Do any of you know... All the pregnancy books give estimates of how much more calories you need to be eating (don't diet), etc. Due to this super tightness, I don't even snack at night anymore, so I'm probably banking MAYBE 500 calories in a day. It says add about 300 calories, which means I really need to at least hit 1,000 + 300. It says don't use empty calories to get them= getting fat. Since I can't get solids to go down, and the thick liquids (slim fast and the like) are very painful and slow to go down.. until my unfill, should I drink things like apple juice, that are high calorie, just to get calories up? It's really a wasted calorie, but since I can't get my calories any other way, is a 'wasted/empty' calorie still a calorie when we're talking about growing a baby? I got a root beer from lunch so I'd have some calories..

I just tried to eat a wrapini at Jason's Deli.. om nom nom nom. I only was able to get 2.5 tiny bites down, but I never had a wrapini before, I highly endorse it!! Ironic & odd thing happened today. I'm not really telling my RL friends about the pregnancy yet, I told one coworker friend the minute I found out because I needed to freak out with someone, other than that, just family and LBT'ers! But I have the wedding in May of my best buddy out in albuquerque.. I can't go now, so I have been debating when to tell her. Well today at lunch she texts me, the engagement is off.. she thought he wanted kids too, but he doesn't. How ironic is that?

Oh, my obgyn has never had a banded patient before either, but she's been my gyn for years, so I don't want to swap. She has no opinion on the fill, in fact she called me in a horsepill Vitamin.. and I had to remind her I couldn't take that. And thanks

Interesting read nyllrap. My dermatologist is the one who saw my cholesterol 'problem', doing some routine bloodwork.. she told me to tell my GP. I saw him a week or so later, and brought it up. He asked about my history, and my dad is on Cholesterol medicine, but I have always had great cholesterol despite being overweight. Since they said it could be hereditary I just shrugged it off. I don't notice any effects from it, so unless he's concerned I'm not either. He told me to eat more fruits & veggies, blah blah blah.

I actually had a lot of fun in SA, and I liked the room of our lil' dump more than the B&B. B&B's just aren't my thang.. the people running it creeped me out (that old guy that sat there every day?!) and little cottages that look like amish stuff.. I dunno, just doesn't appeal to me. I did like sitting on the back porch with ya'll though, wish we could do that at least once a week :wink2:

I've been tight since my last fill, but it was managable. Starting a week ago, it was like suddenly someone pumped a lot of saline into my band, and I can't get anything solid down. So I called my doc when I got back in town Tuesday, they couldn't get me in till Sept. 8th. Later Tuesday I found out I was pregnant, so I assume the super tight came on due to this. I've been dancing with my doctor to get in ASAP for an unfill. No morning sickness thank goodness, but I'm paranoid that if it DOES hit, I can hardly swallow liquids without pain, I don't even want to know what vomiting would feel like right now. Suppose to go Monday (unless they change it-pending), and I have 2.5cc in a 4cc band.. going to ask him to take it to 1.5cc and go from there.

It was just funny.. My doc's office left the message about moving to Wednesday.. I just called them back, the girl who called is out of the office today, and the girl who answered said he is seeing patients on Monday so she's not sure why they wanted to move me. I said "I am pregnant and I can't eat, and I really need to not move if I don't have to".. so she said she's going to try to figure out why the girl wanted to reschedule me, and if I don't hear back from her by the end of the day come on Monday.

Huntsville International Airport! And the good news about travelling between there & Guntersville lake.. it's all interstate. You exit the airport onto I-565, 6 miles down you merge onto I-65 South and according to that website it's only about 25 miles from there.

Heh.. I told ya'll on Tuesday morning I called a local fill doctor to get info (the one who came and saw me when I was in the ER with potential appendicitis) since my band doc was booked.. Even though they were open I had to leave a voicemail for nurse & reception. They finally JUST NOW called me back. In my voicemail I mentioned not being able to eat, need unfill, etc. So she calls me and goes right into "I talked to Dr. M and he said we can do that, but you'll have to do the initial interview (as if I were going to get the surgery) which is $250, and then fills are $250". I was just thinking, wow, way to get business. He talked to me about my band when I was in the ER, and now I gotta pay him more money to talk about a pre-op interview? Gimme a break. That's not even the real issue though, I told her "I explained I had a problem and despite you being open Tues-Thurs, no one ever called me back. I don't like going to doctor's offices where they don't care to call the patient back in a timely manner" .. and hung up.

Mornin' V's! Yes, I have appt. to get an unfill and to get an ultrasound. The band doc's office called this morning and wants to reschedule to next Wed. Argh!! I am getting scared that I'm going to get morning sickness before I get this unfill, and it is so tight, even late at night I can't eat anything resembling solids. Sore boobs is the only indication I have, and they are very sore.. it's a very odd pain. I've been reading this pregnancy bible my mom bought me, and I read too much about the birthing process. I'm back to terrified again!! Epesiotimies? :tongue::wink2::wink:

I think yer crazy, size 16 will fit into a seat!! At size 22/24 and with my height I was able to squeeze into them (barely).

Mine went up to, never had any kind of problems with any blood work before.. but 1 year post-op my good cholesterol is down and bad cholesterol is up. My doc told me to eat more fruits & veggies.. and it's also hereditary, but I thought it was odd for it to happen a year from banding after losing 100lbs!!

I was answering the random questions people googled that pulled up my blog. One of them was 'pictures of lorcets'.. so I put it on there!

Everyone is different, but I don't have good news! I was optimistic because my mom was back to a taught size 0 after having 2 kids.. But, I have been overweight my entire life, and my stomach was huge. Now that I've lost weight, I have hanging flabby skin on my thighs and upper arms.. and my stomach looks like a deflated bread loaf. It's all puckered and gross. It's better than bein fat though! And I'm hopeful one day I'll get a TT.

Oh Nina, we can't get gas to our house, we're out of the city limits too.. But everything we have is electric, do they not have that there? Our stove, oven, heater, etc.. is all electric.
