Did anyone use Barker Bariatrics in Dallas?
bd0982 replied to toxtomany's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I also had similar experiences. Although I assume that Dr. Barker was doing my surgery and about 30 minutes before they took me in Dr. Hodges came in and stated she was. I had never met her before and still haven't ever really spoken with her. I do believe their office could do a little better job with communicating on who your doctor will be and at least allow you to see the doctor after surgery or during your first follow up visit. Other than that things have been a smooth transition with the office. They do a support group once a month and I have been going and found it very helpful. I wish I had known about it before the surgery. Good luck with your decisions! -

How Much Can You Eat?
bd0982 replied to SoonToBeThinKAT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am having a lot of trouble eating. I am almost 6 months out and eat almost nothing during the day. I feel as if I could just not eat and be content. I know this is not good and the protein is hard for me to get down also. I'm really trying to learn to eat again but I just don't ever want food. I am hopeful it gets better soon. -

I am totally with you. I am about 15 weeks out and have been on a very frustrating 3 week stall. I dont feel like I've changed my diet or exercise other than maybe I should be working out 5-6 days a week instead of 3-4. I also get in about 30-40g of protein a day and am wondering if that's affecting my diet and hair loss. Keep up the good work so far!!

Hope For Second Year Sleevers
bd0982 replied to crosswind's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
So glad to read this thread and see more people like me. I had my sleeve surgery June 6 and have lost 60lbs thus far. I'm really cautious about what I eat and workout 3-4 times a day however have been really discouraged by not losing anything in the last 3 weeks. I guess I just have to hope it will pick back up again soon and I just have to keep working at it! -

I am about 13 weeks out and struggle daily with food. I keep hoping it gets better soon!! Meat is still very difficult for me to eat but things like tuna, salad and even pasta don't bother me. I find of the food is very moist and tender its much easier. Glad to hear I'm not the only one!

Losing Hair... Chop It All Off?
bd0982 replied to kmbrlycool's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I've heard Nioxxin really helps along with taking biotin each day. I am having similar problems with my hair and taking biotin everyday. I haven't tried the Nioxxin yet buy have seen good reviews for it. -
Oh so do I girl! I keep wearing them though and thinking that's part of the problem. Today I went to buy some new jeans and fit in some 3 sizes below what I wore before. I then looked in the mirror just baffled bc I felt like I looked the same In them but wearing smaller clothes. Oh well I hope my view changes and I get some self confidence back soon

Hi there I feel the exact same way!! I had mine 6/6 so I'm just about the same as you and at 60lbs loss. People come up to me all the time and say omg wow you look great and I just don't see it at all. I have looked at before and after pics and still see the same person with no changes. I was warned about this and heard that it can take some time. Hang in there bc you look great!!

You Don't Have To Tell Ppl You're Having Surgery!
bd0982 replied to Eyemallrt's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I'm sorry but I respectfully disagree with you. I haven't lost my weight exceptionally fast and I've been on a diet work out program for about 8 mo now and I'm 3 mo out of my surgery so no one has even suspected or questioned me about it. -
