Terry count me IN!!! Yesterday will remain a mystery on calories, but I've got it for the rest of the week :car: I am the same way, during the week with work I have no problem staying in my normal calorie limits, and not snacking. But weekends are a real bummer in the food department for me! Thanks Chica! I haven't seen a full body pic of you have I??? -
G'ma sent me this, pretty funny! Too lazy to re-format. Those Born 1920-1979 READ TO THE BOTTOM FOR QUOTE OF THE MONTH BY JAY LENO. IF YOU DON'T READ ANYTHING ELSE---VERY WELL STATED . TO ALL THE KIDS WHO SURVIVED the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's and 70's!! First, we survived being born to mothers who smoked and/or drank while they were pregnant. They took aspirin, ate blue cheese dressing, tuna from a can, and didn't get tested for diabetes. Then after that trauma, we were put to sleep on our tummies in baby cribs covered with bright colored lead-based paints. We had no childproof lids on medicine bottles, doors or cabinets and when we rode our bikes, we had no helmets, not to mention, the risks we took hitchhiking. As infants &children, we would ride in cars with no car seats, booster seats, seat belts or air bags. Riding in the back of a pick up on a warm day was always a special treat. We drank Water from the garden hose and NOT from a bottle. We shared one soft drink with four friends, from one bottle and NOONE actually died from this. We ate cupcakes, white bread and real butter and drank Kool-aid made with sugar, but we weren't overweight because, WE WERE ALWAYS OUTSIDE PLAYING! We would leave home in the morning and play all day, as long as we were back when the streetlights came on. No one was able to reach us all day. And we were O.K. We would spend hours building our go-carts out of scraps and then ride down the hill, only to find out we forgot the brakes. After running into the bushes a few times, we learned to solve the problem. We did not have Playstations, Nintendo's, X-boxes, no video games at all, no 150 channels on cable, no video movies or DVD's, no surround-sound or CD's, no cell phones, no personal computer! s, no Internet or chat rooms....... WE HAD FRIENDS and we went outside and found them! We fell out of trees, got cut, broke bones and teeth and there were no lawsuits from these accidents. We ate worms and mud pies made from dirt, and the worms did not live in us forever. We were given BB guns for our 10th birthdays, made up games with sticks and tennis balls and, although we were told it would happen, we did not put out very many eyes. We rode bikes or walked to a friend's house and knocked on the door or rang the bell, or just walked in and talked to them! Little League had tryouts and not everyone made the team. Those who didn't had to learn to deal with disappointment. Imagine that!! The idea of a parent bailing us out if we broke the law was unheard of. They actually sided with the law! These generations have produced some of the best risk-takers, problem solvers and inventors ever! The past 50 years have been an explosion of innovation and new ideas. We had freedom, failure, success and responsibility, and we learned HOW TO DEAL WITH IT ALL! If YOU are one of them, CONGRATULATIONS! You might want to share this with others who have had the luck to grow up as kids, before the lawyers and the government regulated so much of our lives for our own good . While you are at it, forward it to your kids so they will know how brave (and lucky) their parents were. Kind of makes you want to run through the house with scissors, doesn't it?!

We moved into a brand new house, but they're spec houses so we couldn't pick wall colors. I wanted to paint some of the rooms, but DH is nervous I'm gonna mess up our new pretty house. I'm too cheap to pay someone to do it. All those tv shows make it look easy. Is it that easy? You just paint with a roller and ta-da? Or can you leave areas that look faded, and roller streaks, etc. if you don't do it all fancy? I've painted on canvas, but never on a wall.. Anyone have advice, tips, or share your story so I know how easy or hard it really is?

Have you tried contacting Chevrolet? Maybe they keep copies of things like that on file..

Kat & Judy you guys look GREAT! Today I had a bad bad bad food day. It was Sunday cook out, which we hadn't done the past 2 weekends. I started out good. I was soo hungry, we went shopping first and I built up an appetite, stomach was roaring. When I ate, had about 1c of food total.. pulled pork, baked beans, potato salad, and glorified rice. Then a few hours later, I started grazing. Some chips & dip.. some angelfood cake.. some fruit.. Then I ate a SHRIMP. a JUMBO shrimp.. and it felt LODGED. I threw up in the bathroom, and up came a .5inx.5in piece of shrimp and instantly I felt relief. It must have just sat right in my hole. Then another piece of angelfood cake. Hours passed, we watched 1408 (good good movie).. I had 2 pieces of a cookie cake and more chips & dip. BLECH. I'm not even going to myplate today, I don't want to know. I know it was BAD. And all this junk crap, goes down so easily, so it's not like I was being restricted. THIS IS WHY I DON'T KEEP THIS SHIT IN MY HOUSE! I have no will power! I'm such a flop when it comes to me controlling myself. I hate that about going to my parents house, where the junk food flows like water. I walked in their pantry for a snack for the movie, and it was all cookies and cakes..chips and dips, popcorn and so on. I need to start bringing my own snacks and foods from home during cook outs, so I can get full on what I know works, and if I want to 'indulge', I know I'm not going to go overboard. No WWLD bracelets anytime soon -

It's not 'rubbing it in' when you lose weight!! Congrats on the 2.5# loss, I want to be in Onederland!! That would mean I'm within 20lbs of goal. WOW! I have forgotten about the band when I go to eat my meal sometimes. Big bite, barely chew.. and it's funny, AS I SWALLOW I play like a movie scene "Ohhhh nooooo" in my brain, and I try to break it up with my throat as it slides down, but it's too late. Kity-.. For an *INFECTION*, antibiotics DO work. Your doc is contradicting himself....I feel the same about the clinic I went to.. I won't be going back there again. The guy was young, had slicked back hair, a thick gold chain on, tight jeans and cowboy boots. He looked all smug, and I was explaining my UTI.. ahem.. and I said "Sex hurts.. peeing hurts".. and he just looked at me like "NASTY!!" lol. Then he went to make my Rx, so I ran out there to tell him to please make it liquid form if they're big, as I can't take hoss size pills. Then he looked at me like I was an idiot. So.. I took full dose of both, and I still hurt. I really don't want to go back to another clinic, so I've just kept taking the antibiotics. It hurts my stomach when I pee! I'm wondering if it's from when I had surgery.. I had to wait a while in the pre-op area where they dope me up.. and at some point I said.. I need to pee, but.. I can hold it, unless I'll pee when I'm under.. they didn't take me to the bathroom, so I held it. When I woke up from surgery (several in and outs throughout a couple hours), I had to pee still. They said I had to pee to prove kidneys working, so they did the little toilet bowl measuring thing.. I went in there and peed for what seemed like days.. they said I peed 800cc's.. and the lady said WOW! lol But I wonder if holding that much pee in me, caused the infection.. I'm rambling -
I planned on going tomorrow to stock up on them, since I only bought the 1 can to try it. I shall post the brand when I get them
-
I have grazer days. I'm not always a grazer, but I DEFINITELY have days where I just want to pick at everything. I do find when I wait till I'm hungry (not eating anything till 5pm).. I'm ready to eat like a pig.. and I'll only be able to eat a couple bites, which is how I know restriction works. And a lot of food IS NOT worth the bother, like you said. But I know the foods I have absolutely no problem with, and they seem to be in my house. Maybe THAT is the answer. Congrats to you either way!!

Why are my co-workers so obsessed with food?
Daisalana replied to mandi78's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Yep, it definitely won't be long before you go 'my god, how can they eat like that/all of that'. I am finding myself disgusted all the time at what a pig my husband is.. or at a restaurant watching others eat.. skinny people, fat people, doesn't matter. Anyone without bariatric surgery eats SO MUCH and SO FAST. And until April of this year, I had no idea. -
Just thought I'd share this.. this is my port scar (it was cut open again recently for another surgery, so this was right before).. and how bruised I got after that fill (poked about 10 times).. and the end result is my port was flipped backward! And that's right after 2nd surgery, a cut over my previous port scar, and a new cut right between the knockers! (The small marks a little bit down from that are scars from the 1st surgery)

Chewable vitamins are just that.. chewable.. I don't understand why you have a hard time taking them? Unless you hate the taste so bad or something?? They do have liquid forms someone else might know a good brand, but with the band you can still take chewable vitamins. I don't take b-12.. But I take flinstone multi-vitamins, and tums ultra 1000 for my calcium (800mg per tablet).

Linda- I know that wasn't directed at me, BUT THE GOOD NEWS.. bands can SAFELY be overfilled. For a 4cc, I think I heard you can hold up to 6cc. I think with 10cc they can go up to 12cc at least. So you still have some room to go, don't worry -
Does anyone else have weird band related dreams or nightmares?
Daisalana replied to BRANDYK's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I haven't had it with the band, probably because I'm on no 'diet'.. But when I did Atkins, I did it SO GOOD and to the t.. less than 5g of carbs a day for months.. I had nightmares ALL THE TIME that I ate like a pizza, or a donut, etc. And I would wake up nearly in tears thinking I ruined everything. -
Just because on Big Medicine the other night, I disagreed with how the psychologist denied the patient due to depression.. (If I had seen this before my eval, I totally would have made sure I sounded bright and kipper). But.. I'd not bring up anything depressing at all. That's just my opinion for the anxiety of being denied for depression which stems from being overweight!!! My psychological eval, I didn't feel like getting into anything 'deep', so I just followed his lead.. I am a happy person, I don't have low self-esteem and I really needed this surgery for my back problems. THAT did make me suicidal. I tried to cut my legs off with a knife one night.. from delirium (sp) of the pain. I didn't bring that up of course.. those are the kind of things I avoided.

You look fabulous! Where's the before pics? -
I think if I was any stricter, I couldn't get liquids down. I think I may be just like .1cc too tight.. But I'm too afraid to have it taken down, knowing how stingy he is with being filled, and having to wait a month..and I hear about losing weight, it loosens up, etc. And when I am consciously eating protein first, and trying to stay full all day on it.. it doesn't seem to work for me. Maybe it is just head hunger.. but after dinner I still feel like eating everything in sight.. You don't have this anymore? Makes me think mine really just is head hunger. I try to curb it with a healthy low cal snack, but I always want more.

Ok.. in respect to this.. I have read on here several times about hot tea/soup/etc 'opening' you. I've never tried it.. But I have tried to sabotage myself the other way around. I try to drink iced tea before a meal in hopes of 'shrinking' it. LOL. I think it's from my months of lack of restriction.. but it's become habit. Does it work this way? I can't say I honestly notice if it's done anything or not, but based on the logic of heat opens it, seems like cold should.. shrink it. SHRINKAGE.. ever see that episode of Seinfeld I like being too tight to get certain things down, keeps me in check.

And awww thank you guys!! The jeans ARE getting baggy, they poof out in the front and make my belly look bigger than it is. So I only wear it if I have a tunic shirt on that hides all that. They're still my favorite jeans (if you saw the flares at the bottom?). It is like 1 in 100 pairs of 'flare' jeans, that I can find that are TALL + PLUS SIZE + BELL BOTTOMS. It's never all 3. And it has to be all 3 for me We went and saw something called the Classic Mystery Tour.. it's 4 guys who dress up and look/sound just like the Beatles.. and a symphony plays their background. Was pretty good, and I'm always amazed at how.. I know 100% of their songs in 2 hours, and when we left I could still think of 20 off the top of my head I wished I'd heard. What other band can I say that about? NONE! I wish they were a band of my generation, I would have loved to go to one of their concerts. We went with my parents, and their parents.. my g'parents knew the beatles' hip hopish songs (twist & shout).. but they didn't know I am the walrus.. so my granny whispered "What's "I am the walrus kookookachu mean??" ROFL. I read a while ago that he thought the walrus was the good guy on Alice in Wonderland that saved the oysters, then later found out it was the bad guy..so I briefly explained that..and DRUGS!!! It made me want to see Cirque Du Soleil's LOVE again. Man, that's my all time best favorite show ever. Now I have to convince husband we gotta go back to Vegas ASAP so I can see it. I said it tonight "Lets hop a plane and go see it" and he's like "I'm not made of money". DARN IT!!!! If I land these new accounts, I might be made of money.. hehehe. I made a comment out loud about how I make more money than him (he complained about a Yankee Christmas Cookie candle I buy every year.. this year it was $22), KNOWING you don't say that to a man.. I had to slap myself because I could tell it hurt his feelings and in return he was being a prick. I just kept saying "Ok, ok! I'm sorry!" over and over. Weee. Then we went to waffle house for dinner.. I had 2 eggs w/cheese and hashbrowns with onions. Ate about 1/4c of it all together. Love my band. -

Glad you said that Ms Jen, I watch a lot of court shows and I *Thought* what happens is, if you don't get child support, you get it through the state, then THEY go after him and put him in jail if they don't pay him back. I don't know personally so I wasn't sure if that was right, but thats what it sounds like on my judge shows. So Jennifur, definitely find out if that's how it works.. he shouldn't be riding around on a new bike when he has someone to support. -

Thought I'd finally take pics of the jeans that I wanted to wear by August (and have been wearin for a while). Unfortunately I can't figure out how to do a full body of myself.. so here's bits and pieces. Oh, and I'm not wearin a bra.. see how flabby I am? If I get plastic surgery, I think that's the only thing I'll work on.. I've never had perky boobs.. I've always had old saggy lookin boobs. AND.. look at my side!! Look how skinny I can look from the side!! And in case you forgot, here are BEFORE pics for point of reference-- -

Terri- Yes, that's what my granny always makes (southern cook!). When I moved out on my own, I told her she HAD to give me her famous meatloaf recipe.. and she pulled out an old lipton packet from her recipe box lol. I buy the lipton soup in bulk from Sam's and it's always in there for an easy cooking night. I always top it with a criss cross pattern of mustard and ketchup. Jennifur- That is horrible! When it rains, it pours, huh? One day it'll all turn around and everything will be hunkey dorey again, just keep strong!! -
I got it in the section where they have.. vienna sausage in cans, spam, chicken in can, etc. at Krogers. Its similar texture to the tuna & chicken in a can, but its a little smoother. The can was a crimson color, I threw it out. I don't recognize the brand (I didn't eat canned meat till lately!). But.. I recommend you try it. I was skeptical, but I am now a believer in canned chicken and turkey.. yayaya!

Yup, I absolutely can't keep it in the house, I have NO SELF CONTROL with it. Most things I either have self control, or the band controls it.. but ice cream is one of those things that just go right through and I love it so much. I've tried keeping it in the house, but I gorge on it.. so it's just not allowed in my house anymore!
