I need a hug!! Anyone else think that guy (BMI 35-45?) on the right in the ad, looks like a pregnant woman at first glance? Everytime I see it out of the corner of my eye, I think it's a pregnant lady!

Clothes after Surgery
Daisalana replied to irishgirl359's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Uhm yea, I didn't have any scary tests. Sonogram, X-rays, pee in a cup, draw blood, that kind of thing. Then the psych eval, is the 'worst' test IMO. It was a lot of hooey. But nothing was so bad I thought anything of it. -
I was doing lots of protein, biotin, and every other thing I heard to try. It didn't do anything. I finally gave up about 3 months ago, and about 1 month ago I realized it's growing in thicker again. So my best advice is to just tough it out for a little while, add volumizing mousse, blow your hair dry upside down, etc.

Anyone wish they had chosen bypass??
Daisalana replied to xokimberlyxo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I have to say I see in almost every RNY I know (and pics I've seen online), do look sickly at goal compared to LB. I have always noticed that, when I debated RnY years ago, I thought about how sickly I may end up looking. My Doc pushes RnY I think because he had it, and you're gung-ho (mostly) for whatever it is you had. And he's been doing them a lot longer. I guess he's with the tried & true.. and the statistics of the band aren't super. He said if his daughter wanted WLS, he would give her RnY (I guess that's assuming she didn't have an opinion). I even told them, well, I'll show YOU how accurate your statistics are. I was determined to prove to him that the lap-band is just as good as RnY. Still workin' on it. But they were super-impressed that I was down 60lbs last time I was there, after only having my band fixed for 2 months. Down 32lbsish since then, mwhaha! I cancelled this month's appt. since I don't need an adjustment. -
Woohoo Tracy, pampering  I'm havin a lousy day all around. I'm getting really emotional for whatever reason. Customers are making me upset, DH is makin me upset and he works here so I can't avoid him, and I'm just ready to throw something.. or go home already. Got customers being jackasses and once again nothing is ever their fault, so it's damage control for their mistakes. I always get to feeling guilty, I need to just say "Hey look, you screwed up, I'm fixing it, but don't make me feel bad about it". :glare:

Blended chicken wasn't on my mushy list.. scrambled eggs were though.. scrambled eggs w/ cheese is high protein and tastey!

The night before surgery I was in a hotel room with my (then fiance), and drinking magnesium citrate. I was so worried about explosive poos that night, and waking up early enough (5am scheduled), didn't think anything of the surgery.

Anyone wish they had chosen bypass??
Daisalana replied to xokimberlyxo's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I wouldn't do any surgery open. My doc was more toward RNY (having had it himself), but he didn't tell me I was wrong for wanting the band, just threw out those statistics. I have lost 60% of my excess weight so far! Every once in a while I do wish I had done RNY just so I'd be at goal already.. but then it passes, and I'm glad I did it the safer, reversible, etc. way. -
What an eye-catcher! I think you really have genetics to blame here. I am skeptical of any machine that boasts to grow your boobs. If it was that easy, why would people get implants? Much like, if the diet pills worked, why would someone have a weight loss surgery? I have not lost an iota of boobie cup.. but my mom was a size 2 with C cup when she was my age. So I was kind of prepared not to lose any (I could stand to lose some :glare: )

My mom said the coughing up my lungs is probably from the stopping smoking, my lungs trying to purge the ick. So I said, well I'm tryin to back track ,do I need to chain smoke all day to get rid of my hacking?! DH is pissin me off again, he wantin his brother to come visit for the weekend so they can play video games the whole time. I told him weeks ago, I don't leave till the Monday and we are suppose to do my b'day dinner & movie this weekend. ARGH. So much for romance.

Here's your Friday tip of the day. 9 Tips In Life That Lead to Happiness Understand what it is that will make you happy. Everyone has unique requirements for attaining happiness and what makes one person happy may be very different from what makes someone else happy. Revel in your individuality and do not worry about whether or not your desires are comparable to those of your peers. Make a plan for attaining goals that you believe will make you happy. Your mood will very likely increase as your pursue your goal because you will feel better about yourself for going after something you value. Surround yourself with happy people. It is easy to begin to think negatively when you are surrounded by people who think that way. Conversely, if you are around people who are happy their emotional state will be infectious. When something goes wrong try to figure out a solution instead of wallowing in self pity. Truly happy people don’t allow set backs to affect their mood because they know that with a little thought they can turn the circumstances back to their favor. Spend a few minutes each day thinking about the things that make you happy. These few minutes will give you the opportunity to focus on the positive things in your life and will lead you to continued happiness. It’s also important to take some time each day to do something nice for yourself. Whether you treat yourself to lunch, take a long, relaxing bath or simply spend a few extra minutes on your appearance you will be subconsciously putting yourself in a better mood. Finding the humor in situations can also lead to happiness. While there are times that require you to be serious, when it is appropriate, find a way to make light of a situation that would otherwise make you unhappy. Maintaining your health is another way to achieve happiness. Being overweight or not eating nutritious foods can have a negative effect on your mood. Additionally, exercise has been known to release endorphins that give you a feeling of happiness. Finally, it is important to understand that you deserve happiness. Those who believe that they are not worthy of happiness may subconsciously sabotage their efforts to achieve happiness. If necessary, tell yourself each day that you deserve to be happy and remind yourself what steps you will take to achieve the happiness you desire :tongue2:

Makes me think maybe it has to do with the saliva glands? They're overactive trying to move stuck food, so maybe the ones in the mouth decide to swell up too.. :confused2:

Clothes after Surgery
Daisalana replied to irishgirl359's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wore a cotton sundress into the hospital, and wore it out of the hospital. Was very big on me, and felt like wearing a housedress, but it was put together to be a dress I could wear in public. When I got home, I had bought nightgowns 2x sizes too big to wear around the house. Eventually, I wore baggy flannel PJ bottoms with them. -
WOOHOO Michelle! I wanna do somethin fun.. stupid NY visit  I could drive to Orlando!! I am going to try to find knock-off purses in back alleys and in vans though. Hah. Yes, I always clean my house before I go out of town. Detail cleaning, like dusting pictures and windexing everything. It's just nice to come home to! Still coughing my lungs up, I hate being sick, and I'm going to be coughing them up for customers it looks like. :tongue2: I like these new smilies. Going to be a good bandster today if it kills me. I had 4 100 calorie packs for ONE snack last night. Dammit.

I love love love musicals! My first was when I was about 10- Cats. I have so many that I've seen from when they travel.. I loved Sunset Blvd., Chicago, RENT, Annie, Jesus Christ Superstar. Next week I'm seeing my very first broadway.. ON BROADWAY. I'm going to see Wicked, which I hear is good. What's your favorite broadway?

Yeah my last trip was a week or so ago, I went with my mom to stock up for their Superbowl party. It was a week from Sunday actually. It was about 10pm and I was surprised at the crowd.. and only 2 lanes open. We timed it, 45 minutes to get through. The first line, 5 people in line, and the first person was doing something that they had to scan bottles of gatorade, then check the receipt and mark something, repeat.. and she had about 20 bottles. So we moved lines, and they put up the 'closed' sign. So we moved back, still not moving. Then we moved to a new lane that opened (4th to get there), and the front person is paying with a crap load of coins. Ugh. 45 minutes.

I hate being harassed when I walk out. Me and DH will have 2 buggies full (groceries and 'whatever' shopping), mostly bagged, except the 40lb dog food bag. And the little old person wants to see my receipt. I finally learned to keep it handy instead of shoving it in my bottomless pit of a purse. Then they look at my 5ft long receipt, one line at a time. I've even looked over their shoulder to help, and pointed out the dog food bag. But they get mad at me, and start where they left off, 30 items behind. I get noisily annoyed. Give me a break, I spent $600 bucks and I'm ripping off a $30 bag of dog food? Another time, similarly had a full buggie.. and we were wanting to buy a perfume.. a $14 dollar bottle of cologne, which is behind a locked cabinet. It took 4 employees almost an hour to get a key. 2 lied to us, and the other 2 didn't care.. the liars didn't care either, which is why they lied. When they finally got it, the old lady (made this up, they never did this before, and haven't since), said we have to come back when we're checking out, we can't have the expensive $14 dollar cologne in our cart. I had all kinds of stuff worth far more than $14!! But I can't be trusted with the precious cheapie cologne. We ended up walking out of WalMart and left our buggie in her aisle, after the runaround we got from all the employees. Mind you, I NEVER realized other places were better. When I moved out of the house, I always went to WalMarts, wherever I lived. It was not until last year, I went to Publix and realized they're NOT all like that. Now I always make an effort to go to Publix unless I need the 'other stuff' I can only get at WalMart. Target is a good 30 minute drive from my house.

Chiropractor Question
Daisalana replied to thin2bme's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I use to go to the chiro all the time for my back & hips also. (Scoliosis, and a lopsided hip). I was taking it easy at first (6 weeks no strenuous) so I skipped on the chiro. After 2 months post-op, all my back pains were gone. All the excruciating worth going to the doc for pains, I mean. I still have pain when I sleep, but after I'm up and about, it goes away. -
I don't like low-fat cheese either. There's one brand that has lower calories per ounce than others, it's not diety, just is the way it is. When I get home from work, I'll post the name, I wanna say it's Serggio's or something.

Poor Kat Broken teeth are miserable, I actually have nightmares that I break my teeth. Most of mine are fake by now, I have horrible horrible teeth. I'm trying to be a good bandster.. I ordered a small sirloin tips lunch from Steak Out. 5oz of tips, potato, roll & salad. Going to eat some of the steak & the salad. I am cooking tonight. I've been so backed up this week, and now trying to figure out how I'm going to finish my homework next week when I'll be out of town except for Friday. And when do I get to celebrate V'day?!

Me too, and when I'm driving by myself. DH hates musicals, so I can't ever listen to them around him
