If you notice at the bottom in her comments, she has a blog too. I bookmarked it and have been reading it a little bit at work. She is a funny lady! And as someone who doesn't have kids, I can still imagine what she's going through since she's so descriptive!! BECAUSE I SAID SO Here's the link

LOT OF POKEMON CARDS THAT MY KIDS TRIED TO SNEAK BY ME - (eBay item 130144061675 end time Aug-22-07 12:03:50 PDT) Just had to share :bounce:

Wasa- That was a great post and point. I'm not on the other side of the fence yet to look back on my 'fat days'.. but it's true about compassion for the overweight.
-
I kind of went back and forth. Pre-op, my sex drive was going down and down. But I do have hormonal problems, and figured it had to do with that and the fact I knew I was gaining weight and becoming grossly fat!!!! After surgery, I was like a rabbit. I lost a lot of weight in the first month, and it did wonders (and I was off my b/c which supposedly regulates my hormones.. I wonder now!).. After the first month, weight loss stalled during bandster hell and I started back on b/c. I'm back to being able to take or leave sex. Leave more so, because I'm tired or don't feel like putting the energy into it. I am curious too who you ask, I couldn't ask my surgeon about my sex drive (He PRAYS with me!!), and some reason I'm not comfortable asking my gyno either.

The children woke up And they couldnt find em They left before the sun came up that day They just drove off And left it all behind em But where were they going without ever knowing the way? Anyone could see the road that they walk on is paved in gold And its always summer, theyll never get cold Theyll never get hungry Theyll never get old and gray You can see their shadows wandering off somewhere They wont make it home But they really dont care They wanted the highway Theyre happy there today , today (I like this song too, but it's a little morbidly sad to me when I listen to it!)

Anyone can see the road that they walked on is paved in gold.. yeah I know that song! Google time.. Fast Ball- The Way

If it's like people coming off of blood pressure, diabetes meds, etc.. due to losing weight. Sounds like 3-6 months is when people were being taken off of those, just from what I've read on the boards.
-
Yeah, I thought she meant they put it in during banding, and then they remove it at some point (like the drainage tubes for RNY). Judy- Sounds very painful Hope this helps you!

It's wasted calories, but I guess if you alocate those calories for the day, it would be like eating anything else with those calories. However, I read the other day the way your body 'burns' stuff... It said first it burns Alcohol, then carbs, then protein, then stored fat (I believe it went this way.. I do know Alcohol was first and stored fat was last).. so if you add alcohol, it's longer on the chain to get to the stored fat.

It is great your wife is going with you. I made my husband go also, to my first meetings so he knew what to expect also. I realized, that was a big step so they he would get an idea of what I'm going through.. and why. That meeting was 'the day' for me, because I knew my DH was on board.. he heard what's going on, and still wasn't trying to stop me. I also found out what I had to 'give up', and it started THAT DAY for me. Cokes comes to mind.. I had to swear off the carbonated sugar Water that kept me going every day! And I did, that day was the day I never had coke again I also started making healthier choices that day to start shrinking my liver. So yes, this is going to be one of those new days! Congratulations

Me too, when I was typing the post, my tongue was twisting all funny!
-
I never get to the stick.. that's one of those things, like people who hear scratching on glass, or chalkboards.. feeling the wooden stick on my tongue, makes my whole body convulse and I can't talk right LOL! That being said, making the hospital building sounds neat.. we need pics!!!
-
Ohhh... then I misunderstood what she was saying
-
That's a new one to me, never heard of someone getting that with their lap-band before.
-
With the lap-band, you still absorb everything you eat.

I'm a LOST Fanatic!!! I am obsessed with that show, and I'm ready for it to be over so I know what the hell is going on. Like the last show we saw, where Kate & Jack are off the island and at 'someone's funeral. Grr! My DH bought me a Lost Diarama set for valentines this year.. it's all the characters with some prop, and then a group set.. They're all boxed in the closet, I thought it was way cool, then he tells me I can't 'play' with them, they might be worth money someday. Yea right. I go to Tunica today! I'm excited, we're leaving at 4pm. Magnesium Citrate didn't do much to DH, which was weird. He took the whole bottle in one gulp! He had 2 citrate induced bowel movements, that were fairly quick.. compared to how I was, and I had only been drinking liquids for a week, I think it's odd. He just brought me my morning coffee.. woohoo! Have a good day everyone, and remember.. WWJD!!!!! -
Get your pills in liquid form.. I didn't take pills for the first month as per doctor's order.. so I couldn't take my birth control or prilosec. Instead, condoms and Tums chewables. After 1 month, I've had no problems taking pills.. And if you have good enough restriction, either get liquid form of your meds, or check if they are breakable, and break them in half, etc.

Kat- GEEZ! Gotta love the government. When we went to get a mortgage this year, we found out my DH was born in '59, had an alternate alias and owed over $50,000 past due 10 years. Now, it took a lot of money and running around on OUR end to fix THEIR errors, and the best part.. you can't take that off the credit report! They put a 'fixed' note on there, which hurts your credit score, to say that was an error, yet the companies could still use that. It's infuriating. And couldn't do anything about it, reported Equifax to BBB and said 'whatever'. These people control our lives, and yet their errors make us pay. If I were you, I'd be flipping out!!! I would be sue-happy too. I get so mad that they do that to people. Speaking of flipping out, we've been paying 100's of dollars in Water bills since we moved here, to keep our precious sod from dying in this drought. Today we come home from work, there's a huge hole dug right in the middle of our lawn.. and mud and red clay EVERYWHERE. It's horrible. I guess someone ran lines, and ran a big ass truck over our yard.. and didn't clean anything up. So, I'm miffed about that. We called the builders out here, voicemail of course-- they already sold us a house, now they aren't talking to us. Waiting for someone to call us back and let us know when they plan on at least filling the hole back up.. but of course, it's going to be all on us to replace the grass, and pay MORE MONEY for water.. gah. -

I did try WebMD, but it's very vague, and everything I found that is remotely close, DH says 'that's not it'. So..I give up now, I'll wait till he talks to the other doctor. Tracy & Jennifur- Hooray on the good news -
Ok, correction.. They contain whey protein isolate, which is the good protein.. Along with other protein.
-
Whenever this happens to me, I put in the lyrics I can remember plus lyrics in google search engine. Those lyrics are pretty vague, but both pull up stuff. See if this helps.. outside looking in lyrics - Google Search on the inside looking out lyrics - Google Search

Yeah, I've been reading her blog here at work too. She is hilarious! I couldn't imagine 6 kids.. and time to blog.. whew!!!! In other news, DH just got back from clinic. I should have gone, men are so braindead sometimes! They said his large intestines have been storing fecal matter, and has become a large mass and his intestines are all stretched out. So they told him to take magnesium citrate tonight (hmm.. I've done this!) and they are setting him up an appt. with their surgeon to see if they need to operate. So this is our conversation.. Me: Does it have a name? (I like to google everything) Him: I dunno Me: Is it life threatening? Him: I dunno Me: Well, when are they setting up the appointment?? Him: I guess in a day or two Me: Well no one is open on weekends, so tomorrow? Him: I dunno Me: So.. what if they can't get you till next week? Will your intestines explode??? Him: I dunno. Me: He's going to call and let you know when the appointment is today? Him: I think so, I told him to leave me a message on my cell phone. ARGH! I've been trying to google with what little information I have, but nothing pulls up for it. I'm also thinking how DH might be getting a colonoscopy. EEK! I am not going to tell him that, he might go running for the hills. Anyone have any info on this? He has not been constipated or diarhea or anything unusual.. but they said he's storing little bits of poo that are now lots of poo. -

Yes, just to be on the safe side, I request liquid on any Rx I get.. but I've found 80% of meds I take don't come in liquid.
