    Where's all the Alabama bandsters?

I had contacted Dr. Adams office when I first was looking into it. April of last year, they were not taking new patients, so I thought it was just a.. he's full kind of thing, but I would think he'd want to do as many surgeries as he could. Welcome to bandland summerset. Check out the 'food' forums, there's plenty of ideas & recipes posted!

    North Alabama (Huntsville) Support Group

Ok.. I just don't know where rooms are, never done meetings around here. I see those couches everytime I go, which is why I thought of it. Any other ideas? I don't particularly like the h'ville library unless it's a last resort. Something about that place gives me an uneasy feeling. I definitely need to be in a local support group, I'm havin issues lately
  3. You're right Pam, I initially was going to go to a psychiatrist about it when I was first banded (the band doc's shrink said they think I needed to) their patient waiting list was 2 months. Within 3 weeks of the appt. they called and had to cancel. So I just didn't reschedule. They're the only ones in the area my insurance pays for. Then I was doing so good, that I decided I didn't need it at the time. I know I do, but I also hate the idea of having to go to a shrink about food!!
  4. To add to this, I am extremely and dangerously complacent. During this journey I got to places where I go.. I'm not losing quick enough, I don't look normal enough yet. Well, now I feel normal. I know I am at least 60lbs overweight, but that's not 150lbs. I lost 92lbs. I am falling into "I could be happy here". I need to get out of this mentality. We went bowling Sat. night.. happening place apparently (I've never gone on a weekend night). There were a LOT of overweight girls all hussied up to find a man in the bar. I saw one girl who looked my build. I have a hard time figuring out how I 'really' look, as I know I have some dysmorphia.. I asked DH if I looked like her. He said "Oh god no, you are WAY smaller than her". I have played this game with him for years, I find someone who I think is fat and I want to know if I look like them or look skinnier. He doesn't lie. I just can't tell. So I was really proud to know I didn't look like her, because she was one of those people who are overweight- but carry it well. She looked sexy. So to know I'm 'WAY smaller than her', just makes me feel good. Anyway, I need to start finding goals that make me want this again. The fact that I don't gain despite my indulgences just makes it worse. But wow, how nice to be in ONEderland. Maybe I need to hype that up for myself??? I was 240lb yesterday.
  5. Wow Tracy, I would have never known you qualified for WLS!! You look not only 'average' but SKINNY!!! Hm.. I must have missed something. The past 2 nights we had REALLY fast winds, but I didn't know there were tornadoes. Must have been somewhere else in Alabama? Ok V's, I am facing a dilemma. It is frustrating, and I go "Damn I wish they were here, they would hold me accountable". Friday night DH said (in bed) "You do realize, you're eating a lot of candy?" and I of course got very defensive. This is why I use to eat in 'hiding' so no one could judge me. We didn't fight about it, but I was emberassed and defensive, and he was just trying to be a good hubby. I am just making bad bad BAD choices lately. I say, tomorrow will be better. But this is where it's so messed up. Yesterday I was eating like some sausage.. which always hurts.. so it hurts, get that stuck feeling, slime a little bit, and my band actually feels like it's in pain. This is where I think "Oh no, please don't be messing up my band.. don't slip, don't stretch", etc. So most the time this is where I stop eating and just wait to feel normal again. Not last night. I ate a snickers bar. On top of the pain. Making more pain, and more slime. I hate myself while I do it, but I don't stop. What am I doing? I feel like I'm trying to screw my band up :tt2: I had heartburn (from having OJ, salsa, and sausage in one day and no prilosec for a week) but I thought.. here it is, heartburn, slipped band.. blah blah.. so I'll just keep cramming food in my piehole. I'm not proud of myself lately, and I am in a rut. I guess all the indulgences from the vacations I've had, put bad habits into my system and some reason I can't kick them back out. Everyone morning I start with good intentions, then I go into the mind-numbing zone where I just want to eat and eat and eat
  6. Uhm.. send the 3 day weekend this way too HAH!
  7. WOO HOO JUDY!! I love the new swimsuit too! Yeah Michelle, when you find the awe inspiring mojo, toss some this way. Tunica trip messed me up, struggled to get back into things, then NY trip. I'm eating candy every day! And I'm still at 241. Least I'm not gaining. I need to get back into LOSS mode.

  11. Scale didn't move. I did a lot of walking.. and a lot of eating. I guess it balanced out, still 241. Time to get back on track! Throwing out all the candy and eatin better!

    Port back to front

Hello! They kept 'filling' me for months, and I never felt a change. They did it under fluero a few times. Finally they saw, the saline was just 'splooshing' into my body. They initially thought I had a leak in the port or tubing, they couldn't tell the problem. So I had another operation to fix leaking...when they got in there, my port had flipped completely backward, so that under the x-ray it looked fine. They flipped it back, and moved it from my stomach to between my breasts (the hard spot). The surgery was not bad at all, just sore. MUCH better than the initial surgery. It has not flipped again since. Good luck, it sucks finding out you have a complication.. but it does pass. A week after the surgery I was back to being excited about the band! Especially since they can fill it now.
  13. Oh (I keep forgetting stuff!!) Suzie thank you for the card, I admit, I debated eating it too  And Judy you pick out the funniest e-cards, thank you!! I didn't even get DH anything for v'day, our flight home was hours late I got in late and we went to dinner with my parents and then we came home with ideas of romantic stuff.. but I was too tired, and passed out lol.
  14. Here's some pics. First, the NSV!!!! Legs crossed COMFORTABLY on the plane.. and I got lots of legs. And the seatbelt is no where near tight. HOORAH. This was me BEFORE I had to bundle up. And then these are taken in Central Park.. And I'm not sure where we were for this one.. The coat is an NSV too. Last time I bought from Burlington Coat Factory (about 6 years ago with parents), they had the patchwork suede coats, and I remember crying because the only thing in my size were ladies coats.. boring black trenches, etc. The day before the trip we went to BCF to find a warm coat. I was looking in plus size. I am 2x in coats I guess, I saw ONE cute coat in 3x.. and ONE cute coat in 1x. The 3x was just way too big. There was nothing in 2x that was trendy at all. I was really getting frustrated. So I decided to try the 1x coat. And Voila. there it is! I'm wearin a 1x coat!!
  15. Morning V's! I'm baaaaaack. I just finished going through all the pages since the WebTV incident. I didn't see the ones before that. YAY Jenn on the job!! Tracy what great pics :crying: Terry feel better!! The Big Apple was fantastic. 2 customers cancelled last minute, which is why I was hoping Jenn would call me. But it sounds like you were busy with more important things  We went to a lot of fancy restaurants, ate a lot of fancy foods, and drank a lot of fancy drinks. I ordered mutton one night. I have a new favorite food. I can't even describe how wonderful it was. And it was like a 1lb piece of meat. Oh dear. I ate about 6 bites of it, and I was hurting, and couldn't control myself, so I gave it to someone else at the table so I wouldn't keep eating it. Went to Chinatown, bought several knock off purses. OMG THE SNOW! I heard it snowed just for us hah hah. Tuesday there was a lot of snow, and I was hyperventalating in the cabs. They drove crazy and they were skidding all over the place. We went to Wicked at the Gershwin on Wed. night. AWESOME STORY!!! Then we went by this huge department store next to Ground Zero called Century 21. They had a whole area of trendy and cheap plus size. I wear a 2x up there.. boo. No one is overweight in NYC. I intentionally looked for it, never saw it. Anyway, they rushed me out of C21 before I was done looking, but I got 3 designer hella cute shirts for $30 total. There was a fancy chocolate shop next to our hotel. We stayed at the Regency (wonderful place) on Park Avenue. So this itty bitty candy shop, in the window is truffles. It was snowing hard, we were next to Central Park. So we said we'd get some truffles to keep us warm (hah hah). We go in, and it's $75/LB. HOLY CRAP. I acted real redneck, I'm goin "75 dollas? FOR CHOCOLATE? PFF" hehe. There was a 6 or 7 year old boy picking out "I want this, and this, and that, and this" and the store people are bagging it for him. Their total is $350 for chocolate. For one boy. And the mom didn't even bat an eye. She just handed them a card and she told him "Now, that's a lot of chocolate junior(whatever his name is)". And we were staring in disbelief. Then she tells us how he loves that store and wants to work there when he grows up. I bet! So that's the short version of the events. One of the sales got a tattoo while we were there (drunken stupor kind of thing). Hilarious. I am so behind on homework, I have till tomorrow to do all work for all classes. I am leaving work early so I can buckle down on it. But I wanted to check in with you guys!
  16. Prime Minister John Howard - Australia Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia , as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks. Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation's mosques. Quote: 'IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Melena(SP?) Band

Just driving me nuts. Watched big medicine and they're talking about doing a conversion from the 'melena band' to RNY. It was 10 years ago, and I've never heard of melena band, but he was talking about how it could have eroded etc.. anyway, I have googled all different spellings and can't find a single thing about it. Anyone know the right spelling or where I can find info on it? I wanted to see how it compares to the lap-band.

    Best NSV yet!

That is awesome!!! Wow if I was in 12's I would be content! I haven't been in 12's since maybe 4th grade, and they didn't have 12's.. i was wearin MEN's pants. WE NEED PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :biggrin2:
  20. My poor dad.. he keeps ordering stuff from random websites. I've told him time and time again, ask me or DH to make sure the place is legit. They were getting me the Dyson Animal vaccuum for my b'day.. and frankly, I'm thrilled. Like I said, my vacuum went out sometime around New Years, then we spent all our xmas money on glasses, so our house looks horrible. If you drag something across the floor, you end up with a nasty hair ball. So it finally came today. Dad ordered it from some warehouse. Suppose to be a brand new Dyson Animal. Instead, it's a refurbished normal Dyson. So we're putting it together, and I'm like.. this is the wrong color, and it says refurbished. So I called my dad, he's all confused because that's not what he ordered. So he told me to pack it back up and he'll send it back. The invoice says Animal.. and it doesn't mention refurbished. This is what happens when you order from bogus websites! And thus, my floors will continue to be nasty :glare: GOOD NEWS. I am back to 241lb. WHEW. I am cooking something for dinner tonight, anyone got a new fun ground beef recipe? I'm bored with the usual.

    Experiencing Hair Loss

They could see if you're deficient in anything that could cause hair loss. But since it's common enough with surgeries (any), I again just say, tough it out :glare: And I am proof it comes back! I didn't cut my hair either, which I heard could help. I am working on growing my hair out long. I wanna be a skinny hippy.
  23. I love it, I want him to come be our president. Can't believe he's a LIBERAL!!
