Shrinking Violets -- April 07 Bandsters

Aww! We had a similar experience with Alice.. We did the CD's he released that had the different color eyes on the cover.. Around that time he was in town for a concert, so we got backstage and tickets to the show.. me and some friends went with my parents. My parents FIRST KISS (at 14) was at an Alice Cooper concert.. so they were acting silly!! I also got the pizza stub while we were back there.. was the order ticket for when they order pizza hut.. said 'Alice Cooper' and then a whole bunch of pizza orders.. and they signed one of each of my cd covers (all the different colored eyes), and I took a pic with the guitar guy cause he was H-O-T.. I was about 18 I guess.. But I have to say, I'm not into his music. That concert was long and loud to me! I remember as a KID my mom played his music video things to keep me entertained.. and one where he was caught in a spiderweb.. a big one.. that always creeped me out. -

I had thought about a breast reduction for years.. I'm glad I didn't, I was worried about the scarring.. After being banded, just from the weight I've lost, my boobs point DOWN. And I'm 23.. it's so depressing.. Even when my arms are up over my head, they still go DOWN. I told husband when I'm near goal, the only surgery I have thought about is doing my boobs. I want young happy boobs.. I don't know what that's like! I originally thought, I would just get implants so they don't sag.. but then doing research I read every 5 years implants have to be replaced. So you'd have to have boob surgery every 5 years??? Anyone know if this is true or not? -
Want breast reduction - is this too soon?

Just so you know with bra fitting.. Lane Bryant/Cacique are having a store wide bra fitting event coming up. You could probably find details online, I got the flyer in the mail yesterday with a catalogue. -

My doctor makes me wait 4 weeks between fills, which is why the past 5 months have been so darn frustrating!!! That bread I was telling you guys about, I don't know how they do it!? I am worried they're lying to me.. That's illegal and companies don't do that, right? I made toast this morning, 1 slice.. 35c. It looked, felt, tasted 100% like the normal white bread I eat. I couldn't tell it was anything special.. but it has no fat, 35c, and has 4g of fiber. I'm really baffled. It was soft and squishy (till I toasted it). Sprayed my 0 calorie I can't believe it's not butter on it, and a smudge of grape jelly.. Yum yum. The crust had a hard time going down, I think I'm going to cut the crusts off in the future. -
My list of stupid people today was very entertaining and I had to share. First.. we are a printing & packaging company, and we received a flyer from another one I guess? The flyer had an airplane on the front that said FREE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING UNTIL OCT. 31!!! Woweee! We can't compete with that Then the other side (it was a postcard type thing).. said all these wonderful things they do, 24 hour turn times, blah blah blah. And then... not a single contact. Not a name, nothing. NO IDEA who sent these out. They spent all this time, money, & energy sending out these post cards with their ridiculously great offers.. and someone forgot to put a logo.. an e-mail, a website, a number.. hahaha. 2nd stupid.. a customer of ours, was making mailers for a University which I won't say the one.. however, it was one I *thought* was fairly nice. In big bold letters where the CD is, it says "INDEPENDE DENCE" (Suppose to be in a CD shape, that's the bottom of the circle) And if you saw the grammar on the rest of this thing, a 3rd grader would make more sense. I guess they don't have $$ for an editor.. :guess

Man this board I was on, a moderator ACCIDENTALLY deleted a thread!!! (hehehehehehe!)

That's funny. It's illegal to have booty sex in Alabama! Oh, and oral. But I dare a cop to come in my bedroom and regulate what I do with my husband.. Of course, he'll need to have his hand cuffs ready.

I'll look up the other 2 brands when I get home. I haven't tried the swansons yet, the other 2 are the ones I love, but the swansons looks like the others. I also bought canned turkey the other day, haven't tried it yet but I plan to mix a little cranberry sauce and see how that is. I was afraid canned meats before, but this chicken stuff rocks my socks!
-
That does sound gross.. I get 3 different brands.. big cans from Sam's (I don't know the brand), some normal size cans from Wal-greens (don't know the brand), and then smaller 6oz cans from a grocery store are Swansons. One of the brands from wal-green boasts the protein content on the front. And they're all white meat, I haven't been able to find the supposedly mixed dark & white meat cans. The meat looks/smells JUST LIKE tuna. So you have to flake it.. but it tastes better than tuna

I can.. I don't know about the different kinds of stuffing, but the ones I have are squishy and soft.. and add gravy to it, would slide down pretty easily I'd think.

I wanted to see what a pregnant band belly looks like. I had NO SAY in where my port was.. it *was* about 5 inches below and 1 inch to my left of the middle of my boobs. Since it flipped, he moved it to smack dab between my boobs..where there's no fat, so it feels like the chest between my boobs is really hard (its right under the skin). Due to me, my doc is now placing all ports here. Now if I got pregnant, I don't think it would be visible.. but where it was, seemed like prime place that the belly expands and it would be poking out the top or something (had all kinds of crazy images in my head).

I mix benefiber in my drink (Bottle water, juice, milk). It dissolves into nothingness.. no taste, no texture

Morning ladies! The keilbasa went down FINE! Not a single problem. I kept the first bite in my mouth a very long time, afraid to swallow it (and it has that skin on it).. then I braved it, swallowed.. nothing. So then I finished my dinner without a hitch. Not a single PB on dinner (Keilbasa, saurkraut, okra mixed with tomatos and corn). I was able to eat more than usual of dinner. It was still about 1c of food total, so still good enough for me. Scale isn't moving.. but I feel skinnier. I haven't been taking measurements, but I have gotten compliments the past couple of days (they had died down for a while). My clothes seem to be fitting better. So I'm not going to be discouraged that my scale isn't moving despite me barely eating 1000-1200c a DAY! Hrmph. Yesterday on smoke break, husband said "I can tell your face is losing weight, around your neck and everything". He never notices, so that was nice. We have bowling tonight, I'm hoping I'm healed enough to throw the ball. We were in the top 3 teams, and I want to keep it that way.. $$!!! Off to do some work... WWJD! -
Advice Please! How do I get over this?
Daisalana replied to newgirl07's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I'm just envious. My husband won't even shop for his OWN clothes. I do all the clothing shopping here. He tells me his size and says get stuff I want him to wear. Such a bummer, I love clothing shopping and wish he'd go with me. Is he still your boyfriend? If it's serious and you're comfortable enough to be with him in 'other ways' hint hint wink wink, you shouldn't be uncomfortable with him seeing you try on outfits. Have him pick out what he likes, and you discreetly grab your size. When husband started doing laundry, I didn't want him seeing my clothing size.. and then I realized he was a dultz and wouldn't even know what it meant! -
Anyone have to have surgery rescheduled due to liver?
Daisalana replied to mandi78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I found this on a British Obesity Surgery website in a fast google- Some surgeons mandate a very restricted diet - one that is low in fat, sugar and carbohydrates - for one week prior to surgery and even if your surgeon doesn't ask you to follow this diet, doing so will increase your chances of your operation being completed laparoscopically because it will shrink your liver down in size. By following a strict diet, your body reduces its glycogen stores (glycogen is a form of sugar stored in the liver and muscles for energy). With each ounce of glycogen, the body stores 3–4 ounces of water, so when you follow a very strict diet, especially one that is low in starch and sugar, your body loses its glycogen stores and some water. The liver shrinks as it has less glycogen and water in it. This diet is only recommended for one week before surgery and is not to be followed post–operatively. It is quite possible you lose a lot of weight that week, but it will be mainly be water loss. -

I don't know where the audacity comes from, for people who pick on other people. I don't know what their parents taught them. I could never for any reason just start picking on someone! Such a horrible thing to do. I do remember snickering about somebody for petty reasons with friends, but we would never have said something to them to make them feel like crap. It was more building our own self esteem to each other. So, yes in reflection my mom making this middle schooler cry seems slightly cruel, but she deserved every single second of it. Where she got off making fun of me and making me feel like crap when she was fatter and ugly. But anyway.. my mom certainly was tired of me coming home from school and crying and saying I hated school and never wanted to go back. I can see what you mean with your daughter, I cross my fingers, toes and eyes that my kids get my husband's genes.. they all were not only average weight but built muscular. It came so easy to them.. his brothers make me sick! I would hate for my kids to go through what I did in middle school. -

I take 2 flintstones, and 2 tums (extra strength) a day.. I take the flintstones at 2 different times now, but I always took the tums together.. last doc visit the nurse told me to split up the tums when I take it. You'd think I'd just throw it in routine with vitamins, but so far I keep taking them at the same time. -

Beef Jerkey! I am having issues eating any meat lately, but I get beef jerkey and it goes down fine. I found a website that makes the best IMO (i can't find any local beef jerky that tastes good, but I loved it as a kid). Buffalo Bills Premium Beef Jerky, Beef Sticks, Venison Jerky I tried the western cut, and the country cut. Western is hard, country is squishy.. I didn't like the squishy as much (more likely to PB) but the western is WONDERFUL. I get teriyaki and sweet & spicy.

Things People Pass Off For Compliments and Things Skinny People Say That Piss You Off
Daisalana replied to j_war06's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have to agree, I think super skinny people have their own obsession with their weight and don't realize how big you are. I of course, have heard the pretty face, that I carry my weight well, and thin friends my whole life who complained of how fat they were-how fat they looked in a size 5 when we were in dressing rooms of stores that I couldn't even get my ass into their largest size (12). I always hated that, I'd stand there akwardly while they twirl around trying to find an inch of skin to pinch. But I work with a girl, I consider her a friend.. we go out to drinks and like to gossip and chit chat. We've taken our husbands out on a play date (haha I love saying that.) Anyway, she is a size 1. ONE!!!!! And *she* complains about her weight. She works out at the gym every day. She's not short either. So I roll my eyes and think to myself 'if you're fat and bloated, I'm.. what?'. There's no hope for me if size 1 is fat. We went to a bar one night, and she got trashed. And I was sloshin. Then she was picking at my watch and said it was cute, wanted to try it on.. it was swimming on her wrist, I said you're too damn skinny! And she almost burst into tears. She said she hates how she doesn't think she looks good, and when everyone else gets to complain about how fat they are (everyone at work does and in reality *I* am THE ONLY fat one), since she is smallest everyone just tells her to shut up, but she doesn't like how she looks and it makes her upset when people talk about how skinny she is. So I don't think they're always trying to be back-handed, no ulterior motive, they just look at themselves in the mirror everyday..and they don't like it, for whatever reason. (Crazy is my explination hehe). I've always been big in all ways.. height and weight. In middle school a girl BIGGER THAN ME.. but 2 grades higher called me a name.. It's sad, I'm too emberassed to say it. And it's a common word, so everytime someone says it I feel my cheeks flush. Outside of middle school, I had high self-esteem and would stand up for myself.. but not then. Then, I hated myself because of this girl. She would do it in the halls, in front of my friends, in front of BOYS!!..I came home crying to my mom all the time. One day at the mall with mom, that girl was there.. across a store, she shouts the name. I start crying. My mom turns to me and goes "Why are you crying? She's bigger than you!".. then my momma went over to the girl and cussed her out, and told her what a cow she was and how did she get off calling someone skinnier than her (word). The girl was also BUSTED in the face.. and if I do say so myself, I DO HAVE A PRETTY FACE So my mom made sure to let the girl know how ugly she was. That girl started crying.. she was with friends, I relished how mortified she was. My mom, mine hero. She's always been a knock out with a perfect hourglass size 12/14 figure. (I think I posted this story another time on the board.. but this is all that really sticks out bad to me, since I still can't stand that word). The skinny girl I mentioned before, jokes with me that in a year I'll be a 'skinny bitch' too -

Probably just an error in coding, they'll be back LOL!! I CAN eat beef jerkey, thats the only meat I've been able to eat. And I swear to you, the chicken from last night and ham from today ITTY BITTY BITES. SMALLER than a peanut!!! The ham I threw up, it was all pieces the size of a pen point. -
I had scrambled eggs the other day and could not get them to go down.. even tried putting ketchup on them.. nada. But if I fry them or something, you think they'll go down better?

Ok I've figured out the pattern for me.. meat. I can't eat it anymore!! I don't understand the logic/reason for this. That super thin turkey deli meat.. PB. Crackers? Fine. The chicken salad I make is only thing that stays down, and I have PBed on it once for too big of a bite. 2 days ago, chicken wing- PB.. crust of a pot pie.. fine. Yesterday, chicken breast.. PB.. mashed potatoes.. fine. Today, deli sliced ham.. PB.. cheese crumbles.. fine. What gives?? I am making sure to chew it to a moosh, and yet it still comes up.. but then other foods, even if I take a big bite, they're fine.
