Couldn't get on LBT the past little bit!! :tongue2: Went to obgyn this morn, things look good.. she is sending me to an allergist for my nose 'thing'. I've had this for months, not sure why all of a sudden she thinks I should go somewhere.. but whatever! I lost weight and for someone who gives me a what-for everytime I come in for GAINING weight, she didn't say ONE WORD about the weight loss. Didn't even acknowledge it. :tt2: On the way to work from the doc though, something interesting happened. At a stop light, on a busy 6-lane road.. there's a car, a cop, and me (all in line) behind the red light. Turns green, they both take off slow, so as soon as we get through the intersection I move to the middle lane and start going 50 (speed limit is 45). Then the car--right in front of the cop--gets up to 60 (approx. he goes flying by me). DUH cop puts his lights on to pull him over.. the guy isn't stopping and 2 more cops appear out of THIN AIR (seriously, I don't know where they came from).. so by time they cut him off--it's right in the middle of one of the busiest intersections in Huntsville. So this turd speeds in front of a cop and then closes up an extremely busy intersection. What a !@#$. Brought a Lean Cuisine for lunch, looks like a lasagna with 2 breaded chicken patties? They need to get away from italian food, not all of us like italian!!!

Love how you can so elegantly answer Kat, I was just about to put in something not so nice in response to bringing abortion into a discussion so randomly like that... I love my Violet, Oh yes I dooooo...

You're not allowed to run away from us Tracy, that was rule #3 when becoming a V!!!!! Just to reitterate what they all said, you're not alone.. we all have done this at some point, jeez if we were all perfect angels we'd have never needed the band to begin with :rose: Welcome back, stick around!! :tongue2: Glad you're getting some good (albeit mixed) news Kat. I lost 2lbs since my last doc visit (2 weeks ago), and 3lbs total for this month. Hellllls yah!!!!!!!!!! I am making sure to wear light clothes to my appt. tomorrow so she doesn't think I gained. Last time I went I had heavy clothes on that literally added about 8-10lbs, so I got grief about that. I weigh myself at home in undies tho, so I have a more accurate count. Off to bed... I love my Violets, oh yes I dooooo....

Exactly! And as time passes with the band, we lose that dedication and excitement, but we can get back on the wagon at any point. Hope that 5-day pouch test helps! I haven't done it yet, but the group I frequent several ladies have and they said it helped jump start all those things you remember from when you were first banded.

Entering Biggest Loser Contest at Gym be cheating?
Daisalana replied to singledad167's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
They actually had 'auditions' somewhere near where I was getting banded, and I joked about going over there. I wouldn't want my trials/tribulations with weight loss on TV, but if they don't say anything about weight loss surgeries, I don't think it's cheating. -

Daisalana replied to cattoy71's topic in The Lounge
Uhm... no it doesn't bother me.. and I am self-pay too. I would be annoyed if someone said "Can you donate money to help me" or something similar.... but ranting about not having the funds, well.. feels better to get it off your chest, yea? I like to bitch about my crappy insurance which is horribly expensive--and about to triple for me in a couple months, and they don't even cover this stuff.. Bastards. -
Thinking of surgery? Scared? Read my story....

Welcome to LBT, glad you found us. I think having a good support group has been important for my weight loss.. Have you gone to the doc for a fluero to see if you have stretched the pouch? Here's a 5-day pouch test some people I know use to reshrink/get back in the game... Surgical Weight Loss 5 Day Pouch Test

I was too tight right from the beginning, so I had a small unfill. Since then I've gone from too open, to too tight, in a matter of a day and I just go with it. Due to this, I have gained 44lbs so far (Waaah). I've tried watching what I eat, and exercising more, but my body is pretty reluctant to lose any weight right now.. 44lb gain is with some plateaus (i've been on one for a couple weeks now thank goodness), and I'm just having to deal with it. But, I am getting my fill back as soon as I have my baby and I'm confident I'll lose it all again. Even on too open days, heartburn is killer for me. I had chronic heartburn pre-band days, then heartburn went away after losing about 60-80lbs.. now it's back and I can't take my beloved prilosec I live on Zantacs (which I don't think work very well) and Tums (ditto). It's not band related heartburn like being too tight, it's just part of being pregnant.

I was up at 3am, this stupid nose allergy whatever this is thing. Strikes really bad in the middle of the night, I go through a box of tissues. and it itches SO BAD.. it wouldn't stop last night so I got up and got on the computer, read some forums. Finally got back to sleep around 5:45. Connor is actually a name I liked (middle school crush was named Connor) but Russ didn't like it Russ has lost 10lbs so far doing Atkins. I have plateaud (WHEW) again on my weight gain. I go back to the doc tomorrow, she has me coming in every 2 weeks now. Hope you're getting some good news Kat! I keep meaning to say WOOWOO Pam on all that you've done on the diss :cursing: Hope everyone else has a good day. BLEH Mondays  OH and Terry, I plan to take maternity leave for as long as I need to 2-6 weeks, and then I have a secretary office connected to my office that I am going to have Carson in (bought a portable crib for in there). I'll probably work half-days, or whole days depending on his temperment, etc. I am paid commission, and 99% of my customers communicate via e-mail, so I shouldn't miss too much with my blackberry and computer at home.

Anyone notice Post Banders are a bit snobbish?
Daisalana replied to El Diablo's topic in General Weight Loss Surgery Discussions
Wasn't going to respond to OP since it was a 'joke', but after seeing some responses, and knowing this topic has come up before I felt like speaking up! My quick response to this perception is this--- When you're new to banding, and new to the forum you're extremely gung-ho and all over the place. You post all over, repeat the same questions the new bander before you did, etc. You can't wait to help someone as you discover something (You were just asking about fills, now your first fill is here, the newer bander just asked about fills, you're more than happy to help!). The gung-ho wears off, and you settle into a groove, you've met some people from the forum (some of us lucky enough to meet RL!!) and for some of us, it monopolizes most of our time- monthly groups, or R&R, etc.. I don't have questions about fills anymore, so I rarely go to fills area. Likewise to a lot of different areas on the forum. That's kind of like someone saying (to a new bandster) that they are snobbish because they don't go to all the "Local" forums of every location and talk to people. It's just not where you end up. If I have a lot of free time I will wander to areas that have nothing for me information wise, to try to help others out if I can. I don't subscribe to threads, so I don't often see a response or follow up question. I may stumble across the thread again at some point, but by then it's been months since the thread was active and no need to even post again. There's so many different personalities on the forum, and even more so the people who have a strong 'internet' personality.. newbies or oldies alike, can become confrontational, annoying, snobbish, overbearing, etc. I don't think clumping any group together is fair. The world takes all kinds of people! -
So tired.. as you can see!! We went to the mall, he wanted me to pick out my v'day present--a necklace. He wanted something to match the sapphire earrings he got me one year, and sapphire bracelet I got last year. Can't tell from any pics I took, but they are sapphires! Cleaned and cooked, and now I'm about to pass out. Ah.. being pregnant. Speakin' of which, saw a couple drops of colostrum tonight.. that was bizarre.

I had a couple drops of colostrum(sp) today.. weird!!!!!!!!! -
I haven't read every page.. Has it been brought up how she gets disability, but she plans to go back to work when she gets her degree? Like her "disability" in any way correlates with her education. We should all be so lucky to claim "disability" to pay for our way of life until we get our degree. Especially if that way of life involves 14 kids. Right? RIGHT?!

I think they are splenda, not malitol.. but DH is not a sweet eater, so one bag of like 8 candies lasts him a month.
-
Happy birthday Suzanne!! Happy V-D eh? I would think that's UNhappy!! We are going to our favorite restaurant tomorrow night (we go for Valentines every year).. that's it. I got him 2 new baseball hats and some sugar free chocolates--did ya'll know Hershey now has a line? I never saw them till yesterday, caramel filled chocolates.. mmm....

Yeah that girl has had lips done at the very least, and I saw her website today asking for money donations and you can send her 'items'. I am just all kinds of mad. The website also hasa place to submit 'comments'.. I was tempted to write something nasty, then realized there's plenty of others who will do it for me. It also baffles the mind, how she says one day when she graduates college--she plans to go back to work. Until then, she's disabled.. right. Wish we could all claim disability and get the state to pay for our lives, fertility treatments, and babies.. while we work on getting a degree. Argh ok, don't want to think about this before bed.. Night V's!!!
-
Yeah that's interesting..I've never counted bites, so no perception of it, but I would think a non-banded person this would not be enough food..or they'd take extra large bites which would defeat the purpose right? Hm.. let me know how it goes
-
I was kinda thinking that too Judy (I hang a yankee candle air freshener too!!). LOL @ that pic.. I thought Bob lost the belly, I don't remember seeing it in other pics???
-
Our HR person said the individual + child is not available thru BCBS, she said that sounds like a government employee thing. Oh any of you like TGIF? Got a coupon a customer fwded to me (email), you can buy 1 entree, get 2nd entree FREE. Valid till 3/1.. and you can reuse it (even says so on the coupon).. just print out more. Anyway, thought you guys might want it, if you do e-mail me and I'll fwd it back to you! That's where we're going tomorrow for lunch..

Haydee- that wasn't an option, but I'm going to ask.. Michelle, to avoid kids puking in the car.. if they look sick or say anything out of the ordinary you THROW THEM OUT OF THE MOVING CAR.. duh.

Band isn't what I thought it would be
Daisalana replied to Cleo's Mom's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sorry that it's not working for you, and unfortunately it just isn't for everyone  I was afraid of RnY, and I decided I would do the band as a first resort (last resort against dieting) for surgeries.. if it didn't work, I was going to move on to something else. Some people it never fits right (what you explained was me when I am too loose--and when I am too tight). For you to have both instances at once, it just sounds like the band isn't working for you the way it "should". It would be nice if they had a way of testing how a band will work with someone before they get it, so these things don't happen.
