Good snack if you can get it down. I have heard people microwave the pepperoni to make it a crunchy snack.

First time I saw this thread was pre-band, and I thought that's a crazy concept. Now having been overfilled, and being able to feel my port perfectly.. if I had the tools and knowledge, I definitely would have done it myself..

That's what I heard too, but since my heartburn is still crazy as it always has been, I can only hope it's because I still have a ways to go

I have chronic heartburn as it is, and I hear things about how you get heartburn for a while post op.. I take Prilosec once a day and it keeps it under wraps, I will still be able to take Prilosec post-op, correct?

Losing you've been doing wonderful, and I am like you and having a lot of bad days all at once. The good thing is, the band is still there and it's waiting for us!!!! I don't have any moving words of inspiration, but you're not alone. And I personally found solice in Julie's response. I'm glad it's normal. I'm glad to see it does work itself out.

The biggest incision is the port They have to make it big to get the port in there.

LOL. I blame my mom really, she taught me the whole sex is bad and evil concept. Even married, I feel guilty sometimes. I get over it though But I have a hard time talking to anyone about it, even doctors. I go Oct. 22 for a defill, and I think I'll just mention how it hurts bending over and go from there.. test the waters! And legs going up, I am tall so I never had problems getting those things over my shoulders.

Take your pain meds!!!!! Banding made me hurt like hell too, and I didn't want to be loopy, so I didn't take my pain meds when I needed to, and ended up pulling muscles from holding myself funny and was out of work 4 days more than I should have been! Learn from my mistake :Banane35:

So even though its tight and pinching, it's not actually ripping it out of my body? That's what I envision, and it's really a mood killer.

Sue- Those hormel meals are the ones I previously said taste worse than dogfood. You're the first person I've heard say they like them!! I tried the turkey and chicken ones, and literally.. I'd rather have eaten my cats canned food. The canned ham on the other hand.. smells horrid, looks horrid.. tastes wonderful (I've found this to be true on all canned meats).

Ok so.. chicken & tuna I make the normal salad (Miracle whip, relish). Canned turkey + 1tbsp of cranberry sauce- YUM! Now I finally tried canned ham. I was going to make a salad, but felt like doing an old recipe of my moms. She us to serve ham steak with applesauce. So, I had 1/2 can of canned ham, cooked it in a frying pan so it had nice brown marks on it, then mixed it with 1tbsp of applesauce. YUM YUM!! I could only get 2 teeny tiny bites to go down, but this is now one of my favorite recipes in my 'easy to make' arsenal. :clap2:

We were back to our rowdy sex within a week. THAT BEING SAID.. my port was flipped completely backward by my first fill, so.. I can't help but wonder if it had to do with the sex. And now that it's between my boobs.. I am about to start a new thread about it.. when my legs are over my shoulders (ho hum!) it really hurts my port. Feel like it's pulling it out, so I'm afraid I'm going to screw it up again.

I'm a little up in the air. My husband & parents were sooo anti-Mexico when I was getting the band. Didn't matter what I said. Since I had help paying for the surgery, I let them decide for me that I wasn't going to Mexico. HOWEVER.. for plastic surgery, that's going to end up being out of my pocket, and I'd rather save money in Mexico. I've been convinced they have good hospitals there from the testimonials here. I don't want to go to the scary Mexico places, which is why I'm trying to get a grasp on what you're actually paying at the GOOD mexican doctors. If it's not too much cheaper than here where I am, I'd likely not go just for the convenience. On the other hand, I can't get the images out of my head of the plastic surgery pics I saw on another thread yesterday. I can't imagine how painful that is.

The only time I got nauseated from the band, is when I ended up throwing up a HUGE (And I mean HUGE) spit bubble. It was the size of my fist, and somehow made it out of my mouth whole. When I get stuck, I get hiccups normally and hold my breath a lot.. and I think the slime catches air bubbles, which is a doozy. Maybe you just have a lot of slime backing up and its tickling the nausea nerves (I don't know if this really exists, but that's what it feels like to me). Liquids for the rest of the day sounds like a good idea.

I'm jealous of you all.. I want to be short If I was 110lbs at my height, I still wouldn't fit into a 6.

I just tough it out. Making myself a tough cookie :Banane35: Due to back problems I use to pop 4 advil at a time 3x a day. No more NSAIDS, so I tried tylenol.. which does not help my muscle pains. I only take tylenol now when I have migraines.. and it's not really tylenol, I don't remember the brand it just makes me think of tylenol. And don't be discouraged by my story of heartburn. Both parents have bad heartburn (dad is overweight, mom is not).. so it could just be bad genes :Banane10: Not to mention though I've lose a good amount of weight so far, I AM still 99lbs overweight. So in 6 months maybe I'll have a new update!

Beau- You sound like someone my doctor talked about. He told me about a lot of his patients (mostly female) who leave their spouse within a year of being operated on. He said they finally get the self-esteem to lose the dead weight (no pun intended!) they've been carrying around. So, since you've realized he's a problem I think that's the first step. I'm sure your confidence is going to skyrocket in the next few months and you'll find the strength to leave him. :Banane35:

Ohhh and-- today is my 6 month bandiversary. I am going to write a little 'diary' type entry today, reflecting on what's happened so far, how I feel about it, etc. Just something to refresh my brain why I did this, and what I'm doing wrong. I may share it with you guys, depends on how personal I end up getting LOL. Just going to let it all flow out. I also think it'll be helpful in 6 more months to see how I felt as this point.

I was THIS CLOSE (inches) from throwing my scale away again. Instead, I put the cat bed over it so I'm not tempted. I am going to wait for my unfill this following Monday and not weight till a week after that (they weigh me there). And their scale is always 5lbs lighter than mine. Last time they weighed me I was 289. My scale says 279. So their scale should say 274, which makes me happy hehe. Then I'll say unfill this baby JUST A TAD. I'm so nervous it's going to be too loose again. On the other hand, I am anxious to be able to eat normal foods once more.

Actually.. I couldn't take prilosec for about 1 week post-op. And it took 3 days for my heartburn to come back (and normally it is literally everyday without prilosec).. and then it was very mild compared to how it use to be. So I tried taking tums first.. but then it came back full blown. And now every once in a while when I forget my Prilosec, the next day I will have horrible heartburn. So.. I'm not cured. And Prilosec is a timed release pill, you can NOT NOT NOT chew or crush it. That'd be dangerous. But even now I am so tight I can't take my tylenols that are about the size of a flat dime.. but prilosec goes down fine. Whew!

I didn't get emotional post-op, I was too damn excited! For the first time in my life, I didn't WANT TO EAT.. after those 3 weeks, I was back to my whiney self though I would have been upset if someone ate all my mousse! But like someone mentioned, I'd have sent her to go get more that very minute tee hee. Just keep on chugging along, there are 'bad days' and 'good days', and it's all a learning experience.

I went to look at the 12 week pics and it said photobucket took them down for violating TOS. Must have been the nudity? But wow, the first set of pics look so painful!! Is it as painful as it looks? I was thinking of possibly doing my boobs if nothing else, but I don't know if I could put them through that!!!! I am curious how the scars have turned out.. damn photobucket.

Well I just got 2 more bills from the hospital. Still waiting the 2nd half of my refund. I talked to them last week and was told my balance is 0 and they owe me another refund.. now I get a bill for $55 and $22. Jeebus, I hate these people. I have skipped myplate for the past few days, mostly because I graze so much I can't remember everything I put in my mouth. Today I am back to myplating it. B'fast- Frappucino 200c Lunch- Chicken & dumplings (estimated calories based off of myplate) 234c Dinner- Went to Outback, got Alice Spring Chicken. I use to love this when we lived in NM, but I haven't been to the Outback here before.. everything was HORRIBLE, we're never going back. I took 1 bite of it, the chicken was burnt, the cheese was tasteless and burnt.. so after 1 bite (that went down painfully) I passed on it.. I'll give that 20c at most. Came home and had a bowl of cheerios & skim milk- 260c I'm having a pudding for dessert later on, with benefiber mixed in.. 120c. 835c total. I am playing head games tonight, no more snacks, just my pudding.
