drinking with food - cereal loophole??
Daisalana replied to soniacan's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I eat cereal occasionally, and I put the smallest amount of Skim Milk to just moisten the cereal. I don't have liquid remaining when I finish the cereal. Cheerios keep me full a lot longer than yogurt does, so I'm not sure if it's the content or the fact it 'drains out' slower. -

Hah hah.. well, the costume doubles for me. If I'm paying money to dress up, it needs to do something for ME. And I plan to get a little that night -

Ok someone needs to kick my ass into gear. I am making all the bad choices, and even at the time of making them and I tell myself 'STOP!' I just don't.. and I'm snacking way too much. I feel like it's bringing me into a funk, I can't control myself!! What should I do??? -

Ok, I honestly don't know what it's 'suppose' to be. It's just a slutty gothy robe thing. I'm painting my face white with black around my eyes. My plans this year is passing out candy, since it's the first place we lived that has an abundance of kids. VERY EXCITED! -

I had a bad eating weekend. My friend and DH brother (he did make it) were over all yesterday, drinking beer and playing poker/x-box. I didn't drink, but I was in such a laid back mood.. they decided to order pizza.. I don't like pizza, but I like topping.. and they had a new pizza.. the thin crisp melt. I don't even wanna know the calories. It's 2 thin crusts, with the cheese & toppings on the inside. It was SO good, I tried to eat really quick (pre-band mentality), and I quickly got stuck and had to slow down. I grabbed 2 pieces initially. I ate 1.5 pizzas, which was past my 'full' point anyway.. and I was tryin to finish the 2nd piece, but I was sooo stuffed, I was like.. why am I forcing myself to overeat :boink: and then threw it away. Had 2x 100 calorie ice creams.. another piece of pizza for dinner. I'm sure I overloaded on calories yesterday, not gonna look! Gonna keep movin along. My scale yesterday morning said 264lbs LOL! I was like no friggin way, so I looked at it.. BIL was weighing himself and had knocked it halfway onto the carpet so it was unbalanced. I was 274lb though. Woot. I may have gained a little from yesterday, ho hum. -

I'm always available to whip anyone back into shape!! I actually had a sonic blast (same as a DQ blizzard) yesterday.. But I did it un-guiltily. I bowled and gardened yesterday.. had eggs & bacon for b'fast, bowl of chicken soup for dinner.. went to parents house to watch Mr. Brooks and they went to Sonic for treats.. I split a Reese Sonic Blast with my mom.. was alright, but I honestly think my 100 calorie cookies & cream cups taste better. I was worried about the board being down yesterday, I use to be part of a cat forum that one day out of the blue closed up. No warning, nothing. Then a couple months later someone contacted me that someone from the forum decided to open up their own. But the first one, poof. I was like oh no, what will I do!! Was relieved to see it back today. Did some X-mas shopping last night to entertain myself. Got mom, dad & sister's presents. I like getting that stuff done EARLY..before people jack up prices for the holidays. -
I'll preface this with saying, I have no green thumb to speak of. I've even killed potted cacti :car: However, our house 'included' 15 random plants. This included a row of yellow things like look like bells.. and a row of generic bush things. Well, 1 of the generic bush things died.. they put cement under the garden and blah blah, BBB and 3 complaints later they finally fixed it. So, now I want to plant my own garden.. 1st I need to replace the bush, looks all weird without something there now.. and I'd like more filler stuff in there. I don't know ANYTHING about planting. When I was a kid my mom had a garden of a million random things she collected from friends and family. So my granny got me started, she gave me 'everlast' which I kept in a pot next to the front door and has turned into 3 everlasts. I decided to keep them together and put them in the planter near the door. They just started blooming- neato! It's getting cold here..slowly but surely.. I'm hoping someone here will go "Oh I am such a gardner, blah blah" and have wonderful advice for me. I'm googling, but not finding the information I need. I'm in the south, we're in a 6 month+ drought, but typically we get rain pretty regularly. It's getting to be 60's here temperature wise, and our winters only get to the 20's really. No snow. What is an annual plant, that doesn't grow ridiculously big, easy to plant and maintain, and I can plant in the winter? Any suggestions? I like flowering stuff, but I don't like things that die for a whole season. :help:

Aren't boxers wonderful? I know people think I'm looney tune, but I swear she understand every word I say (whether she LISTENS or not is another story). We want to get another one eventually to keep her company. Ok you're in LA, don't know much about your climate.. Birds of Paradise is tropical.. Do tropical things grow in AL?? I looked up some things I'm going to go look for at the nursery.. Pussy Willow, Hydrangea "tree"??, Astilbe Amethyst, and Champanula Blue Chip.. Sounds so fancificated!

I wasn't raised to say ma'am or sir.. so that is the same way to me.. I remember in school teachers would correct me to say it, and it felt so akward coming out of my mouth. Now, I know this is a respect thing, but it just wasn't something I was accustomed to. To this day, I don't do it. And for the record, the last woman my DH said 'ma'am' to (he's southernly, so he opens the doors for ladies, and says things like ma'am to strangers) the lady turned to her husband and said "You hear that? I'm a 'ma'am'". But, sweetie and hon from strangers is the same thing to me. I'm not accustomed to it, I would never DREAM of calling someone I don't know that.. not even friends really.. just DH and only when I want him to do me a favor :car: It feels condescending when I hear it from people.

Wow Terry! You deserve a glass of wine with that cold eggplant!! DH said he always wanted to know how to play guitar (bass guitar particularly), I was looking online at costs of guitars and finding lessons in the area.. Found both, and was debating getting that for him for X-mas. Any ideas on that? I can't decide if that's a good gift or not. Because, secretly it's for me too.. I think that would be major hot :car: I know he's building me a new computer for x-mas (shhh I don't know). And that's more of a gift to him. I told him a couple valentine's days ago (when he bought me RAM for my computer as a b'day/v'day gift).. I'm sentimental and gushy, I don't want PRACTICAL gifts lol. And yet he is building me a computer. I get along fine on this hand me down, and I've told him before not to ever buy me something that has to be plugged into the wall. Thought that counts, right? So, it makes me wanna do the lessons more and more. He's the opposite, every gift giving oppertunity he gets something electronic from me. Maybe this x-mas we'll both be different.. I'll give him something fun and impractical, and he'll give me a computer.. hehe. -
Wowee! I wanna see it!!!!!! So, what keeps you from pulling the anchor right out of the skin??
-
Oh wait, after googling I realize I want PERENIALS.. *NOT* Annuals :car:

Good luck!! I was thinking that too, but some reason I can't let go of my summer clothes just yet :x

This is the first time ever we've lived in a neighborhood RAMPANT (and I mean this literally) with kids! So this year, I WILL have trick or treaters. I decorated for the first time and everything. I'm very excited. We've bought candy in the past, and never had a single kid come (lived in a ghetto neighborhood in Albuquerque, and then an apartment in Albuquerque).. then lived in a house on a street that only had 8 houses on it, with 1 set of kids.. who likely went somewhere else to trick or treat. So.. I have my costume.. and I am killing 2 birds with 1 stone.. If I'm going to pay for a costume, I want it to be something that doubles as kinky for the DH :car: It shimmies down a little more up top and up a little more in front. And just for the record Judy.. I've heard that minister's wives can be PARTICULARLY kinky That's all I'm going to say -
Yeah, they tend to give me valium right before they put me under.. the 'in between time'.. I fidget all the time anyway, but I think they take it as a nervousness.. they always make comments about me bouncing my feet...then give me the valium and I go into la-la land.

I had to have my port fixed too, it had flipped also. Why was your surgeon suspended??? If that is the only clinic covered by insurance, do they have other surgeons?

Freeeezing..what does it mean?

Since surgery both hands, feet, and my nose are almost always cold. I attribute it to the lower calorie intake.. and the insulation reduction :car: -
Sadly, junk food goes down easy and never 'fills me up'. It just goes and goes. I could eat a whole bag of my ritz chips or a whole box of my weight watcher cake things.. and not bat an eye. It sucks. And when it's TOM, I endulge :car: But the good news is, no gain, right?? I certainly don't gain during my 'bad times', and it takes only a couple days of strict bandster eating to kick that scale back into shape. Let the guilt go, move forward!

I have enough far-fetched dreams to know, dreams are just randomly pieced conscious & subconscious thoughts. You're gay. That is all. -

TracyK- WOOT! I am just trying to keep some people (ho hum) from squatting on the floor and pinching up their faces :car: How ironic, we had chinese take out tonight too. I got the sweet & sour pork. I decided to try something new there everytime we go (they have a billion items). It was so-so.. LOTS of breading, ridiculous amounts compared to the meat inside.. ended up de-breading them and dipping them in the sweet & sour sauce.. and I had about 4 pieces of that, and the entire spring roll *YUM*. They have great spring rolls, was full of those clear noodles and lettuce. DH's middle brother was coming to spend the weekend (JUST the weekend) with us.. he called and said he was leavin TN.. about 30 minutes later, one of his friends called and said he was arrested. They don't know why, but got pulled over 30m out of town so he got to call his friend to come get his car. My guess is he either had drugs or stolen plates. Crazy kids, glad whatever it was happened before he got to my house yeesh. DH did clean the house all nice since his bro was comin, that's the plus side. I'm working on clothing in my little game. If anyone watches The Office, last night's episode where Dwight was in flying into buildings in the video game and he said he was a Paper Salesman there too.. that's the game I make clothes in CSI NY just opened a branch in the game too.. I'm not into CSI unfortunately. The L-Word opened an island (well, Showtime really) and opened a club and some shops, I turned in my shop resume to be a vendor for them, that would rock my socks. -
I use to eat bread all the time, yum yum. Since banding I have toast for b'fast maybe once a week. I pass on the rolls at dinner, and tear apart my tacos. I hate Atkins, and refuse to ever do it again.. which means I don't count my carbs.. But I can guess since banding I drastically reduced my carb intake.. and it's not intentional, I just don't happen to be drawn to the breads anymore. I still love taters and eat them every other day though :car:

Next thing you know, they're going to say eating makes you fat. THE NERVE OF PEOPLE! :biggrin1::guess
