40 Y.O.,Obese since childhood, want to lose 150?
P.J.Rox replied to SerendipityHappens's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
Well it sounds like I could have written this post. I am 44 and I have always been chunky. It wasn't until I had my children that I really got huge. So I've been carrying this large amount of extra weight for 19 years. Had the sleeve in May and I've lost 83 pounds. Was excercising regularly but had to stop due to family emergency. Now I'm getting back on track. Slow loser, but a loser just the same. Surgeon was very pleased with percentage of loss at 6 month checkup. Started at 319 and size 28 or 30 pants. Now a 22 is getting big. So happy to be taking this journey. -

Constant Burping...uugghh!
P.J.Rox replied to DivaK's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I have had the same problem since my surgery in May. If there is a solution, I haven't found it yet... -
I also had thrush. I had to take serious doses of antibiotics- 4 different courses of different kinds. It would get better, then come back. I started to gargle with listerine and that helped. The thrush lasted about 6 weeks. Make sure you talk to your doctor, so that you get the right treatment. Good luck.

P.J.Rox replied to Blugirl's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
May 7 here. Down 51 pounds and 3 sizes. Now my new jeans are getting loose. Best feeling ever. Also, I have become an exercise freak and total carb watcher. Yay sleeve! -
Introduction And My Journey
P.J.Rox replied to Serendipity's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Hi Linda! I am also a 44 year old mother of 2 with 3 cats and 2 dogs. I had the sleeve on may 7. The recovery was tough and I worried I would be miserable forever, but that passed and I feel great! No regrets and a whole new (smaller) me. Good luck! -
I completely understand how you feel. My family was 100 opposed to the surgery. They said it wouldn't work for me, it was the easy way out. That made it very difficult to go through with it, but I did! Best decision I ever made. You really have to pay attention to diet and excersise after, but you see results so you are able to stick with it. Once I committed, my family got on board and are all very happy for me. Do what you need to take care of yourself--you are worth it.
