Hello All, Wondering if anyone has used Dr. Hanna in Las Vegas Nv. If so, what hospital did he use? What was your total cost out of your pocket (Dr. Hanna, Anesthesia and Hospital)? Thanks for any in formation.

Woohoo, I am so glad to hear this. Congratulations. I have been a Headache sufferer all my life. Headaches with no real explanation. Since my Surgery Nov 7, I have had two bad headaches and I know exactly why I had them.. Were taken care of with simple Tylenal. Have not taken my daily headache med since the surgery.. This is freaking awesome. I truly believe there is a connection between Grelin and Headaches. Best Wishes, IMABear

I saw this thread the first day it posted. Had a number of thoughts on this. I have thought for a while now how nice it would be to have someone that: Understands what I have gone through and appreciates that That I can go out to dinner with and not be looked at like "why are you eating so little" Maybe go out to eat and share a plate. Im a single dad. Two awesome daughters that have supported me 100% on this. They do get a little chuckle when we go out to eat. Waitress asks: What can I get you to drink? Nothing for me thank you. What you don't want something to drink, not even Water. Nope, thank you. Im good. Funny look and a smile. My Gals just love that:-) Well, just my thoughts. This surgery has been the most wonderful thing I could have done for myself. Day of first Dr visit back in Aug: 324lbs Surgery Nov 7: 294lbs On the scale this morning: 226lbs -

I say to Hell with them. You are doing this for you and you know what you are doing. You have researched this and know this is right. I personally didn't tell anyone except my teenage daughters (whom live with me) and they loved the idea of me being more healthy and able to much more fun stuff with them. I told my parents after surgery was scheduled and they were supportive. Mom came and helped the night before and stayed for a week. Told my brother after the fact, well can't argue what has already been done. You are going to feel like **** for a number of days after the surgery. Hang in there it will get better. You have come this far. If you have to, separate yourself from those folks that you can (the best friend) for now and pick back up after. Put your Fiancée in his place and tell him all you want from him is support. If he can't give you that...... Well..... Pick your chin up and be strong, for yourself!!!!! You can do this!!!! Best of Luck.... -

Walk, walk, walk, walk. That is the only way to get rid of all that Gas. My surgery was on the 7th. I too could not get in the liquids. I just made myself get at least some in. By Day 3 I went onto Gatorade. That al least has the Fluid and electrolytes your body will be needing. By day 4 I was getting at least a 16oz bottle of Gatorade in. I started adding in Water and AppleJuice. At this point, a week out, I am doing pretty damn well. Don't get discouraged, I know you will. Just keep looking up and forward, this will pass. I had a horrible time with heartburn before surgery. Non since the surgery. How are you taking that Prilosec. If it is the capsule. That getting stuck might be some of your pain. I can't even take the smallest of capsules. Tried my Migraine med after I got home. Damn thing was in my stomach and felt like a Knife in my chest for hours. Good Luck, and Walk, walk, walk..... -
Suggestion for those of you with sleeping/comfort issues. I have an extra pillow that lays under my regular pillow. Raises my head and shoulder up just a little. Tried to go without that pillow last night and somehow I had pressure on my belly. I also have a little longer then reg pillow that I sleep next to. My belly sits up against it and I put the rest between my legs. Takes damn near all the pressure off my belly. I am sleeping like a baby. Give it a try and let us know what you think. Good Luck

Well Im 5 days out. Can't say it has been the easiest or the hardest 5 days of my life. I couldn't drink more then about 16 oz of Fluid for the first couple days. I knew this was not good, but, thats how it was. I resorted to drinking Gatorade. I needed to get as much electrolytes I could and this was what I went with. I discovered I was not big on cold liquids. Didn't feel right. So I have gone to room temp to warm liquids. Feels so much better. Yesterday I felt pretty good and pushed myself to get more fluids in. Ensure Clear is nasty, but I Water it down and that works. chicken broth is nasty. Beef Broth OK. I resorted to making a "Cup Of Noodle" Soup and just drinking the liquid. Wow, that is so much better. My Dr. does Clear Liquids for the first week postop. Then, full liquids week 2. I feel so good today and see things only going up from here. I will say, I did have a few points in the past few days of "What the hell have I done". But, move on and don't have a pitty party for myself. As of today, I don't think I will be having thoughts like that again. Looking so forward to the things ahead. IMABear
