  1. Don't watch Marley & Me right now!!! I watched it in my 7th or 8th month, makes you sad about having kids and it ruining the relationship.. It had me really paranoid and weepy some nights thinking the intimacy between DH & I would be over.. But, so far it has not been that way lol.

I thought the prop 8 thing was weird. For them to allow the current unions but not new ones. What kind of message is that??? Either you're for it or you're against it. I think it should be allowed, but I don't understand saying 'these are ok.. but no more'. That doesn't make any sense. That's the other thing I read Heather about waiting till 6 months. It says they can't digest it properly and causes more digestion problems; my mom rolled her eyes when I told her that and then says things like "You'll learn". But the obesity thing really gave me pause, what if that's what went wrong! Oh they also say it increases chances of food allergies.. Carson is already high risk since Russ is allergic to stuff.

Yeah we started with the Mylicon, I still use it occasionally; but it normally doesn't do much.. that's why I swear by the Colic Calm, it helps within 2 minutes, he turns into a new baby.. all happy and pain free. From what I read it's only the first 13 weeks when they typically have digestion problems because their digestive system is still figuring out how to work.. fingers crossed, I hate those pain cries  Despite lack of eating and no sodas (that's hard, I got back into them during pregnancy!!), my scale isn't moving. Argh. I am trying not to check, but I keep checking anyway cause I figure "It's gotta change today". I keep bouncing between 253-256  I think I need more fill, they want me back in a month so I'll go ahead and go and get another fill. Bummer. Oh and rice cereal--my mom is like anti-everything I tell her in the books because it contradicts everything she ever did, and she's always right of course. She keeps saying since he's so hungry, give him some rice cereal in the bottle to help him sleep through the night. The 'books' say wait till 6 months and never put it in the bottle. She keeps bringing it up, and everyone who had kids a while ago agree with her. My peds are non-conventional, and we go back June 16, so I'll ask them then what they think. But meanwhile, she keeps rolling her eyes that I don't do it. But you know what I read????? It said they did a study and it showed babies fed rice cereal before 6 months, it messes up their ability to tell when they are 'full' because of the empty carbs in rice cereal. So, it said there's a link between feeding rice cereal and messing up the 'full' receptors and adult obesity. HMMMMM.

He isn't colicky, he just has bad gas pains.. definition of colic makes me want to pull my hair out lol.. 3 hours straight at least 3x a week, at least 3 weeks in a row of non-stop crying. He doesn't do that, he just has a hard time with gas pains at night (lasts 20-30m with me holding him and rubbing his belly). I ordered 3x bottles of Colic Calm to have around and they're out of stock.. now I gotta be treating my current bottle like gold lol. As for pacifiers.. I don't mind him having them, he hasn't liked them since day 1. In the hospital my ped. said don't give him a paci till he's a week old (I guess for nipple confusion). On day 2 in the hospital the nurses brought him in to me and said he won't stop crying, so he can't stay in the nursery (looking back, it's probably because he wasn't getting any food from me!!!) so I asked her what she recommends.. she said paci.. I said my doc said not to use the paci yet.. and she just kinda shrugged--that 'well..whatever' shrug. I gave him the paci, he didn't want it. To this day there's only 1 brand (we tried 6 now) that he will take, but only if we force it into his mouth and hold it till he stops fussing, then he'll suck on it. And this is rare, sometimes he still refuses it if we force it on him. Needless to say, we don't give it to him much. I read it helps prevent SIDS, so I have tried to force it on him for that reason alone..and I figured it would help him swallow when I can tell he has reflux I try to get him to take it.. but he won't. Oh well. Plus side is we'll never have to wean him from it!

Woohoo 100lb is great!!! I was at one point, I get to celebrate it AGAIN eventually... Just popped in real quick to say for Heather.. and maybe Judy although I imagine Grady is past this point.... Carson doesn't have Colic really, but he definitely has digestion issues.. especially at night, he wakes up in horrible pains and I have to massage him and just ride it out with him (but it's not nearly as long as true colic). Anyway, I bought "Colic Calm" which is the only FDA approved gripe water (which suppose to help with digestion pains)..I gave him half a dose when I first got it a week or so ago and it helped but didn't seem any different from the gas-x drops (Mylicon). Tonight he's just been so upset with pains, so I gave him a full dose.. wow. It's like a totally different baby; he must always be in pain He actually smiled and giggled while eating it.. must be like candy, it has peppermint in it. Then he was wide-eyed and just a really happy baby..now he let me lay him down with absolutely no fussing (first lately, he's always cranky when I try to put him down). So I'll swear by it lol. Only complaint is it's like a black ink, solid black. So it can make a mess if not given nice and slow.. and I use a kitchen rag for if he spits any out or spills.

I'm going to an engagement party of sorts for a coworker tonight.. I just made a card LOL out of samples in our sample room (I completely forgot to get a card). I am excited, it's going to be a boozefest but in the last 20 minutes I have developed a MIGRAINE.. ugh.

I expected Adam to win, but didn't care either way.. wasn't a fan of anyone this year unfortunately.
  10. Woops.. for chewable, I forgot what I was going to take. I thought I needed that too... but I got a sample pack of what my doctor wanted to Rx me.. and I tried them (despite being horse pills, they were very slick) and I ended up taking them the entire pregnancy; Prenate DHA.

Breastfeeding didn't work with us, I tried and then tried pumping, and it was just an uphill battle and finally gave up.

I read, and watch! I ran out of things to say I guess hehe. Just biding my time at work with Carson these days :cursing: He's making a lot of noises right now, hoping he's trying to make some coos in there (although they sound like non-intentional whines). I think the hardest part of having him at work, is that when he wants to eat; he wants to eat NOW!! And I have to make the bottle, go to the coffee pot and get hot water to set it in and then wait a minute or two to heat up. By then he's shrieking like someone is cutting off his fingers.

Glad you asked Haydee, I was afraid to sound stupid by asking hah hah. Woohoo.. Dr. Moneybags, I mean Pam is treating us to dinner?!
  14. Uhm.. don't see anything offensive about it. Think it's rather clever really. I was just noticing yesterday on the 6 hour road trip to my band doc how billboards these days try to cram way too much message on there, and then a lot of them didn't even make sense!!! There was one that said-- "Big bang theory??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME?" -God And it was advertising for a Fybromyalgia (sp) group. --- Another one "A parent who hosts, is a parent who loses the most". --- What do these things even mean?! So yeah, a nice to the point-- do you eat too much, get the band! Does the job. As for surgery on billboards, they're very big in Alabama.. haven't seen a lapband one, but there's a crap load of cardiac surgery billboards around here (which I found odd, who looks at a billboard for that info). And Realize is all over my Tivo lately. At the bottom of every screen it says Wanna Lose Weight? Realize Band can help (something like that).
  15. I think you should hold off Heather on the pump, if you have no problems and want to do it on occasion a cheap manual is the way to go. If you do have problems, I'd say spend the $100 more than I did and get the hospital grade..

Never had a scone, and they don't sound good. Not a fan of fruit in bread. I HAVE been to a rodeo tho. Prolly more than 1, but I remember 1 a few years ago; they are a lot of fun, I agree you need to WRANGLE up Macy & Frank and go :purplebananna: Fill is good so far I guess, I ate goldfishes and gummi bears for dinner :/ He said I had 2cc when I got preg, they took out .5cc.. he put in 1cc, so I am at 2.5cc. I would think I'd be very tight, but I'm not 'very tight'. See if it takes a week to migrate.

Glad you had fun Michelle & Kat!! Mom babysat Carson again last night, then we had our weekly family cookout today and he gets passed around so much it really overdoes it for him..so much so that he is too tired to sleep by nighttime and is very upset. I need to figure out what to do for cookouts, to keep my gparents from getting offended that they need to let him rest away from everyone for a while. My dad's not following his diabetic diet.. his blood sugar was 205 tonight. Mom tested mine and hers too a couple times today. Mine was 103 this morning and 95 at night.. I was prediabetic at one point, looks like I'm way in the clear now, a normal for when you haven't eaten is between 90-125. I just took a shower so I got a second wind (I have noticed lately I feel SO GOOD after having a shower). We go tomorrow to fill my band up--SO EXCITED. Crap, Carson just woke up...

Awww she looks so much like you Tracy!! He sleeps a lot, he's little!! They followed him around (her assistant) with a personal heater that I swear was a thousand degrees.. when we did the pics together she was holding the heater on us and I was fogging up and sweating. The photographer is really good with babies, she said she was a nanny for 5 years.. she would pat his bum till he fell back asleep.. they set everything up while we waited, and then basically just move him from set to set.. and if he stirred she would pat his bum. The only problem we had was the last one where he's in the lace bag (like stork carrying him).. she said he was bein such a good baby, she would do that one more set for a bonus.. she prolly regrets sayin it, he woke up hungry so had to feed him.. then (they would drape diaper on him moving set to set) she moved the diaper, put him in the lace contraption (kind of hard), and posed him...and then he peed all over, including his face lol.. so she had to unwind him, clean him, get him back to sleep, and re-do it all. I ended up not liking those as much, they were kind of creepy some reason. I'm going to see Angels and Demons tomorrow.. woohoo.
  19. Good luck :tt1: I guess I could mention the pump brands I used. The manual pump was Medella.. it was alright, but after several days of a lot of use, the plastic parts stretched out or something so the suction was lightened (not good). The $200 electric one I got was Lansinoh dual electric.. It was alright, it says how to do both at once (balance one cup in the crook of your arm while holding the other)- I never could maneuver this, maybe due to the size of my breasts..so I pumped 1 at a time and boxed the 2nd one. Like I said, still wasn't impressed with it

I don't know about cucumbers, but it works with eggplant so it should be the same.. Cut up the cucumber, douse them with salt and cover with a paper towel.. let it sit for 30m-1h. The salt soaks up the moisture, then dust the salt off before using in the salad.

Luckily his baby acne waited 2 days after these photos.. He is broken out like a teenager, it's crazy. I never had acne, so everyone keeps asking where he gets it.. hah, but apparently it has nothing to do with that, it's a surge of leftover hormones from me that cause it but suppose to go away in a couple weeks to a couple months. It looks painful, his cheeks are hard from all the acne.. pauvre bebe.

Just poppin in real quick, I am so exhausted today (more so than usual). Carson hasn't slept much today; he's a little fussy when not held, but he's just been alert and wanting to be entertained, which is hard since he can't play yet. Pam, that book is awesome! SOMEHOW I actually forgot about it, my mom introduced me to that book years ago, it's such a beautiful story. Thank you ) Russ said he made Carson have a full fledged smile 2x today. I have him most of the time and I haven't had a real full one yet, Russ has him 10 minutes and bam. He said he was nuzzling his nose.. I gobble his neck and nuzzle and NOTHIN. Boo  He said he definitely has dimples on both sides. Wonder where they came from!
  24. The short of the BFing with me.. I had colostrum the last few months of pregnancy.. in the hospital I said he is BFing so they weren't feeding him, but I have flat nipples, so the hospital provided pumps.. told me to pump before feeding.. so I did.. still was quite an ordeal, he would latch fine, but I don't know if anything was coming out. So 2 days home from the hospital we went to doc, his jaundice was climbing pretty steady and he had lost too much weight--so he wasn't getting anything from me.. so they told me to put him on formula for the time being.. I did, and used a manual pump (only planned to pump occasionally, so had this ahead of time.. not good for when I needed to pump all day every day!!). Milk never came in big like it's suppose to..so I bought a $200 electric pump (still a piece of crap.. mom says the pumps just don't get as much out as a baby would.. I dunno). Anyway, was only ever able to pump 1oz combined at a time, and I would mix it with formula. Tried nursing on and off for 2 weeks while pumping, it was such a headache, my milk was on a steady decline and he had been so use to bottles he didn't care to 'work' for food anymore.. so I gave it all up completely about a week ago. It was disappointing, I planned to BF for the first 3 months.

I actually do that all the time Terry, I don't use my home #, so I never remember it right lol. When you called me, I was trying to call Russ.. so I was like what the heck.. ended up hanging up on both of you, that's why I had to call you back. Ya'll remember my Pandora kitty we put down last year I have this lil clay figurine I made of her when she was a kitten, and it says her name.. last night one of my cats ate the head off of it!!!!!!!! We're havin' serious animal issues, since that bag of bad Purina.. we got this Natural Life or something, but it ends up cats can overdose on it--we have 1 piggie cat and 1 picky cat. So one cat overdosed and has been squirting diarhea, the other one hasn't eaten in a few days.. argh. Gotta go to the store to get yet again another bag of food today. Meanwhile our dog's thyroid has been acting up, so she takes forever to eat; cowers and acts like she's in trouble because we have to tell her to eat a 1,000 times before she will. She goes to the vet tomorrow to get more thyroid meds. I'm gonna be pissed if I end up havin to take my cats to the vet because of Purina's bad bag of food causing this chain reaction with them. Kids, cats, and dogs.. oh my. I go see the proofs for Carson's photos today, YAY.
