HAPPY FRIDAY MY VIOLETS!!!! MAKE IT A GOOD ONE. Now here's some fun thoughts for the day. 1. The best way to get even is to forget... 2. Feed your faith and your doubts will starve to death... 3. God wants spiritual fruit, not religious nuts... 4. Some folks wear their halos much too tight... 5. Some marriages are made in heaven, but they ALL have to be maintained on earth... 6. Unless you can create the WHOLE universe in 5 days, Then perhaps giving "advice" to God, isn't such a good idea! 7. Sorrow looks back, worry looks around, and faith looks up.. 8. Standing in the middle of the road is dangerous; You will get knocked down by the traffic from both ways. 9. Words are windows to the heart. 10. A skeptic is a person who, when he sees the handwriting on the wall, claims it's a forgery. 11. It isn't difficult to make a mountain out of a molehill, just add a little dirt. 12. A successful marriage isn't finding the right person - it's being the right person. 13. The mighty oak tree was once a little nut that held its ground. 14. Too many people offer God prayers, with claw marks all over them. 15. The tongue must be heavy indeed, because so few people can hold it. 16. To forgive is to set the prisoner free, and then discover the prisoner was you. 17. You have to wonder about humans, they think God is dead and Elvis is alive! 18. It's all right to sit on your pity pot every now and again. Just be sure to flush when you are done. 19. You'll notice that a turtle only makes progress when it sticks out its neck... 20. If the grass is greener on the other side of the fence, you can bet the Water bill is higher. Disclaimer: Some of it is funny and some is religious. I know we're not all religious, so just take it for what you want.. there's 20 things there, pick the ones you like :tt2:

Grr!! I called the plaintiff's attorney on this summons today, she couldn't find the paper work.. so she asked for some info, and I said.. I'm not giving you my info, here's my phone #, call me when you find the paper work. So I called the courthouse about it, and they said they can't do anything. I have to file an official response, and let the 'judge decide' (PFF), or the attorney has to drop the complaint. I'm not payin to have an official response served, I did that when I had to sue someone for vandalizing my car, it costs about $60. And I'm not giving them my personal info, so they're not gonna tag this on me. Sounds like a real good attorney this lady got. ---- Kat I thought of you this morning, our local radio show was talking about stolen identity and some woman in Nashville whose paperwork says she's dead. She tried to correct it a while ago, and when she went to get her tax refund this year, they said she's dead again. WHAT A HEADACHE!!! And they're saying she won't get that rebate now either, etc. I couldn't imagine.

1 week till the wedding Tracy?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?! 238lb last night. WOOT. Ok I'll stop my moaning. ((HUGS)) for Terry. Have fun Judy! I wanna cruise!

Tracy.. guess you're sad to see him go? This is the first episode I watched this season, and I only watched last season before. So I know James & Amanda, but the rest are new to me. And there's sooo many people right now, I don't know how you keep up with them all. Time to go check if TiVo tells me who is goin home on AI!
-
Wow Judy that IS an NSV!! GRATS!! Just popped in real quick to tell ya'll (I'm cookin dinner)... remember a few months ago my sister said some sheriff came looking for me? Today I got a notice that I have a registered letter from "Small Claims" under my maiden name. Curiosity killed me, so we went immediately and picked it up. Ends up, someone is suing someone with my name (different middle name though). So their Private Investigator dropped the ball, he just decided I was the same person based off of my name. Johnson. How many johnsons do you think there are around here? What a moron. So I called the attorneys office, told the lady the issue, she hangs up on me, when I call back it goes to the "We're closed" crap. Real winners there. I found his e-mail online, explained they have the wrong person and I'm not going to officially respond to the letter since it's not me.. good luck!

From what I've heard, people with a 10cc band can take a little bit longer to fill up. With only 1.8cc, you just need to get more fills. Don't panic You have a long way to fill that thing up. If you only have a few things get stuck, maybe you're eating too quick or not chewing enough.

Well darn I feel left out now!

The other squash thread made me think to post this. I came up with this, it's nothing special. But I bring it to work for lunch occasionally and everyone who tries it is in love with it and wants the recipe! 1 fresh summer squash. I have not peeled it in the past, but the next time I try it- I plan to. It does hurt going down for me, and I think it may be the tough skin. Cut into thin round slices, heat a skillet with a little bit of EVOO and a little bit of real butter (not margerine).. I don't have an exact measurement, I just put a dab of each. When skill it hot, and everything is melted, add a tsp of minced garlic (I use it from a jar), then immediately add the squash. Sautee till nice and softened, and then I like to leave it a little longer, till the squash gets black spots. I put it in a small tubberware, and about 3 pieces fills me up. It reheats, refridges, reheats, etc. very well.

Not a problem.

DO SHARE!! Don't tease like that. I love love love squash soups (and summer/butternut/zuccini squash), I have only ever bought them, never tried to make one from scratch.

I agree with Pam, I never buy expensive jewelry online without checking it out. But for Zales, I find out what's going on at the store online, then go to their store in person to check it out. And sometimes they really deceive you in the pic of the item!!! ---- I guess I'm completely oblivious here, or you guys did it on a time when I wasn't online for a few days and missed posts.. I had no idea. I just now noticed it on Terry's tag, and now I see it in yours.

HoW Do I Put A Pic Up Under My Name Not In A Post?
Daisalana replied to Amanda Sizemore's topic in Website Assistance & Suggestions
If you mean like this <------------ Go to 'edit profile' on the right side of your screen, then on the left side options, select 'edit avatar'. You can upload your own picture if it is 50 pixels x 50 pixels. Or select one of their pics. Or use the html of an already uploaded pic that is 50x50. -
Hah hah I didn't know Pam was either. Where was I during all this?

My husband's exact words are "I dunno.. I think you can do it on your own". Really, they haven't been in your shoes. My situation, I've been fat my whole life and I've tried dieting in my teens and even if I lost, I always gained it back + some more. But I was doing it whether he liked it or not, and luckily I just had to tell him "Well, you're wrong". I was finally in the mentality, with or without support it needed to be done. I was going down a very dangerous road.

This is really a hard one to answer, and I am positive it varies from person to person. I am very tight in the mornings, and some days I can go all afternoon before wanting to eat. Then someone at work makes something that smells good and INSTANTLY my stomach starts rumbling! I keep good Snacks in my drawers for those times, 100 calorie packs, a bag of roasted edamame, can of pineapple, etc. Other days for whatever reason I am super hungry in the morning and get a small carton of milk or chocolate milk from the vending machine.. it ties me over till dinner... and before 6pm, anytime I am hungry it is legitimate hunger. After 6pm, I have cravings and head hunger until I go to sleep. On a good day, I say NO and drink a lot of Water. On a bad day, I'll nibble on things throughout the evening. In the evening I have the hardest time deciding if I am truly hungry or not. Sometimes I don't care, I want to eat regardless. Sometimes I can reason with myself to wait till dinner is finished.. don't snack! Etc.

Wait a minute.. Terry when did you become a board moderator?!?!?!?!?!? :confused2:

Spaghetti Squash Pesto Casserole
Daisalana replied to georgia girl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Mmmm this sounds really good. I am going to try it with summer squash since I don't know what spaghetti squash is. Have you tried dicing onions into it or garlic? -
Bluenile is a money pit, when I was looking at jewelry there, they don't sell anything under $1,000 that I saw!! For jewelry online, I've looked at Zales (They have sales sometimes), and QVC. I bought DH a gold chain necklace a couple years ago for his b'day. I don't know how thick the cm's mean. But it was $300 (on sale, and after haggling!!) from some local jeweler. As for your spicy meat.. make a faux Shepherd's pie. Layer the (cooked) meat on the bottom of a baking dish, put (cooked or thawed) broccoli on top of that, (optional) add cheese on top of that-or on top of the potatoes.. then put made mashed potatoes on top of the broccoli. Bake for 20-30 minutes.

I can taste the Saline after my fill
Daisalana replied to Tralynn222's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
All my fills for months were going into my body (not in the band), and I never tasted it. I think I know what you mean though, when I had IV's and they put saline in, I can taste the saline. It's in the blood. I would think the minute amount put into your body for fills-even if they injected directly into a vein, would not be enough for you to ever taste it. Maybe it's a mind game? Your body thinks you should taste it and you do? -
Share ideas, What did you eat today ?

I've been a naughty bandster lately! 2 day ago: -Starbucks Frappuccino for b'fast -about 4 bites of Chili-5-Way from Steak N Shake & 1/2 chocolate milkshake for lunch -Leftover 1/2 taquito and 2 tbsp of spanish rice for dinner Snack- 4oz OJ & about 6 tostitoes with salsa Yesterday -No b'fast -1 sicilian quesadilla triangle from tgif's & about 1oz of steak for lunch -1 small chicken tenderloin and 1/4c of fried okra from crackerbarrel for dinner Snack- 2 bites of cola cake from CB  Funny how this is me being 'bad', but doesn't even make a dent on my pre-band days. Feels good to type it out and see it :tongue2: Today -about 6 pieces of edamame for b'fast -no lunch -having 2oz duck breast & asparagus for dinner -
Not to be off topic, but I had to laugh... Rose (my gran) lost her husband when he left her for Ginger. They were all born in the 40's, so very fitting. :biggrin2:

Mississippi Republican presents bill to make it illegal to feed obese people
Daisalana replied to NukeChik's topic in Rants & Raves
This is pretty local for me, as shocked as I was to first hear it, it ends up he was just trying to prove a point (which evades me now). He had no intentions of it actually passing (no kiddin?). Just a slap in the face along with everything else. Society has no tolerance for teh fat. -
Cool just wanted to say, the 2nd thoughts are normal. They will likely double after your surgery, before you get adequate restriction. But anywhere from 2-6 months post-op when your fills are kicking in, 92% chance you'll be pretty darn happy. This forum is key for me in success. Anytime I feel like I'm doing things wrong, or am just down right discouraged, there's people here to support you.
