Wow. Being newly banded AND newly married, this thread has got my jaw dropping. In my mind, and from what my doctor told me, it's the patient that ends up leaving their spouse, due to feeling like they settled and now they can get better, etc. I am so baffled about this. I personally see our sex life getting better with the surgery, and him cheating on me never crosses my mind.. maybe I'm young and naive?? Why is it do you think the spouse of patients cheat???? Also, where did the 80% statistic come from? I'm just floored, trying to take in this whole thread

I don't miss food, cause I'm not missing anything? Not cause I'm all strong lady from the amazons who does NOT NEED FOOD.. but cause with my minimal restriction, I could eat all that. FEH! I wish I could miss them LOL. I don't like spaghetti, but I do have ice cream about once a week, and rice goes down fine.. I try to lay off gravy, but frankly I can eat things like that, and I do on occasion. I didn't have my 'last meal syndrome' because people on the boards mentioned that's a big mistake because it's not true, etc.. and I find they're right.. would have just been another day of overeating if I had done it.. now i can have everything (EXCEPT CHEESEBURGERS) once in a while. And I don't miss cheeseburgers, cause anytime I'm in that situation, they have hot dogs.. and hot dogs are better in taste IMO anyway

Well, if my doctor doesn't do that already, if I suggest it, would he comply? I know doctors don't like being told what to do (ran into this at the ER a couple months ago!).

He did 2 of the fills under fluero due to the fact my port is tilted in some fashion and harder to get into now. I expected 1st fill not to do much from what I've read, but after 3 fills I am getting frustrated about it.. and because 2nd fill put me at 2cc and 3rd fill put me at 2cc. Can I get above 2cc pleeeease Anyway, I just needed to rant, my next fill is Sept. 13th and it will be another begging him to just crank it up. I understand over-fill is bad and can cause slipping, and like I told him, if it was overfilled, I promise to drive back down and have some taken out.. but I truly am becoming impatient. Denise- You look great!! I'm the same as you, my picture from July-August doesn't look any different.. But from Pre-op to today is a big difference. I go to my concert tomorrow, very excited! I am going to end up doing some WSOP poker tournaments the day before I have to go to Anniston for fills.. the tournaments are 4 hours west of here.. and Anniston is 3 hours southeast of here.. so I leave Tunica on Sunday night, to drive to Anniston Monday morning (sept 10th).. whew.. Hit another mini-goal..another sexy pair of jean bell bottoms I haven't been able to wear in 5 years (last time worn was to an Alice Cooper concert), found them in a bag in the closet while rummaging for a swimsuit...tried them on..and ta-da! They fit fine, but my stomach is a lot looser than it's ever been, so my 'muffin' is very prominent in these non-stretch jeans. I plan to wear them in the fall when I'll have big sweater/tunic things up top to cover it up. Hope you all have a great day

denise- I know I'm young, so it sounds silly, but from the outside looking in (at my older brother vs. my parents) in a similar situation, kicking them out seems to be the only thing to do...they kept taking him back for about 7 years, till they *finally* had enough.. and low and behold he had no where to go and cleaned up his act (relatively). And now my DH's family going through the same thing with his younger (but adult) brothers. I know it must be hard, sending my cyber hugs to you! (hugsssss)

That reminds me while we're talking about motorcycles. One of my co-workers has a daugher in high school.. her bf was riding his motorcycle with her on the back, they crashed.. neither was hurt.. but then found out, a year ago he killed his girlfriend in a motorcycle accident, so co-worker told her daughter she is NOT allowed on his motorcycle again.. their accident where no one was hurt, was about 2 weeks ago....3 days ago, her bf got into ANOTHER motorcycle wreck, and died. I love motorcycles, and want to own my own someday (parents both drove harleys, dad a hog, so as a kid I loved riding on them).. but if I was that kids parents, I'd have taken his bike away when he killed his gf.. so sad.

What a night. My sister and her gf spent the night, and we watched tv.. then my parents called and wanted to have a talk with her, so she left and her gf stayed behind. We played some video games..my parents offered her a position at the company, doing filing. Well, she's VERY dykey and tattoo-d and pierced from head to toe.. she's not very presentable basically(complete opposite of professional looking). They offered her receptionist at first, but they realized that wouldn't be very good for business. So anyway, mom said she needs new clothes.. girl clothes.. where can we buy plus size girlie clothes.. so we went on a trip to Cato's. Got a bunch of girlie clothes that would cover up her arm tattoos, and in the dressing room it was a riot.. it so does not look like her.. Anyway, then we go to Avenue.. a place I've never heard of, but has really nice businessy plus size clothes. I bought some nice tunics there.. So we're checking out, my sister pulls me aside and says.. "When can you take a pregnancy test?" Mind you, she has been living with her gf for years, they talkin about runnin off to a state where they can be married, yadda yadda.. So I'm confused.. I said 'Why??' and she goes "Well about a month ago, I was having a confused moment and slept with some guy blah blah, think I'm pregnant'. !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ?! Crazy stupid kids. Seriously. So I told her, and she just turned 18.. so I asked if her gf knew.. and she said she does.. I'm like wow.. I'd have so kicked your ass to the curb, but whatever..that is their business. So now I'm stressing wonderin whether or not she's pregnant. If you knew her.. oh boy. She can't even take care of herself.. won't keep a job for more than 2 days, no responsibilities in life, yadda yadda. Acts like she's 12 in maturity. So I asked her, you didn't use a condom or anything??? And she said, well he didn't stick it in, he just did it on me. I had to laugh. Explained how unlikely pregnancy would be from that.. thinking more and more every day how she really shouldn't have dropped out of high school. So then she and her gf go home.. me and my mom go on to Target & Wal-Mart.. to get some random things we needed.. we decide to go to her house to watch a movie, so she drops me off at home and I run in to change into jammies before heading over. Husband comes up, kisses me and asks if he can have kinky Birthday sex tonight. CRAP! I FORGOT HIS BIRTHDAY!! This is 3 years in a row, I forget the actual day. We do birthday celebrations at our Sunday cook outs with family, so I go to moms and say.. I FORGOT HIS B'DAY!!! We were AT target & wal-mart and I didn't get a cake or card, etc. Boooooo. We watched Stranger Than Fiction (I HATE will ferrel) but it was a pretty good movie.. Then I was planning to run back to wal-mart in my jammies.. but then dad saved the day, he is going to go by the store on his way home from a poker game.. whew.. he asked if I wanted him to buy me a card to give dh.. lol.. told him no, I'd do it later. So anyway, what a night. Glad to be home, waitin for dh to finish his 'raid' in his video game (everquest.. i call it evercrack) so he can get his b'day sexin' on!

Terri- I don't have a butt! :phanvan And the bracelet I got was perfect, the gems match my birthstone..and purple's my favorite color! Kity- Don't scare yourself too much about your port! My 1st fill was quick and easy, 2nd fill they poked a LOT and couldn't get it, had to go to hospital. 3rd fill same way, they could feel the sides of my port, and were baffled why the needle wouldn't go in (must be more complex than I think..I thought I felt them get in the 'screen' several times), and at the hospital under the x-ray they said my port like moved forward and tilted down. So it just got rotated. Maybe that's all it is My sister and her gf spent the night last night, they're sleeping on my la-z-boys.. they can sleep allll day, tryin to let them naturally wake up, but I got house cleanin to do! One of my best friends growing up, who moved off to Florida and is working as a human resource person at Disney World.. is in town for the weekend. It's weird, when I see all my old friends from high school, I feel like they haven't grown up. They are all still that.. 'mean to be funny', if you know what I mean? They make me feel very adult, and they're actually a little older, because I graduated early to graduate with their class. He would say remarks--for no reason--to be funny, but they were mean comments (mostly to my sister). And he got super skinny (he use to be 'little more than average') now he looks anorexic, and he was asking if I had all kinds of code words, for either heroin or coke.. I'm not a drug connoseur (sp), so I don't know which he was looking for. So he apparently is into something now. So anyway, it bums me out when they come back home to visit and I get together with them and the whole time I just think "I can't stand this person anymore".

Yup.. hopefully it won't affect you.. but if it does cause acid reflux, you need to get on something, the acids coming up can't be good.. lap-band or not, the acid can cause esophogeal cancer, and probably do some damage to your stoma!

Oh, Carb Blocker-- doesn't block carbs (at the time I was watching my Ketosis on Atkins, I was in high ketosis till the day I tried a carb blocker and a piece of bread).. TrimSpa.. didn't do anything (they were non-ephedra, not sure if they have an ephedra version).

I take ephedra pills. Pre-op, when I do diets, I took Metabolife, etc.. things like that, that DID have Ephedra (the ones without the ephedra blend didn't do anything for me)... but pills with ephedra make me wired.. lots of energy, not hungry, etc. Since I'm disappointed with my current restriction, I decided to keep taking ephedra pills until I get to my ideal restriction. But I do have a long list of pills that don't do squat... SmartBurn (Hoodia is suppose to be the special ingredient in it.. nothin), Leanoxide (not sure the 'active' ingredient, but did nothing).. Ephedra isn't good for all though, some people get too hyper on them. And of course, don't take more than recommended dose, can mess up your heart.

I have chronic acid reflux.. It's not from the lap-band, but I had hoped it would help (not yet). I take prilosec, one a day. It is a miracle drug for me, if I forget to take it, within 24 hours I have constant heartburn all day long.. but when I remember to take it, I have absolutely no reflux **Supposedly, with the lap-band, acid reflux can't get 'up' through the band.. mine does.

Come on Levi's! Suck it in, suck it in!! I took my monthly pics the other day, the biggest difference I am seeing like I said when I was tryin on clothes, is my back. When I get home from work, I'll post my before & after of my back for you guys.. it's amazing, I'm gettin a figure.. who knew.

What about those little bowls of chili or something? They're in the soup aisle, made to go right into the microwave. I don't know any nutrition info, but maybe check those out.. they have all kinds of stuff in that area.

My parents got married a month out of high school, and my mom's wedding set was $200 total.. They are now very well off and run their own business.. and my dad has mentioned several times getting her a new set, but she won't let him because of the sentiment. My wedding set is fancier than hers! But, he did get her a beautiful sapphire & diamond ring for an anniversary to wear on her other hand, that completely outshines her originals rings. And about the bad luck.. my mom had her rings resized when she got arthritis, and they've been married 30 years as of last week.. PFF on bad luck!

I'm dying my hair back to dark brown tonight.. and I got all those girlie shirts in 18/20.. I even put make up on for the first time in years (except wedding, but someone else did that) yesterday. I think it has to do with the girl at work saying I was being girlie

I think it depends on the situation. I hear they do lap-band for preventative now.. which I think is a great idea! And whether it's 40lbs or 150lbs, if you can't lose it, you can't lose it. And at any overweight you can have problems due to it. And 40lbs can turn into 80lbs, and so on. So, I don't necessarily agree with that.

I have 2 more pre-paid fills. I got 6 'visits', which includes fills or just follow ups.. I had 3 fills and 1 follow up.. have a new fill scheduled for Sept 10, and then I'll make one for Oct, and if I'm still struggling with fills, I'm going to go to a doctor in Nashville.
