyone in his offices and at the hospital. They are very thorough with instructions. He works out of Forest Park and Baylor Plano. Feel free to ask me any questions. -
How far post op are you? I get all mine at barbaric advantage.

Ahhh.... Thought maybe it was something else... My drainage tube was removed the next day before I went home. Most people say they don't feel their drain but I found it very painful when they squeezed it and when they removed it.

I will be 2 weeks post op tomorrow and still on a liquid diet. I have been feeling fine.... Some tenderness but nothing that would hold me back. I was busy most of the day yesterday but felt okay last night. Today though I have a bad pain in my left side. If feels like when you walk/run too long or too fast and you get a stitch in your side. It has really bothered me all day today but not at all before today. Has anyone else had this?

Driving After Surgery
sandipq replied to weight_no_longer's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My doc said once I was off the pain meds... For me it was about 10 days although I still took pain meds at night. My first time driving though was strange... I just felt disconnected... Or distracted..I live in Dallas and had to drive 30 min into the city so I just took it easy on the highways. -
I am also 13 days out and have not been having any pain but today i am having the same type of pain but on my left side. Maybe it is just the internal healing?
