Hope everyone has a happy and thankful Thanksgiving!!!
-
Jane, did you get my e-mail??? So I was up at 5am to start cooking for thanksgiving..and man child was up! I got orange peels boiling as I type. I am making 2x squash/zucc casserole, 2x brussel sprouts au gratin, a pumpkin cheesecake, a boston cream pie, and sugared candy orange peels. Whew!! The orange peels have to boil 3x at 30m each, then an hour. So I've got that going right now. I had an extra pie plate (I planned to make pumpkin cheesecake), and made the mistake of asking Russ what kind of pie he'd like. He said some kind of custardy thing--like Boston Cream. Well of course I have no pudding, and we already went to the store, so I am going to be making that bad boy from SCRATCH. I can't wait  We go to my granny's every year, big to-do. 2 years in a row now due to her mad cow's disease, she has messed up the turkey and we end up with 2 little ones after she messed up the big one. This time she defrosted her turkey 3 weeks ago, and it spoiled. Now she cooked her 2 other turkeys 2 days ago because she thought today was Thanksgiving. Ho hum. Once the peels boil for the 3rd time, I'm off to work, then we're coming home early.. cleaner comes today, so I think we're leaving around 2.

PAMela, yer not suppose to open it yet, SHEESH!!! LOL I was just getting it out of my office.. About the recall, didn't hear about it, BUT.... when my ped asked if we wanted it, I told him..we've been exposed to it already (both strands went around work before he was old enough for it), and we all made it. So, since you never know long-term about these things and they rushed them out, I felt I'd rather risk getting the flu. He's a big strong boy, if any of us got it, I do believe we'd be fine, it would just suck... but it's better than a vaccine that they have no long-term info on. Now I'm really glad!! Although pregnancy has caused ridiculous allergies for me, that apparently are not going to go away or be subdued.

Yeah what are you looking for Susanne? See, I thought the Griffin book got slow, I was about 40 pages in when I stalled out on it.

Oh mom told me her horror stories with Santa, so she said she's not coming lol. My brother the first time she took him, line was so long, by time they got there his diaper leaked all over--she didn't notice, and left a big spot on Santa's lap. The next year, Santa only had 1 leg, so they tucked his pants into the boot. No one noticed, my mom accidentally knocked it over putting my bro on his lap, so the picture has Santa with only 1 leg and the boot laying on the ground LOL.

Well we were literally the only ones for Santa, so they were going to lunch after us. Santa told me to hand Carson to him backward, he said "So he doesn't see me". Clever clever. So then girls in reindeer outfits are dancing around trying to get him to smile and he's staring at them with an O mouth like "What the heck". Russell finally got him to squeal, which we are passing off as a smile! Bought it on USB.. got back to work, NO PIC!! UGH. So I ran back down there, luckily his pic was still pulled up, they just got back from lunch.. so they put it on. Girl said they are having the hardest time with the USB's... so check them before you pass them to people!! JEESH. Anyway, here we are...

(((((JUDY))))) Today is like Wed., so happy. We're taking Carson to see Santa today during lunch. Fingers crossed the lines haven't started yet. Also going to pick up an Angel Tree person if that's opened up.

I was out of control with binge eating the junk food that goes down (this is unlike me!!!) yesterday, and I think it has to do with my stopping smoking. I felt like I had to be eating every waking minute. I don't normally feel this way!! For those of you who quit, what do you do to keep from gaining weight during this period? Yeah, if I stop binge eating junk it'll help, but I don't have the will power, I gotta replace it with something.. I feel like I'm starving 24/7.

Good news is Pam, November is almost over for you!!! I can't believe how quick time is flying. I just ran to BabiesRUs.. had a coupon and needed a couple things (socks.. I swear to everything I've ever known, nobody loses socks likes BABIES). I opened a NEW pack a month ago, and between opening the pack and washing it, I lost 2 socks. Where does it go!! I checked the agitator, nothin. I keep waiting for them to appear, but no. Anyway, I found some shoes on sale, stretchy leather ones with 2 different monsters on the toes. I guess they're leftover from Halloween but I thought they were cute boy shoes just-so. I don't put shoes on him yet, his feet are fat like mine and don't fit in em. But I hope the stretchy ones will fit alright. PBing garlic bread from TGIF.. yum. I just finished making this year's Christmas cards. Prepress has been proofing them for me, some how one of my colors gets lost between my computer & theirs. They're working on it now, can't wait to see the finished product!!

I heard theyr'e expecting a pumpkin shortage this year due to bad crops, so stock up if yer makin pumpkin stuff!!

LOL Michelle, that is hilarious, I just sent it around work. I like regretsy (I sent that to Terry too, thought she'd enjoy it), peopleofwalmart, fark.com, and postsecret.com (it's updated every Monday). Going to lunch with a friend today, margies! Er, no.. just chips & dips. I put my tree up this weekend, did I mention that?? I have been dyin to do it, when we went to the mall Santa & tree are up, so I decided I could do it too. Already filled with presents and everything. I am planning to take Carson to see Santa, if I do it soon. I hear there's no lines yet. I WON'T stand in a line with him all day for Santa pics.

OMG... you know he put it in his mouth. UGH UGH UGH. Luckily my cats are too pansy to even kill a tiny bug.. they let me know it's there, then I have to handle it. So if we get mice again this winter, it's glue traps again.

LOL Pam you're about to be disappointed, it's nothing like that. Judy, is Grady drinking Water from adult bottles? I think it's the funniest thing, Carson LOVES water.. which is good, maybe since he sees me drinking it. If he sees a bottle of water, he opens his mouth and bangs till you pour some. Then you can't stop! Also when we go to restaurants I order a water and feed it to him through the straw. He just can't get enough. So funny to watch. It's helpful for our sign language, something he reeeeeally wants, so he pays attention.

PAMela, I sent you an e-mail. Anxiously awaiting a response

Hair!
-
Well, I remember the day before Carson was born I told mom I thought bald babies were so cute--she said she didn't think they were.. then Carson was born with a full head of hair... and of course, I didn't care either way. Then it fell out. I still think he's adorable! It's hard to tell in pics, but he's actually got quite a bit of hair now, it's just light and dark striped, doesn't turn out with the camera. Heather, Carson 'teethed' for 2 months, I never found anything good for him to teethe on.. then a week before he finally got a tooth last week, was a horrible week, it was his normal teething x20. He wasn't sleeping well and wailing a lot. Carson drools non-stop too, we go through a couple bibs a day and it smells sooo horrid. I actually looked up last night (speaking of laundry!!!!!!!) how to get rid of that disgusting smell that's lingering in the collars of everything he owns. Something said to soak it in the washing machine in hot water with dish soap & detergent.. then clean and during rinse cycle add 1c of vinegar. I did it, and low and behold it worked. I was about to throw out several bibs.. they seem clean but when the first drop of drool hit it, it smelled rotten!! He just finally started rolling over too about a week ago. From either side, but mostly from his back to his belly in bed, and then crying till I come and flip him back over. But he does it over and over! I just took some cell pics of his hair, gonna upload in a new post in a sec. You can also see his sores in his head (he gets that from daddy!!!!), he's on medicated shampoo but so far I think it's just making it worse. And did I mention he's in 12m clothes already?!

Ready for number 2?? You kiddin me? I just rocked Carson for 45m tryin to get him back to sleep!!! Michelle, I was pounding out a book a week till I got the Kathy's memoirs. I love her, and I thought I'd like the book.. I guess it has potential, but it's such a slow read, I've been stuck on it since I read The Help (I guess August!). I finally gave up on it last night and I'm starting the new Tori Spelling book Mommywood. We got the money we put into the Christmas Club this week. Was almost double what I thought it would be.. I don't look at our paycheck stubs so I never see the tally. Nice and needed surprise!!

LOL JUDY!!! I bought Carson a baby cell phone last night. As silly as that sounds, he loves buttons and MY cell phone and the remotes, so I thought (correctly) he'd like it. I can't wait till he's movin around. Did ya'll see the picture of him with the twins yesterday?? They are 2 months old and weigh 7 and 9lbs. They were so itty bitty compared to him. He was trying to talk to them (his new noise to get attention) and one was sleeping, the other didn't know how to respond, so he would get mad and look back at me like 'What's their problem???'.

Jane is right! I can vouche, all those fade, even permanent. As someone who has dyed my hair since I was 13. I actually used the color you're talking about, except not the shade. I used the l'oreal cooler, one of the browns, to get the red out of my hair when I was going brunette for a little while. About to go to steak&shake with my friend, I love their chili.. we have one by work but Russ doesn't like it, so I've not been in a LONG time. I think sun-in is a mild bleach or something, isn't it Jane?? I tried it before mom let me dye my hair, and it never did anything. I do recommend the melting pot!!! It was 'fun' and tasty. Gave us things to talk about. He picked out the swiss fondue as the starter (boring, an I don't like swiss as just something to eat) which came with cubed bread, apples, and veggies. It was alright, I'd have loved to tried the fancier cheeses. Then you have to agree on a 'sauce' that they make in a pot at your table, and then you buy your own meal (or, we shared one because we weren't too terribly hungry), they bring out raw meats on a tray (we ordered a sampler, had teriyaki beef (my fav), filet mignon, chicken, salmon, and shrimp). Then they made the sauce at our table, and left us alone. Oh they also give you a bunch of dipping sauces, and a bowl of veggies. So we took the capped mushrooms, put a sauce in, cookes some meat, made our own stuffed mushrooms. My shrimp was last since he's allergic. I can't wait to go back. We donated $10 to St. Judes through them (I donate to them anyway!!) and got a $20 gift certificate in return. We wanted to do the (expensive) dessert, but it was 11:20 by that time and they closed at 11. Their dessert is you pick a chocolate type (he wanted boring milk chocolate) but they had swirled and blah blah, and then they give you rice krispy treats, pound cake, marshmellows, strawberries and bananas... we're gonna go back one night just to get dessert!

Ok I don't know where the thought came from, but it popped in my head a couple times this week. Can ANYONE imagine Michelle BEFORE kids???? It seems like Michelle is such a go-getter mom, I can't imagine her NOT being a mom. I know, it's random, but I don't know anyone else who I can't picture them pre-kids. Mom's b'day was good, Russ had to go to work around 4, and I left then too to get Carson bathed and ready for bed, but everyone else stayed and watched Up (I already saw it, the beginning was good and made me cry, but the adventure part bored me). I hate ONE TINY square of sopapilla.. and PB'd a bit on it. Yay band. Then last night when I got home I had cereal, pumpernickel bread with jelly on it, and 2 doves candies with no problem. Durr. Oh and Carson was up this morning at 4am and would not go back to bed. I am drowning in coffee.

Date night, went to 2012--which I originally didn't want to see, 2012 thing scares me, but.. movie wasn't like the real things speculated IMO. God promised he wouldn't flood the world again, and this ultimately was a big flood. And the ending was disappointing. Over all though, I liked it. Then we went to The Melting Pot. Wasn't sure if we would like it-- but we did, it was good and a lot of fun. We had a private booth and after the guy fixed the pot, we got to 'play' with the food. I also had a glass of wine. Just got home, and I'm about to make sopapilla cheesecake for mom's bday cookout tomorrow. Had to come on here to find the recipe. Hope you're all having a good weekend!!

Heh! I am baptized and I'm a Christian, I just don't go to church, I think I've told ya'll why before. But, I don't want to baptize him into a church, if that makes sense. I believe all these things exist outside of a church. I just know the church is the forum for certain things, like this. I know I was baptised during a church service, which would be fine.. I just know there's Christening that's a big to-do, where it's scheduled outside of normal hours and lots of people come, that's what I don't want. I guess I'll call around here and see what I see.
-
Judy, I have a question for you! I am wanting to get a blessing Christening for Carson.. I don't belong to a church, and I don't want a big ceremony, I just want the Christening done. How would I go about that? Would churches let someone not in the congregation come in to do this?
-
Michelle- Any chance it's bad Rx on your new glasses???? Or just adjusting to a new Rx? I know I get headaches when I get new glasses for several months. I have been rocking out my Christmas music for 2 days now, I am SO READY. I luvre Christmas.

I know, I wish we could get together regularly :tongue_smilie: Hey Judy, we can't decide where to go for lunch, was wondering if you can ask your retreat guy if God could tell him where we need to go???
