((TracyKS)) I've been trying to reignite my low-cal diet, so was looking for low-cal dinner recipes. Did you know that pepperoncini roast (YUUUUMMM) qualifies? I could seriously eat that every day. Anyway, making diet coke chicken for the 2nd time, I make it my 'own', thought I'd share with ya'll.. it is VERY good. Saw someone post something about it here on the forums, so googled and found this basic recipe: Diet Coke Chicken - The Secret Recipe Forum Here's my spin. I use Coke Zero, because I have a case of it. Add 2 tbsp of minced onion (real onion probably good, just don't have any), 1 tsp of garlic powder, 3 dashes of lemon juice, and a dash of splenda. The chicken turns out SOOOOO moist, it falls apart, so I shred it toward the end as the sauce thickens up. There's absolutely no telling there was a diet drink in it, just a sweet rich bbq with very moist (if I say it's moist, it has to be since I don't normally eat chicken!) chicken. Thought ya'll may be interested ) PS Vote for Carson (LINK BELOW!!)

Yeah and I figured out the goofy Aug-Dec rule thing, they are taking the TOP 5 of August to be Aug-Dec baby of the month, so I actually have a shot and not as worried about that Abigail girl. Just gotta keep harassing people to vote hehehehe. I am going to call them and ask who is printing their calendars... ho hum.
-
It's like yer going back to school Terry!
-
Thank you Pam!! I've been trying to spam it wherever I can LOL. Hopefully your rolodex is bigger than mine, I need 150 more votes to catch up to some baby names Abigail!! In the baby forum I am in (I'm in a group like this, but for women who had babies in April.. how funny is that!), one of the girls lost her baby this past week to SIDs. I have actually been trying to forget about SIDs because it's makes me over-paranoid and have anxiety attacks.. but for it to happen to her, it's got me all nervous all over again. He was born April 10, and just died during an afternoon nap. And looking at her other posts, she was just recently saying how he's learned to roll over, tries to sit up, etc... just makes me sick to my stomach. I can't imagine. I don't want to imagine.

Debating the sleeve.. well I'm so preliminary, I can't afford another surgery right now, so no immediate plans, but if/when I have another surgery, it may not be to fix the band. -
I learned the alphabet in Middle school (all my friends did) when we had to wait for busses or at lunch, some reason we weren't allowed to talk..so we learned to spell to each other. Russ took ASL in college, so he knows some basic words.. probably what I'll learn in this book (he knows mom, dad, that kind of stuff). That's interesting about your parents Judy, I would have thought they'd teach you sign language... Let me know how it goes with Grady!
-
No, he's just over 4m, but I figure we'll need to learn some of it before we teach him, so I want to check the book out early!
-
OH.. and we've decided we're going to teach Carson sign language. I've 'heard' about how you can teach them to sign before they can talk; never known anyone to do it. I am on a forum for people who had babies when I did, and a lot of them said they are doing it for their new baby and have done it for their now older children and really liked being able to communicate early, etc. So I asked Russ about it (who took ASL in college, he's always liked sign language), and ironically this weekend when he was with his friends, the guy whose house they went to--they have a 2 year old and taught her sign. They showed Russ the book they used; which was the same book the forum recommended. So I ordered it, you start at 6m, so I am very excited! You get a cookie Judy! No wait, you get a lemony blueberry-y cupcake, with liner.

Well the show is no longer ongoing, they had an episode the night before he popped into the news for murder and they took it off... boo. My mom has an interesting theory, they said a pretty blonde checked him in the hotel in Canada and left 20m later, then he was found hung the next day.... what if the pretty blonde was Megan! And maybe he killed his wife so he could be with Megan.. dun dun dun. Kat, that was a real show, I saw it too..was some forensic show where they show how much we can do with technology these days!

They think I have a leak, and I know Carson kicked my port, I felt it rip the stitches (slowly over a couple of days). If I have to have another surgery to fix it, I don't know if I should do it now or wait till after 2, since the same thing would probably happen. -
I know! I shouldn't laugh at that, but I do. I just realized, our bands have serial numbers (when I called to ask about warranties on Lap Band, the girl asked if I knew my serial #). If we were all cut up, they'd be able to identify us by our lap bands!!! THat is a big whoop Jane, if you have the time, I appreciate it!!! Every vote counts, and I got in late in August so I got a lot of ground to cover. I have been telling everyone I know to go vote lol.

Ya'll been following the Megan Wants a Millionaire guy!? I was watching that show (I may be repeating myself).. Judy were you watching it? It's like Flavo O Love and all those, but its a sexy girl and a houseful of millionaires going for her. After like the 4th episode, one of the guys (rumored to be a finalist) who apparently was MARRIED, was on the run for killing his swimsuit model wife. Not just killed, cut her up, pulled her teeth out, cut fingers off and stuck her in a dumpster. This morning they announced they found him in a motel, hung himself. Crazy. And after all that, I still am irritated they cancelled the show, I was really enjoying it. Such a BIZARRE set of millionaires; the kind who would go on a tv show and fight other men for a woman.

How long till Carson gets on a bus and gives me empty days 5x a week???
-
Suzanne you look like you had fun, I am jealous, I've been wanting to go to a fair for years. Next week's horseshow we're going to is at a fairgrounds, so I am HOPING it's like a normal fair and I can stroll with Carson and play games and eat bad food. Yup, I said it!

Thank you guys! Jane if you don't use facebook, I also keep his website updated with pics: Carson's First Website! So today had some good things happen (about time). Got the bill from the hospital for the fluro, they processed it for $450 with BCBS (which denied it of course), but the bill that came today is only $250. YAY, so they cut me slack for being self-pay. That helps some. Got out to do the weeding since the home owner's association sent us a letter.. the flower bed was very overrun since I didn't work on it at all while pregnant. I asked my friend Brandy & her gf to come help me.. her gf watched Carson and Brandy & I got to work. She was QUICK. Her parents own a landscape business so I guess she picked some of it up lol. She did such a great job, while I was panting and dragging trying to keep up. Then we pulled up boxwoods (boring) and planted purple bushes and purple flowers! Then laid down cedar mulch, and then she went and got her edger (wow)-- we haven't edged since we moved in--and blower. She actually edged the whole property and blew the crap out onto the street. It looks so fantastic. Trying to think of a way to thank her; I bought them lunch when I thought it was just going to be them babysitting and helping me pull weeds.. when it turned into an all day thing, I feel I need to do something more for her. Now I feel really bad for not offering to help her paint her house when they bought it last year (I totally coulda done that). Any suggestions? Carson is at mom's for the night, I downloaded a movie from Amazon (Made), going to order a sub from dominos and curl up in bed. Russ comes home tomorrow night.

Thank you Jenn!

Well whatever I decide on, the cost of a surgery is not in my cards any time soon. No Kat, my insurance hasn't changed.. I've already tried to convince them to change the policy to cover, but no go.. which is funny considering the premiums we pay ($800 a month for family!!). And just to add while I'm hating my insurance, they declined the Nutramigen formula, even though my policy covers that. Gotta love it. They decided it wasn't a medical necessity because he wasn't hospitalized for it. I'm actually still trying different formulas, did Gentlease at doc's suggestion for a couple weeks which is suppose to be for gas, but it's not helping.. started introducing Prosobee with it today, to transition over, heard good things about it. Keep going till I find something that sits well with him. Coworkers daughter has been on ESPN and news all over lately, she is dating a football player at Alabama, remember I told ya how hardcore people are about their football here.. anyway, they got in a domestic dispute and both got arrested, they threatened to suspend him so it's huge news, since season is about to start. Meanwhile her mom (coworker) is going through hell, she was going to try to hide it, but when it made ESPN and her mugshot was going up everywhere.. well.. I told her just be glad she only has 1 hah hah. Also found out a friend of mine's 22 month old was just diagnosed with Autism. :/

Just a rant really.. 6 months after original installment, my fills were not doing anything. They thought I had a leak, had a revision surgery and the port had flipped. So he moved it from my belly to my chest. Things were fine, lost weight wonderfully.. then I got pregnant! So I had my baby in April and was ready to get back on the wagon.. going back every month for fills, already way past what USE to be "way too tight" and not feeling restriction. I thought I slipped, dilated, something. They did a fluro, and all was well. Mind you, my insurance won't pay for this.. so I paid for originally surgery, revision surgery, fluro testing, and this last fill they decided I have a leak. They drew back 0cc when they put the needle in. He injected 4cc and immediately drew back 1cc. Now, when I can AFFORD yet another $400 test.. they will check for a leak. Mad they didn't look last month when I paid for testing. And then of course if it IS a leak, that's another out of pocket surgery, plus having to go into another surgery all together. Think this has to do with baby kicking my port during pregnancy, I felt him rip stitches out of it and tilted it, but I guess he pushed the tubing too. Does this mean I pay for another surgery and baby #2 (one day) will do the same thing? Not a happy camper.:confused:

Yeah I'm debating if I want to swap to a sleeve. Don't want to jump the gun, but it's in my mind right now.
-
Yeah I just called Allergan, there is no warranty. My doc hasn't mentioned Omnipaque, so not sure where to begin with that either. Maybe I could find another doc who DOES do it, to try it.. although it took me 50 docs to find one within 2 hours of me that would take band patients from somewhere else, so what are the odds they do Omnipaque??? I think it will depend on how the leak is. If the tube disconnected from the port (which is what I am guessing right now), omnipaque wouldn't help.
-
Not sure what exactly yet, they put the needle in- I had 3.25cc... drewback 0. So he filled it with 4cc, and immediately only drew back 1cc. He thinks there's a leak. Now, at MY request I had the fluro at $400 a month ago, and some reason they didn't do contrast. WTF. That is where I am most mad, we can't afford all this crap right now, and now they need me to do ANOTHER study at the tune of another $400. If there is a leak, and I imagine there is after their experimenting, it's another surgery; which I can't afford right now..and I really don't want another surgery So just mad and sad and all those emotions. I am weighing my options, I know Carson kicked my port and tore it out of one side so it's tilted, maybe he kicked the tubing too and detached it.. so this mean I'll need ANOTHER surgery after baby #2??? ARGH. The manufacturer pays for it if the leak is their fault, like faulty-ness. I don't think detaching is their fault? Doc brought it up (acted all upset at the makers for me having a leak). But I don't know when I can afford to do the contrast, with economy and customers not paying, my commission checks have been 1/3 what they were and I've been struggling to pay bills; we just got a check after re-financing the house from our old escrow for 1k, and it was a godsend, we sooo needed that money. Now I just gotta throw away half of it on another study when they should have done it? Not to mention it's 6 hours of driving for the day when I have to go down there, I just got back, I don't want to go back right now. blah blah blah. The doc says he won't charge me for the study-- he didn't charge me for the fluro (for his time), but the HOSPITAL charges a lot, and he can't get that waived. He said he's going to try to call in a favor with a friend somewhere to get it for me really cheap or free, so I said well you look into that, and call my local hospital and get a cost.. if it's not much difference, I'd rather do it here.. not have to worry about what to do with Carson, the long drive, etc. I want a new doc at this point, but I don't know that docs will take a complication in the middle of it.. plus, my doc on my last revision didn't charge me for him, but again I had to pay $3k to the hospital. So if I had to do it again, it would be at least $3k to the hospital (2 years ago, probably more now!!), and free for my doc.. not sure what a new doc would cost without that fee waived. Although my doc didn't say he'd waive his fee, so who knows.

You should wait the few months your doc said & then when you're ready... and sorry for your loss. -
:biggrin::crying::smile::w00t::crying: That is all.
