This can't be true...
silly_weasel replied to cutlass6521's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I can so relate to weighing myself daily! But I HAVE to do it to stay motivated. I'm the kinda person that needs to "see" the progress in order to keep going and to stay on the right track. I weigh myself same time every morning, pretty much naked. When I see the decrease, I get all excited and motivated for the day. I figured out that if I skip my workout for 1-2 days, the scale doesn't budge. So I'm more motivated to get back to the gym the following day. I know this won't work for everyone. But this is my way, it works for me, and I'm sticking to it -
Does anyone else feel like they have a hair ball stuck in the back of their throat every time they eat?? It's so annoying...happens after I take 2-3 bites. I stop eating of course, and then it takes about 30 minutes for the feeling to go away. Sometimes if goes away quicker when I walk around or burp.

So I know how we are supposed to eat 1/2 to 1 cup of food per meal. This is easy to measure if you are eating soup, yogurt, oatmeal, protein shake, etc. And this maybe a silly question, but say you are eating a sandwich, salad, chicken wing, pizza, etc....pretty much anything that you can't really put into a measuring cup. How are you supposed to know how much to eat??

So this maybe a stupid question...but if you are already stuck, wouldn't the papaya enzyme just get stuck on top of the stuck food? Does it come in pills, powder, or liquid?
-
What's the deal with papaya enzymes?? I've never heard of that before.

I'm not much of a breakfast eater really. However, recently noticed that I seem tighter early morning and have trouble eating foods that I normally have no problems eating. Does anyone know why this would be??

OMG! I think I over did it. Help
silly_weasel replied to Angi281's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
OMG! I feel so awkward too! My husband is the only one that knows, so he understands. But when we are out with friends, I feel so embarrassed. People start asking if I don't like my food, or I am sick. I try to come up with excuses, joke around, or change the subject. A couple of times, I got food stuck, trying to "blend in" and ended up running to the bathroom with slime coming up any second -

Morning tightness
silly_weasel replied to silly_weasel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm glad to hear that others have encountered the same problem. I have trouble getting my protein in and I really hate protein shakes, and so my NUT recommended I eat lunch/dinner foods. That's how I discovered the morning tightness thing. -

Gas or Muscle Spasms
silly_weasel replied to buddy567's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You can also try Gas-X...it comes in dissolvable strips that you place on your tongue. If it goes away - then it's gas pain ????. Walking around also helps! -
Hi, I'm having trouble getting all the Protein in. My NUT and surgeon recommend 80-90 grams per day. I'm not a big meat eater at all. I don't eat steak, pork chops, or even a chicken breast. I can eat a small amount of shredded chicken or ground beef, or canned tuna...but that's getting old quick. I still haven't found a Protein shake that I like either. So I would really appreciate some suggestions of how I get boost up my protein intake without feeling like I'm eating a whole animal. Thank you!

Hi, has anyone experience left shoulder pain while running? It feels like the pain I would sometimes get when I eat too much...and I know that could hurt your band. I wonder if I can keep running without hurting something? Before the band, I would get pain in my left side sometimes when I started to run. Could if be the same kind of pain??

Undecided on Protein
silly_weasel replied to silly_weasel's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Has anyone heard of Eggface? She has a blog with protein shake recipes and tons of other stuff. She uses Max Protein by company called SEI Nutrition. Has anyone tried it? -
So I'm such a weird super-freak that I cannot make a simple decision without investigating the hell out of it, stressing over it, checking, re-checking...and even then...I still have a hard time deciding. I'm still trying to find the BEST protein powder out there! I've read all the posts on LBT and other sites and it just made things more complicating because everyone seems to have their own favorites, but without any majority pointing to any specific brand. I would really hate to have to waste money and time by ordering all of them:( I need a Whey protein or isolate that is low cal, low fat, low carb, with 20-40 grams of protein...not too expensive...and something that I can order online since I'm currently living in Germany and my picking are slim. I tried and don't care for True Results brand or Bariatric Advantage. I tried unflavored Unjury...which is tolerable...but I would be sooo happy if I could actually enjoy my protein shakes instead. Please Help!

Newbie question...what does the band feel like?
silly_weasel replied to Lovely Lioness's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mis is right - you shouldn't feel your band at all if everything is well. Sometimes, during a stuck episode, I feel like a glob of something is stuck in my throat. But most of the time, I just feel full after just a little bit of food and have no desire to continue eating. It's pretty awesome! -

Thanks Carolinagirl! Can I get that brand on Amazon? I live in Germany right now and choices are slim. Great idea on meatballs, Dylan! I will definitely try that!

I saw this post and starting to consider a Fitbit myself. My birthday is coming up and my husband has been asking me what I want. I went to their website and watched the videos and stuff, but still don't understand how it makes you sleep better or exercise more. Is this thing actually worth $100 or is it just a fancy pedometer and I should I ask for jewelry instead?
