Ok I found my other blog on accident the other day, and decided to update it. Since I updated it there, I'll copy & paste it here.. that way I look like I blog!! Uhmmmm..yeah did I mention I am the worst blogger in the history of people that attempt to do it? ----------------------------------------- So it's been a long time. In September I had to have revision surgery to fix my port. They thought it was leaking, but it ends up the booger flipped 180 degrees! Go figure for me. However, as soon as they fixed it.. they were able to fill that bad boy up and whamo! I am now 240lbs. That's -93lbs for those of you counting. I'm tight as.. some funny analogy of tight stuff. I rarely eat before 1pm.. and sometimes I'm so tight throughout the whole day that I just nibble or drink liquid meals. I'm still excited about my band. I've got about 60lbs to go. I went from a (bursting out of) size 26/28 & 5xl shirts... to 15/17 pants and 1x shirts. I am tall, so take into consideration I would never be a size 6 even in an anorexic moment. I'll just die of happiness if I reach size 14 pants. Since I forget to blog, the next time I check in will likely be when I'm 14. Who wants to take bets on it? -

Jennifer, i've not heard of that (chocolate to every meal? COUNT ME IN!!!) hahaha. But my best friend who's been dieting a lot, swore by FlaxSeed Oil. She said it tightens the skin, so in theory it would tighten your pannis(sp). She had that oil in all her salads, on chicken, etc. I bought flaxseed oil tablets after banding, but the pills are so big I don't take it. I have seen the flaxseeds in a bag at the store, and I keep saying I'm going to do it. it sounds like from the things you mention, it's getting 'good fats'.. except the chocolate, not sure how that ties in. So maybe I'm wrong! I don't like any nuts, so I am very lackadaisical when it comes to getting them in. Maybe I should try.. God knows I need to get rid of this tummy flap. It's just hanging there like a deflated balloon.. tucked into my undies! Kat- Yup, if the IRS looks into them, I think they will lose everything. DH said he's going to try to make them do the taxes (he's tried for years, I dunno what's different now) I remember a few years ago when we were trying to get financing for his college it was an issue because they hadn't filed taxes in so long and they needed that info for him to qualify for financing. He never got it, due to this..and I had a big tuition bill to pay off before we could get a mortgage for the house!! I am guessing this is why the gma put everything in DH's name, so when they do lose everything, they don't lose all her money too.

Ohh maybe I got those confused. I just hate the idea of yet another surgery.

I need your opinions....get in here! :)

I know it's hard, I vaguely remember when my swelling wore off (about 2 weeks post op). You really need to stick to mushies for the healing, the mac & cheese and beef is not on that list!! When you feel 'OMG I'M HUNGRY', drink a lot. Drink enough water to make you feel sloshy and nauseated. Then you won't want to eat. I do that even to this day, if I drink a lot of water I feel nauseated. Try talking to yourself too, a new trick I've picked up on. Say it out loud.. "I do NOT need XXX" "I will NOT eat this fried food". etc. It's all easier said than done, but right now is when you need to self-discipline the most. You want your band to heal right so you don't risk losing it. -
HAYDEE YOU ARE TOO CUTE!!!! Are you wearing make up? You look so naturally beautiful.

Ohh I see. Well, I have used instant lipton most of my life and I give it 2 thumbs up. IMO (and perhaps this is aquired??) I like the instant much much better than home brewing, or bottled. Same with Crystal Light, I tried their pre-made pink lemonade and it was DISGUSTING. But I've always liked the powder mix. I have not tried the peach, but I can vouch for their normal powder :tongue2: Snapple is good though, I've always liked snapple. Never had diet though.

Don't some people have their gallbladder taken out with the WLS? I admit I haven't paid much attention to this, but it sounds like it's pretty common that they will go hand in hand, and I thought people have mentioned them doing it both at once. My dad had his gallbladder taken out about 10 years ago.. He thought he was having a heart attack!

I've been 240lbs for days now. 240.2lbs exactly.. every day. I guess this is what a slow loser is? It's not 241 anymore, but any number for a while is unusual to me!!! Not upset about it, but curious. Clothes are fitting better, and I can't believe it's from a 1lb difference, so maybe I'm doing weird things too! Kat- I've had that kind of stuff happen, and what I do is at my next appt. I explain to the DOCTOR the problems I've had with their receptionist and how they've talked to me, and politely say I'll be finding a new doctor due to the fact their staff treats me like crap. The doctor 100% of the time had no idea the patients were being treated that way. One time I did go find another doc, the other one he made a point to have the receptionist apologize to me and she didn't seem to work there much longer. I also am now so particular, I won't go to a doc (new doc) that has no one answering the phone. My gyno, if it wasn't so hard to get one around here (they all have speculations you have to meet.. re: having a kid in the next 12 months, or they aren't taking new patients, etc.) anyway, but they don't ever answer the phone. It goes straight to voicemails and you have to wait 24-48 hours for them to call back. I've waited weeks and still nothing, so I have to keep leaving messages. I really don't care for them there. The doctor is awesome, but her staff is SUCKY. I have to bring that up to her next time I have to go in. How are you today Terry??

Terry you're in my thoughts & prayers, I know it's a rough time *HUGS*

How interesting! I have pains under my right breast occasionally too, but mine have to do with my breathing. Once I thought I had a lung tumor due to the sharp pain of breathing in.. 2nd time was about a week ago, after I ate a HIGH FAT and lot of it, meal. I thought for a moment it was a heart attack. Then I remembered it's the left side.. but then I've heard it can be the right side.. blah blah, rambling thoughts in my head. It passed, I was fine. But I am curious what it might be. It's so infrequent, but when I have them it's a sharp stabbing pain when I breathe in. I read about Pleurisy (because Wheet, your medical diagnosis is much better than the last time I sat at the ER to find out if I had a blood clot in my lungs.. which in retrospect, I think was actually when my port flipped..and they sent me home and said take advil heh). Doesn't sound like it either. If it ever persists for more than 15 minutes I'll get it checked out. Doesn't sound like mine is gallbladder either!

I think you would find more information under the Lap-Band Complications area, there are people who have been re-banded that have posted there.

That is true.. and I only go once a week (if that) and it seems it ALWAYS hits me Wed. at work.. when I am not going to be home till 10PM after bowling. BAH. I dunno bout you guys but I have a phobia of public poo's and I've never done it (and never will) Took me months to get comfortable doing it when DH was HOME.. when we first moved in together, I had to convince him to run to the gas station for something, or go hang out with our neighbors. --------- Just something random. I changed my signature to some Beatles lyrics. I am quite in love with their music, in case I never mentioned it. Anyway, Across The Universe was awesome, and I loved their version of Dear Prudence. IRONICALLY, as I listened to it, I thought "That would be a different name for a kid".. and in that same moment my mom goes "pretty song, but what an ugly name" lololol [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IMk8GIOQHvY]YouTube - Across The Universe - Dear Prudence[/ame] Listen to the ATU Version if you never heard it, is beautiful. Actually on that note, if you haven't seen the movie, I highly recommend it. I've watched it 3x now in the past couple weeks. I love how they adapted Beatles songs to mean something the writer's decided it could mean. I gotta quit editing this post.. teehee. How To Find A Doctor To Do Fills On Outside Patients
Daisalana replied to kirajh's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
This is an extremely daunting task, my band doc is 3 hours away one-way, there's about 10 closer band docs, and not a single one of them would work on anyone else's patient for fills. I did finally find 2 in Nashville, TN that take other patients. Dr. Houston (which I heard good things), and then some other doctor in his building that I was told is a jackass. Good luck!! -
Your necklace made me think of it.. Cherry Poppins!

I carry benadryl around as a back up for DH in case he has a reaction. I take it personally when my eyes are itchy from (i assume) my cats. It works wonders for me. I also met someone at a sushi bar once, who took 2 benadryl before eating lobster at the sushi place. She said she's deathly allergic, but loves it lol. She didn't show any signs of a reaction while we were there.

Yay some trees I ordered last year are finally shipping (they wait till the warmer months). I'm getting a peegee hydrangea tree and a weeping pussy willow. They ship about 4ft tall, which is pretty good IMO. I'm excited, I'll be doing gardening in the next week!! We don't have any trees yet, we are waiting till the Spring to sod our backyard (stupid us thought we could seed it and grow grass.. NOT) and then I'll put some bigger trees back there.

I have always called the ladies my personal flotation devices LOL. I can't sink, even if I want to. I've tried to float to the bottom of the pool.. won't happen. It's a fight to stay down, I bounce right up!!

Yeah our in-laws just expect so much. But me and my brother talked about this in the past, our significant others, they know how much money our family has and subsequently their parents find out. Due to this, I think they take advantage and think now they they're with us, they don't ever have to help their kids anymore. And it really fumes us both. My sister doesn't care. The irony is, we aren't rich, our parents are. And we're blessed, if we have a situation come up (re: lap band), they can help us out. If we need help with a mortgage payment they loan it to us. I am in debt of about $800 to my parents at the moment, I make monthly payments to them. We're not rich, we don't take hand outs. So when his family thinks I can foot the bill for them, they are sorely mistaken. Me and DH live paycheck to paycheck like everyone else!!!! And of course, I can't confront them and say "Hey quit bein cheap, my parents help as they can but they're not footing the bill". Today is looking better, been talking to customers that are happy.. nice to hear!

My port was about an inch above my belly button, with 1 major incision. From the weight loss, my incision is a lot higher than my belly button now.. Then port flipped.. and now I have another incision, right between my breasts which is where my port is now.

Foggy head- clouded thougths after surgery?
Daisalana replied to tinaf's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
coffee could definitely be your change, if you were a big coffee drinker. I think I was a bit lethargic for a longer period of time, but I took the pain meds after the fact due to pulling muscles. My doc said no coffee or tea, cause it can dehydrate you. Initially I stuck to it, but I gave up my 6-12 cans of Mt. Dew daily.. and a month or so post-op I started drinking coffee just to get a caffein boost.. and I drink tea regularly now. I think it affects everyone different, but that stuff doesn't bother me. -
Something is up with tickers, same stuff was happening to me (except the freezing up) they just flickered and disappeared, thought it was just me, so I changed my ticker pic.. then I realized it's all over. Tickerfactory must be havin issues today.. it happens! Edit: After typing out my rant I felt better, so no need to air dirty laundry

I won't let you drown. AND at some point I was a certified life guard. Imagine that? I never actually did it, my mom made all us kids do it when we were younger because they have always had a pool and if we wanted friends over, it was the stipulation. But really, it's like drowing in your bathtub for tubing (everyone I've ever been anyway). You'd have to lay down and then weight yourself on your back to make you stay under!!
