That is a huge jump. My guess is that my 'sweet spot' would be 1.3cc. I'm at 1.5cc, but I'm slowly losing restriction. I can definitely eat more food items than I could a couple weeks ago, but portions still have to be small or I get sick. Maybe 1.5cc is my new sweet spot.. which means at this rate, I will need to get a fill in a month! Blah. I have an appt. for like Jan 23, I'm bumping it out. I don't need a fill right now and I'm not driving 6 hours for him to weigh me.

NEW! 2008 Shrinkin' Vi's Trip Planning Thread!!

Tunica has tons of outlet malls right next to the casinos and the casinos are in this one little spot with connected roads. It's pretty nice. The spa is right in front of them. And I could get us the 'pimp suites' that have hot tubs, pool tables, and never ending bar hehe. Did I mention free drinks? -
I'm not looking at all the other suggestions so maybe this is mentioned.. But when we were planning ours last year, we wanted to save money on food because I wanted other stuff to be more expensive and the budget only goes so far... -If you hold the reception right after lunchtime (or dinner), everyone is expected to have eaten, so you can just serve the cake & drinks. -Same theory, you can just serve finger foods. (This is what we went with, we rented the room in a restaurant- which was free if we were ordering food. We ordered the appetizer sampler, a whole lot of them and had them scattered on tables.) -Have a buffet. This was a close 2nd for us, we were going to have a local BBQ place cater.. and have a cook out theme hehe. It was only like $5-7 per person to have the works.

This goes back to, I've never heard someone say they thought it was 'cheating at weight loss'. That's like saying a drug addict is cheating by going to rehab. how is it 'cheating' to do something that betters your life? All this is confusing to me. If anyone ever tried to say they thought I was taking an easy way out or something, I'd honestly just stare at them in confusion.

And we like rare meat anyway, and I've never had lamb well-cooked. So I cooked mine medium on the ends, medium-rare on the inside. Num num.

Pricey is the opperative word. It was 20 bucks for the 2lbs of ribs, which was mostly bone. But in restaurants, they only give 2 of the ribs and it's a $40 meal. I've never seen lamb shanks for sale. I actually have been looking for a specialty butcher so I could get duck.. and I found one, then it ends up it's closed! The nearest one is about 30m from my house, and I honestly don't care to drive that far for food. I plan to eventually but not anytime soon. I've never seen lamb in the stores until this week, it was in the seafood section though and I normally skip over that too (I have never been able to cook seafood at home that I thought tasted good). My lamb turned out divine, I loved it. I will be making it again. Woke up this morning, the dog got the tinfoil from the roast out of the trash and was licking it up. She liked it too.

Crud - I swallowed a piece of gum :-(

Since you're so freshly banded, I would NOT recommend trying to PB it up. I didn't realize you're only 3 weeks out. -
Georgia- where are you in GA? I live in Huntsville, and we have an Avenue here. I am wearing a bra today that I have come to love. It's from Lane Bryant.. it is underwire, and last I saw they had a lot of colors to choose from. But it's a normal bra.. with 2 hooks on each strap. And you can 'convert' it into a sportsbra is the theory.. but really, I hook the straps together, and it pulls my boobs even happier into the air, and keeps the straps from ever falling off or bothering me. Makes the bra fit perfect for me.

Judy will catch up! Mwhaha. He liked it, we were both paranoid about ripping the ceiling down.. how do you explain that? hah hah. We didn't use it last night (by time we got around to it, my Nyquil was in full force), so we did it the lazy way hehe. But I spent 30 minutes sitting in it while we watched TV, it's comfy and no signs of it busting down. So I'm working on getting the confidence to be putting weight and moving about on it. I think it's going to be a lot of fun! Like I said, I bought the hammock chair to hang there, so in the case the ceiling ever does fall down.. I'll make sure the hammock chair is connected to the hook when we call a repair person in LOL!

I'm taking Spanish 2 this semester. Just the way life is, I BS'd my way through Spanish 1. Just did what I had to, to pass. I didn't learn it. I've taken French before, and I'm one of those people who can't understand the concept for the language, so I don't learn it. I.E. English makes sense to me, I don't 'get' other languages. I hate that about me, I want to retain them. In any event, I found out to get this other degree I have to take Spanish 2. So here I am. I get this degree after this semester if I don't screw it up. Failure isn't an option, so we'll see how I manage to get through 2! I used a lot of altavista translator last time. Then one assignment I had to make a video of me talking about my life in spanish. I translated it on altavista, printed it out and had DH hold it up next to the camera LOL. Weee.

I love a lot of stuff. I love poker.. I play WSOP and WPT events when they come to Tunica. I have not done any good (I did win my first tournament in Vegas right after I turned 21, but it's gone down hill since.. now it's just fun). I like reading.. my favorite are biographies. I also like forensic murder stories, real ones.. kind of biographies too I guess. I loooove music.. my favorite bands are Incubus, Third Eye Blind, and Sick Puppies. I'm married.. have 3 ragdoll cats, and 1 boxer dog. I guess that's it for me for now!

Hello fellow 20's I'm about to be 24.. I was banded 4/16/07 last year.. replaced my port in sept.. lost a good bit of weight.. all this is in my signature, but lack of anything else to say about me. I LOVE MY BAND! I wish I had done this when I was 18, but at least we're all doing it NOW!

Funny you said that! I never had lamb until I did foreign exchange in Australia. I had a lamb rib. OMG. It was SO wonderful, I craved it when I got home. Only places I find it now, are expensive high dining restaurants. They only give you a teeny tiny bit, and I have always loved it. I never saw lamb in stores before, so I was getting the rib, which is all I ever had (In australia and at restaurants). I have to say the leg of lamb turned out WONDERFUL!!! I loved it. I will definitely be making it again. I did try the crab though, and it was DISGUSTING. It was so fishy, it made me gag. What a bummer, I'm going to give it to my Granny who has such a love for seafood she won't notice how fishy it is.

I guess the sad part is, it's not an addiction yet. But it will be. She's at the beginning stage, and we've caught it early but she's still not listening. Same thing happened when she first started popping pills. Now it's a regular occurance and the girl spends thousands a week (parent's money). Just keep her in your prayers, that's all I can ask for. All the talking falls on deaf ears. So young and stupid, but we saw first hand what drug addiction does, so I just don't get it. If what we went through wasn't enough, I don't know what is. My bro got cleaned up because he was facing 4 years in prison. But like I said, he's still not entirely clean, but at least off of meth which was miserable for the rest of us. No more bad thoughts, trying to just let all this stress go, so tired of worrying about their lives when I have enough poo in my own. We installed the sex swing tonight. I had him bounce on it for a while, while I examined the damage to the ceiling hah hah. It made the ceiling bounce, but he says that's normal. There was no cracking noises or anything. I bounced on it for a while and even stood on it and jumped on the cords, just to test. Looks like it's all good. I bought a hammock chair to put up when we don't have the swing up. It's next to the bed, so now I'll have a nice chair to sit in when I'm in there watching tv. Also, we gave our laptop to DH's parents (I don't know why honestly, he gives them a lot of our stuff without asking me)... and they are giving it back because they're buying a new one. YAY! I'll be able to post and play pogo in the bedroom now. DH is making good steps towards fixing the issues we've been having.. I didn't know he was, but I overheard it when he was talking to a friend, and I'm really proud of him. That swing may go to good use tonight I think it's neat you guys teach. I actually always had dreams of being a high school english teacher. I had 1 good english teacher, with such love and passion for literature.. she made me enjoy books I didn't even like. Just because you get inspired by her passion. Anyway, I wanted to be like her, inspire a love of literature in those who didn't have it. And I was always good at spelling & grammar (even if I type lazy, you'd be amazed all the technical info I know in english hah). That fell to the wayside, in all honesty, because of money. I have extravagent tastes, and an english teacher doesn't get paid all that much. I had to be realistic. Maybe one day when we're older, if DH is making more, I'll look into it again. Ok going to bed, night v's, thanks for being you!

Made my first lamb at home. I gotta say, it was fantastic. Leg of lamb, I marinated it overnight (and most of today) in lemon juice, thyme, marjoram, garlic, sliced onions, and olive oil. Cooked it in the oven by some directions I found online. It had a pop-up thermometer in it (came that way) and I never got the bugger to pop up. But I found out they can sometimes not pop up. We like rare meat anyway, so I wasn't too worried. Most of it was medium done. I made a red wine gravy from some of the drippings.. and we had it with asparagus. It was wwwwooonndderrrfullll. When I went to put it into myplate, it wasn't as high calorie as I figured it would be. Lamb is goot! But I didn't eat anything else today, so I didn't care at the time. Now I'm enjoying my 1/2 ginger ale.

Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

Missed B'fast & Lunch. 2oz of leg of lamb, 1/2 can of asparagus.. both in a red wine gravy. 4tbsp of chocolate whip cream for dessert. 1/2 can of ginger ale. -
Just so ya know, landlord can't legally kick you out without 30 day notice, even if it is for non-payment. So if they try to kick you out the next morning, call the cops. And sorry you're going through all this

Painful burping & hiccups - does that go away?
Daisalana replied to MamaJava's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wouldn't say the burps & hiccups go away, I have them just as bad as day 1 hehehe. I think that opening plays around a lot when you take in air. But, the pain definitely goes away. It's sore and adjusting to having the band, so the pain will lessen, and you may be like me and find yourself ripping burps in public without even thinking about it.. -
I just bought my first pair of size 16 pants

Congratulations! -
And I figured out why DH has become an immature kid lately. He said it's because he knows we're going to start having kids soon, and wants to enjoy all the things in life that are fun while he can. Lovely, eh? It's like the last meal syndrome, so that's why he's driving me nuts.

Hey guys, I got a prayer request. I'm just at a loss. Short story, my bro was a bad crystal meth addict, and I grew up with the reprecussions.. the abuse, anger, destruction, yadda yadda. Because of his addiction, I never got into the drug scene. I knew what it did, it scared me, it brought back trauma when I thought about doin drugs heh. Then there's my little sister, who is too stupid to learn from anyone else's mistakes. She's 18. She dropped out of HS, and my parents pay for everything in her life, she doesn't have to work or do anything. She manipulates them. I have known for a while she's been doing all kinds of pills.. oxycoton, xanax, etc. Me and DH have tried talking to her as an adult, not lecture, but the affects and yadda yadda. She said she doesn't do it anymore. Her GF told me otherwise. We talked again, she really played us, made us think she's cleaning up.. Well me and my bro talked today.. sad.. my bro still pops pills and smokes weed regularly, but he's not a meth head, so I'm content with him doing the 'lesser evils'. But he said my sister has been getting crazy into HEROIN. I'm just at a loss. She's not listening to anyone. He even tried talking to her about why she shouldn't do that stuff. She isn't listening. So just pray for her. He said he knows she's doing deadly combinations of drugs, and there's no sign of stopping. I don't get it.

Can I throw out some ideas? Maybe I'm the only one, but I love casinos.. and all the comps, spas, etc.. ho hum. Tunica is great, and I can get a lot of rooms comped, full spas comped, blah blah. hehe. -
I guess I look at it different. Although they are heavy and a nuisance sometimes.. there is undeniable proof that they have as much power as everyone jokes about. I couldn't tell you how many times the fact I had big boobies popping out of my shirt, helped in situations in my career, or getting things done (mechanic, handyman, etc.). Just saying.

Wait, you're getting rid of the ladies?

My best advice is to throw out the scale. I did that for the first 5 months, because it was discouraging. I finally bought another one because curiosity was killing me, but when you're at a plateau, or maybe you're losing inches instead of lbs, etc.. it can frazzle your motivation. You need to ignore the weight if you're plateauing and focus on continuing to do good things. I also 'mix it up' to confuse my body. I eat under 1,000 calories normally, but twice a week I will spike it to 1,500ish calories.. for fun.. hehe. It seemed to be working for me.
