I'm with musicalmomma. After reading that I'm just a little shocked. You're very non-chalant about all this crazy stuff in your life? My sister has BP and she actually sounds a lot like what you just said..she has a lot of drama and gets herself into it.. drinking and smoking weed while on her meds (all under the age of 21..), so she blacks out, bad things happen to her, and she shrugs and does it again the next night.. Not to get into it, but I worry that you do have something mentally wrong..?

Well, she came back from hold and said "The $500 was for blah blah, not the CRNA". I said, well I have a list breaking down what exactly I ALREADY PAID for, and CRNA is not on my list. And she puts me on hold again.. then I got disconnected. I called back, and the lady says "Disregard this bill" and I said, send me something saying to disregard it for my records, so she is. I'm guessing either they are trying to rip me off, or rip off my insurance. My insurance isn't paying for this, but I guess they thought it was and wanted to milk more money from them. No wonder premiums are so high! Jenn- I *was* charged a flat rate, that's why I was really mad. The doctor gave me a breakdown of 4 different people I had to pay XXX amount to the tune of $15,000--BEFORE my surgery. I was told this is ALL my expenses, except the less than $50 barium swallow which would be billed to me, and this also includes 6 post-op visits for fills. So an extra $1,100 is a big deal considering it's not on my 'list'. If the Anesthesia people weren't going to fix this, I was going to be very pissed at my surgeon tomorrow when I get my fill!

Hey guys, little miffed today. Got a bill from Anesthesia yesterday.. $1,100 dollars. I was told the anesthesia was $500, which I paid for up front. Now it's 3x that? I'm on hold with the Anesthesia's office, she said 'You ran over 30 minutes'.. so I said, ok first hour is 500, and then 500 every 15m after that???? So I'm on hold, it doesn't even show me being credited for the $500. I'm really irritated that no one told me I was going to have an $1,100 additional bill. Even after surgery the doctor should have mentioned something?! I was told by the doctor, there would be 2 things I hadn't paid for- 1. the barium swallow and the x-ray for the barium swallow, both of which he said were under $50.. and they were, I got the bill for both of those already and paid. But I feel like someone is jerking me around with a bill 3x as much as I was told it would be.

My initial operation burps (and poots) whew.. that was a lot.. That's all gone now, but everytime I drink or eat, I get burps. Small quiet ones. I figured it comes with the territory now! I look forward to them, it lets me 'feel' the room I have left.

That is a good idea. My fiance is not a very good.. nurturer. Anytime I have issues with something--today for example, he wanted chinese, I wanted to be able to try it, so I wanted to bring it home in case I had problems I could vomit in the comfort of my own home. But he pissed and moaned till I agreed to eat there, because he didn't want it 'getting cold.. even though it's 90 degrees outside!!!!! And.. I did have a problem with it, but it was right off, so I was able to stop eating and sit there while he ate, then got me a Wendy's chili on our way home. That's a small example, but he's not very understanding of my situations with this. I'm learning, and I need his patience. Also, he thinks this is just going to be another diet I fail. The determination and commitment I have in this seems to have gone over his head. He did come to the conference to learn about the band, and I liked that.. I thought about inviting him to check out the boards, but I don't like him nosing around (and he would) about what I post. I stay off his forums, I don't want him on mine LOL!

Hopefully noone is getting seriously offended here now, the topics being discussed are really fascinating to see the different opinions in 'one room' so to speak. I guess we surround ourselves (well, some of us) in what we are. I'm not use to ANYONE saying they are 'for' abortion. Generally speaking everyone I know (including myself) believes in extreme circumstances, re: will kill the mother, rape, incest- it's ok.. otherwise, no. We all complain about how cushy prison is.. I say this from experience.. I haven't been to prison, but my brother and both of my fiance's brothers have done 10 years collectively, and every single one of them thought it was a joke. And all 3 are the type of people that needed repercussions to straighten them out, which they didn't get...because of how cushy prison was for them. I'm normally alone however in the group of people believing death penalty is a good thing. Let's keep this thread rolling along!

Propel makes me ick.. too too fake sweetness. I'm glad I'm not the only one though. I still can't binge like I use to, but I definitely am getting too hungry for my happiness. Time for my fill!! I'm hoping it makes me feel like I did after surgery, I was tight and didn't care to eat, so I only ate just to get sustenance. Now I'm making iffy choices.. not on a daily basis, but its in my head on a daily basis. Had half a slice of cheesecake last night and today had a chili AND Baked potato.

Congratulations!! Even when I hit 'goal' I plan to be in 12/14.. woohoo for 10's!

I am banded, I'm not saying you shouldn't quit, because of course that is ideal and if you can, you should! I plan to quit in about 2 years.. but I haven't had any complications due to smoking.. I don't know what you meant about the saliva??

I think cooking ahead and freezing is the best option. But what I did for my fiance is buy him a lot of frozen dinners. He ended up eating fast food/pizza 80% of the time anyway, but if your family likes frozen dinners-- voila!

Tracy- I haven't tried the jeans lately since my weight loss has stopped! I did finally hit that 310 mark like I said, which was nice since I've been stuck at 311-314. I take my measurements every saturday, I did lose another inch on my waist, but the sexy jeans I bought when I was like 290lb..and they didn't fit then. So, I overestimated how quickly I'd lose, unless this fill on Wed. works some miracles, will be a while longer before those jeans fit!

Yes, keep your chin up Jennifur! The right job will come along --- And about PBing in a restaurant, I notice I feel stuck, and do the same stupid thing everytime- feel stuck, big gulp of Water, stuck more and shortly after up comes the water and food- when I eat too fast. Last time I went out to dinner with my mom she said 'Please don't throw up!!' and I said "If I'm going to, I have time to get to the bathroom'. I don't 'slime' though, still haven't experienced that yet. I think it's 3 times now, that I've eaten too fast, gulped water, and let it come out. 2 times I did it into a bottle nearby at home, 3rd time I ran to the bathroom and did it. Fiance laughs at me :waytogo:

Zannie- I had been told prenatal vitamins would be a good option. I was given LIQUID Lortab Rx for pain. I was told no pills for 2 weeks. I started back on Prilosec and BCP last Monday, but the vitamins I had pre-op I would still be afraid to take one of those horsepills! But the vicodin pills are pretty big aren't they? My doctor said to make sure to get iron, and I saw they've said iron can be poisonous for children, so a lot of the children's vitamins took out iron. I went with Flintstones because I found one that said "WITH IRON!" and I ate them as a kid, so I am use to the taste. I was going to get gummies, but none had iron.

Mmmm it has taro in there too. Taro is nummy. But I always thought it was right up there with potato chips. You'll have to let us know the nutrition when you get it!

Okay I've caught up! This was a busy weekend for me so I've been away from the boards. I had an oops moment I guess? I'm not sure the rule on alcohol because I DON'T DRINK. I've never had a taste for alcohol, so my doctor didn't tell me anything about alcohol.. except no carbonation which goes with cokes, so I know no beers. Well Friday some of the girls in the office were talking about going to a bar, and I knew my fiance had plans that night, so they invited me along and I was like SURE! So, I rode with them.. I ended up getting tuckered! :faint: I had a few cranberry with vodka, a couple tequila sunrises, a shot of buttery nipple, and a few other shots of things people ordered for me. I'm sure the caloric count was no good, but my saving grace is that I had not eaten today (or was it my saving grace?) so I know I couldn't have gone over my daily intake. I was feeling great, we bar hopped, ended up at some club and dancing the night away (workin up a sweat, and not carin that I'm an akward dancer LOL). Was 3 of us women, and they're my size 0 hotties, so they brought a lot of attention. I really had fun that night, then I got a migraine and had fiance come pick me up. He kept telling me to drink Water (I never did get sick BTW, just headache from hell). So I drank about 2 bottles of water and passed out.. Woke up fine on Saturday (whew) in time to go to a friend's wedding. Was nice, and I skipped the reception so I wasn't tempted by wedding cake.. mm. I got to talk to them between the wedding and reception, so I didn't seem rude (he knew I had the surgery). Then me and fiance had a movie night. On Sunday was cookout with my family, and I'm able to eat quite a bit now since no restriction (should change Wednesday!!). They always have sooo much food. My g'ma brought boiled eggs for me So I had egg salad, some baked Beans, and a couple bites of my mom's cheesedip. Didn't touch any Desserts. Then we went to my new house (which is where those pics came from), and then we walked around the lake at my mom's house (wheeeew it was HOT yesterday). I am extremely excited about the house, we did get to pick out EVERYTHING, and our new 'tentative' close date is June 22! We'll likely pay rent for July and slowly move in (I also wanted to repaint the walls before we move in, they won't let you paint anything but beige, in case we back out and they have to resell it).

Hey guys, been a busy weekend, and I need to get to bed (trying to fix my sleep schedule, it's been crazy) but today we went out to our house and since thursday they already drywalled it!! (We went to get the frame pictures). So I guess this is even better, wanted to share it. Sorry it's a lot of space to post it, but I'm excited! I'll catch up on posts tomorrow morning at work. (Ignore the people in the pics, my whole family went so lots of people runnin around, hard to get shots without them in it) Front of the house. My door I'm so proud of, I love it! (It's not painted yet, the color will be a reddish black) Me and fiance in front of door. My first post-op pic, and I'm not happy about it! People say they notice, but now I've seen a pic, and there is no difference.. grrr. The big master bath tub.. Mmmm. Looking from the dining room thru the living room, to the front door/computer room. One side of the kitchen (Pantry, refrigerator space) Other side of kitchen, my window over the sink! The living room. The computer room. I spared you a bit, I didn't post the pics of more of it, they all look the same LOL. But that's the highlight of it!

Terri- Congrats!!! I had the same discovery this morning myself. I keep bouncing between 311-314. This morning it was 310! Finally bounced down a little more.

Delivery may be 2-3 days, but they might not have processed it yet.. that's at their own discretion. You can order it overnight, but if they don't process it for a week you won't get it for a week! I had problems with bariatriceating.com delivering, 2 weeks later they said they 'lost the order' and sent it! I won't order from them again.

I thought my experience with barium was odd too. From all the things I read before hand, I was nervous that I wouldn't be able to drink it. The day after surgery they took me to the x-ray machine, the guy was getting my 'drink' ready.. said it's going to smell like Mt. Dew (and I was like OOOO lol) and he goes 'but it won't taste like it! It's very tart', and then he walked off for a minute, comes back and goes 'Oh, you have to drink the other stuff'.. and it was a thick chalky white looking stuff-I assume that was the barium. (Guy was talking to me like I was a baby 'This is going to help us look at your insides!' and not telling me what the stuff was.)I stood up in the x-ray machine and took a deep breath and he said 'gulp it', so I was able to gulp about half of the cup- which wasn't a big cup(they wouldn't let me have ANYTHING to drink, and only 2 tiny ice chips since surgery which was about 24 hours before this.. so I was just thankful to get something wet in my mouth)..and no problems. They said 'you can stop drinking' LOL. So I did.. but it wasn't bad at all.. didn't phase me.. well, made me more thirsty and they finally gave me a popsicle. Then the doctor came in and showed me the x-ray pictures, saw the band faintly and saw the barium on top and then 'splashing' into the bottom part of my stomach. Was neat looking. So, it didn't have a taste and wasn't horrible to drink for me.

Which crackers were these?? I got some crackerbread (I think is the name) from the website also which I'm waiting till Monday to try. They do NOT look as good as those parmesian things and look like they may taste like cardboard, but I thought they might be good with soup or salad.

Hah! No, I actually meant it. Because as I savored each bite I became paranoid about eating solids, all I needed was the kick in the pants by someone reitterating it (plus I saw you post to someone else about eating solids and it spooked me). So they're all tucked in the cabinet behind my soups till Monday! :nervous

I think part of what's bringing me down, is others ask me about it every day. I guess that's part of letting everyone know!! The first week they were all like 'wow how much have you lost?' and I told them.. so now every other day it's 'Have you lost more weight yet?' And I keep saying 'not yet!'. :fish: I need to stop weighing myself I guess. Back on track!!

Ok, I promise I won't eat another one till Monday! :fish:
