Oh I wanted opinions on this, I decided not to do the triple test, where they check for genetic/birth disorders.. I figure either it's bad enough they won't survive, thus it wouldn't survive to term anyway... or, if it's something like down's, it's not going to change what we 'do', it would just inform us.. BUT they have the false positives, and follow up would be 2 hours away for amniotic testing which is dangerous to baby, then it could end up bring wrong all along, causing a lot of undue stress during this time. It really made me scared thinking of it, so I opted out. They told me I can call and schedule it if I change my mind, but I don't plan to. Any thoughts on this? Did any of you do it? My mom was told I had spinal ambifida, they wanted to abort. My mom is anti-abortion, so she refused.. ended up it was FALSE. I guess that's what really was my deciding factor.

Yeah she's been on birth control. He didn't say 5 months, I just calculated/rounded. I am 16 weeks/4 months and she is due 3 weeks before me, so that's about 5 months. She is 19 weeks, so that's 1 week shy. They do all the dating based on the 40 week thing, not sure if that makes a difference in what you're calculating (this stuff makes my head hurt reading the books/websites/doc advice based on 'timeline'). He said they were cuddling last night and he felt it kicking him. I was shocked, I figured that's like at 7-8 months.. But if I could just feel it move, I'd be thrilled. I bought a heart doppler, not sure if I mentioned that? Almost every night I find the heartbeat and listen to it till it slowly moves away..so I know it's moving because I'll hear it loud and clear, then it gets quieter and quieter, and if I move the wand I find it again.. so it's running from the wand!

Busy drumming up business at work, but just had to say a co-worker of mine came in to see me today, he said his wife is FIVE MONTHS PREGNANT and they just found out this week--because she felt it kicking. I've heard about this kind of thing, but wow. She is due April 3rd, and my co-worker is just glowing lol. She has been on b/c this whole time though, which would make me nervous. Plus no vitamins and blah blah, I'd prolly be freaking out, but I am just amazed they didn't know this whole time. He said last night it kicks so hard HE could feel it. Now I'm just jealous, *I* don't even feel my baby yet :eek:

Sorry about the situation with Robby Tracy, I have no sage advice, but I hope it resolves itself and what's best for Robby happens! That's so weird Haydee, small world indeed. I feel like food journal is my best bet too, but somehow when I start going over my daily intake I just stop recording, like.. it won't count if I don't put it down!! But I do try to calculate in my head at the end of the day 'roughly' how much I had. I think I 'roughly' had 3,500 yesterday.. yikes. I had 4 ice cream bars.. yeah, 4. The pepperoncini roast was amazing again, you couldn't tell I added anything..was still too spicy for me to have the au jus, but the meat tasted great. I am bouncing between 228-229lb for days, which made me happy. Then I do something stupid like 4 ice cream bars in 1 day. I haven't met any banders outside of LBT or my doc's office, but I've run into RnY patients. 10oz of Apple Juice & handful of cheerios for b'fast.

I never went to Hershey but my parents did and brought back some cool pics hehe (and candy).. the M&M plant I think it was where they have a bazillion colors. I went to the store and got the stuff for the pepperoncini roast.. that's what's for dinner tonight! I did make some changes this time, in hopes I can turn down the heat. They didn't sell a mild version :rolleyes2: I ended up not being able to eat any of the peppers last time and I had to drink Water after every bite of the rice. So this time I put the whole jar of juice, only half of the peppers, 1c of water and a packet of the lipton onion Soup. We'll see how it turns out, I was googling how to reduce heat in food and they said dilute whatever is making it hot.. so.. we shall see. I'm also making frozen strawberries in sf strawberry Jello. My g'ma made this a month or so ago and I was shocked at how good it was for sf jello. No one at the table knew it till she said it, and most people at the table hate 'diety' foods. Hope everyone is having a fun & safe weekend. My alcholic uncle that has been sober for uhm.. almost 6 months now.. got trashed yesterday. He had a party at his house (which is not unusual) and it was a big football game.. my dad said when he got there he was hammered and his friends were making him some more redbull & vodkas.. they were saying things like "It's good to have you back man!" With friends like that, who needs enemies. He was told he had less than a year to live if he didn't stop drinking and get his diabetes under control.. very sad.

Let Kris know, my docs refer to it as 'she' too, and we have no idea the sex. Russell has be in a 3-way IM with his mom. There may be some trouble coming down the pike, my family has a huge celebration for Thanksgiving with all our friends and family (normally about 30 people).. and we always go. We went to lunch with a friend who asked what we were doing for Thanksgiving, I told her.. and Russell said "This year, we should go see my parents, we've gone to your family's every time".. his family isn't even doing anything :eek: We can go to dinner at his parent's anytime!! His dad has been amidst surgeries for the edema? I forgot the name, swelling.. and they have no plans this year.. so I threw in there, inviting them to come and bring Russ' brothers. She said it depends on when he goes for his next leg surgery.. I hate to be the party pooper (or bitch, however he will see it), but I'm not going up there for Thanksgiving, I already give up Xmas day every year with my extended family to go to his parents.. and Tday is one of the biggest celebrations in my family!!

Russell's freebie is Kate uhm.. something, she's in the Underworld movies. I saw preview for Underworld 3 and was telling my sister that was Russ' freebie, and that didn't really look like her, she's normally hot.. ends up U3 has them aged or something, she looked weird.. no eyebrows and.. I dunno. His freebie use to be Sandra Bullock, but then he said SHE GOT TOO OLD!! My freebies don't age, so pff.. Johnny Depp.. And I have a special freebie, phone sex with Sean Connery.. hah hah. I wouldn't want to touch him, but his voice is so sexy. Madonna must get around, my mom was having me look up ticket prices just the other day when they were in Chicago cause she was there too for a few days.. I could not imagine living that kind of lifestyle, flying from gig to gig every day. Just sold a printer on Craigslist for my g'pa.. took a lot of work, people kept emailing then backing out. I was selling it for 1/3 the cost online I found, and he never even opened it! Guy finally picked it up today, said it's a xmas gift for his daughter.. how sweet! I just got my xmas gift today that is for my secret-santa--receiver? It's only Nov. 7th and I am 90% done christmas shopping. YAAAAY MEEEEEE. Didn't even get my Christmas fund from work yet, and I looked at our paychecks, will be a nice lil' bonus.

I had a dream about my V's last night! We were off on an adventure. I remember a dirty lake (with turtles & snakes--lots & visible) and I refused to get in, but I watched. Pam had this long gorgeous thick hair, that's really all that stuck out to me besides the turtles & snakes. I kept thinking.. I WANT HAIR LIKE THAT!!! LOL Haydee- We kind of settle on names, just so we have something to call it. For a month now we've called it "Izzy-Carson". So I guess right now Isabelle & Carson are the front runners. It changes every month though, last month it was "Lily-Blake". I can't wait to find out the sex. I can't wait to feel it move!! Some people feel their baby move 3 weeks ago! I'm 16 weeks and 2 days.. and still don't feel nothin'. My nose has been stuffy,itchy, and sneezy for a month now, it is so bad in the morning. I can't take benadryl at work, the few times I did it, I was sorry and ended up having to take naps. Tracy maybe you are pregnant! har har har :thumbs_up: Oh and last time I weighed myself (about 2 weeks ago) I was at 229lb.. gyno weighed me at 234lb Tuesday, with my big shoes on.. anyway, last night I weighed on my trusty scales and I was 229lb still. Actually, here in Alabama it is banned for interracial marriages. It's an old law on the state constitution, and I know a few years ago they had a whatever to try to update the constitution, and I believe they decided to leave the interracial marriage ban in as historical nostalgia-- but it's no longer enforced.

Hah hah ya'll are funny. I don't balance anything, I just make sure I always have X amount in the account.. and we're always way above that. Only time I write checks is for bills that I couldn't sign up for auto-deduction.. and I use my debit card when I go out.

Sister & her gf broke up last night. Tried to invite her to lunch today, she's being all mopey.. which really is odd, cause due to her gf's personality I don't see how she ever liked her to begin with, and when she got sober (for a minute) she didn't like her.. but she can't be single some reason.. I'm sure she'll be engaged again by next week.

Mine is right under the skin so I can feel every spot of it in detail.. but mine is in my chest, so I can't answer about the port showing, mine won't be changing! If your port does pop out, you could always tell your husband that it's the baby's foot and it likes to stretch a lot... just kidding.. kind of.

I'm 16 weeks and I still have no signs of pregnancy.. so.. don't feel bad!! I feel fat when I push on my belly, and no kicks or anything exciting. I am also 6'0 and due to my first trimester weight gain (ahem) I am back to needing to lose 50lbs.

We went to this Mexican restaurant (for margaritas) and she is white chili (blonde hair blue eyed mexican, for those who don't know) with a big ol' southern accent. So she is asking the waiter about something I didn't understand.. it was not on the menu, yet they had it-- sausage, eggs, and somethin.. I tried it, it was pretty spicy. So she was saying mexican breakfasts are awesome--then told us about this thing. So she made it this morning so we could all try it. I could add she's an extremely blonde blonde, the blonde jokes were made for her. She didn't know who McCain was about a week ago when I was talking to her. She also believes you can get pregnant from oral sex. So mexican breakfast could just mean any breakfast with meat (in her mind). I am black listing a lot of places these days. No more chic-fil-a with the nasty flavors.. and I have realized I no longer like chinese food. It's been a long time coming, I use to love it-- but my taste for it has been gone for a while.. the place I loved as a kid, Russell likes it and everytime we go I hate it more and more. TGIF's had that awesome bacon-wrapped shrimp, but since the day they undercooked it (raw shrimp, uggggh), TGIF's makes me queasy to even think about going there. I need new places to eat for lunch. Cracker Barrel on the other hand, we go there every Wed. night and I normally get the same few things.. with my fish craze I got their broiled catfish one week and it was phenomenal!! So I was getting tired of their food, and now I like em again. Rambling.. trying to pass time, it's been a weird day here.

That's sweet Judy :smile2: My mom realized today that her big 5-0 is next year. Dun dun dun. They celebrated their 31st anniversary this year, I wanted to throw them a party for the 30th, but she said since everyone she knows is divorced, it's like bragging party and she'd feel bad.. My favorite part of Thanksgiving is my granny's gravy.. with giblets and all that fun gross stuff in it. It is so good, I eat it like a soup.. shh, yeah I'm weird. And dark meat turkey.. mmm.. can't buy it like that.

Tracy, the one we always make is a version of the popular ones online you can find.. but they use cream of mushroom, and my mom hates mushrooms so we have always used cream of celery in it. So maybe I am bias, but I think it's good like that. Can of green beans drained, can of cream of celery, 1/2 can of milk..mix together, top with the onions and bake for 30 minutes(ish) at 350. Chic-fil-a jumped the shark with their 'new recipe' :smile2: :tongue2: I am so sad!! I don't like chicken, but I love chic-fil-a. I rarely eat there due to russ being allergic to peanut oil (edit typo!).. but I told ya'll I went there the other night for a salad.. well, I ended up not eating the chicken cause it tasted funky. I thought it was a pregnancy thing. I got it again today for lunch, and I made a comment to Russ about it tasting weird (we went to the one in the mall so he could get chinese) and he pointed out the sign said "New recipe!" on the chicken strips. What the hell?! People love chic-fil-a, why would they change the recipe?!?! Why not just have "Try our new style" or something so us folks who don't want a new recipe can still enjoy it :wink5: He told me it was on almost everything on the menu ("New recipe"). Anyway, not really thrilled about that since I've been wanting their salads. Haydee my friend gave me the recipe-- Sausage Squares You will need 1 casserole dish 2 lbs of sausage 1 box of original cream cheese 4 – 5 crescent rolls pending on size of dish Preheat oven to 375 Brown sausage Layer bottom of casserole dish w/ 2 cans of rolls (like a pie crust) Drain sausage Stir cream cheese into sausage Spoon sausage mixture into dish Lay the remaining rolls on top of sausage mix and press outer edges together. Bake for 11 – 13 minutes. Best served when cooled.

I just say count your blessings, I've gained 17lbs in the first 3 months (No morning sickness) and I'm not even showing yet..

That's what I was wondering Haydee, looks like we could change the color. We watched McCain speak to congratulate Obama, and all the crowd was yelling out stuff and Boo'ing everytime he said Obama or Biden. Was real surprising. I wanted McCain to win too, but this isn't like a football game.. Anyway, time to start hoarding money!! My friend brought in some mexican breakfast this morning. We went to a restaurant last night and she was talking about this mexican b'fast, so she said she'd make it for today. It was good, I've actually made something similar before but mine was too cream cheesy and too rich to eat. It's just sausage and cream cheese in a crust. Was so good, one tiny square was great.. little rough going down but I managed. And because I managed, I had to get another piece?! Now I'm PBing.. wee.

Was talking to Russ about reporting it, etc.. and he agrees I should call, he said he didn't realize they didn't card me or he would have said something (I noticed if you used a driver's license they copied a lot of info--which took a while).. for me, they just took my registration postcard and let me through. So, guess I call tomorrow. He and I are camped out with laptops in the living room watching to see who our next president is. And I want to say, even if Obama wins--wish is not my wish-- I am a patriotic person, and will support him as prez

If I call and report though, will that mean they'll say there was some fraud goin on and blah blah and our votes won't count at that station? :/

What makes me more upset, is that I got absentee ballots from New Mexico. 2 of them. One for each address I use to live at in NM. And I register everytime I move. So it's like they don't keep a trail, yet SOMEHOW they knew how to find me in Alabama?! I still don't understand how it happened. One of the ballots even had my married name. I registered when we moved to Alabama, I changed registration when we moved in Alabama, I changed registration again when I got married. So I technically could have voted twice in NM, and once in AL.. That's--sad. I'm an honest person who wouldn't do that, but think of all the people out there that will take advantage of this.
