I had bad pains and ended up at the ER early on thinking I had a blood clot. It's only speculation, coulda been the port. I also still have the sharp pains when I inhale every once in a while in the left side, and I assume its tubing hitting a nerve.. since I can feel every inch of my port now, I know it's not flipped.

I'm going to see Horton Hear's a Who. My friend I caught up with last week (so excited), he called and asked if I wanted to go see it tonight! And, we talked about it at dinner and he said he doesn't like kids movies, so I thought that was really sweet he's willing to go see it with me. DH won't!!! Yeah, big jerk face hahaha. One of my exes emailed me tonight, haven't talked to him in years.. wanted to show off his 2 year old daughter. And man, she is CUTE. Really cute. I'm torn, I have had 400 calories today with b'fast, lunch, dinner. Going for a GREAT day, now I have to decide.. a martini, popcorn, candy? Nothing? Waaah. I must pick something low cal, which is none of the above.. maybe I'll bring my own snack. Where's the fun in that though?

I guess I haven't had to take meds that require you to eat with them since banding.. I have some steroids I'm suppose to take, and they have goofy directions. Yesterday I was to take 2 tablets 'after' supper. That's really hard for me, drinking after eating hurts and causes spitting up. So I suffered through spitting up dissolved meds, ick. Today's directions say take one 'before' breakfast. Take one 'after' lunch and 'after' supper. Now why would it be so specific?? Anyone know if it really matters? I've decided to avoid the issues and taking them all 'before' I eat. But I've never seen something say take one specifically before and one specifically after different meals. :confused2:

I just had the weirdest thing happen with a customer. And I mean weird. Normally, I mean, in general, it's 100% business. They want the best deal, they fight and moan and try to BS us to get better pricing. They want it free, really. So I have this new account, HUGE HUGE.. possibly going to be my biggest account, they bought out huge former clients of ours. I'm trying to start off really well with them. I call and talk to him about cutting deals, etc. Well I quoted something wrong to him, I gave it to him significantly cheaper than I should (I quoted the wrong item). Since it's the first job, I signed off on it, we'll take the loss in anticipation of lots of jobs from him. Well today he re-quoted the same thing at a huge quantity, and it ended up being more expensive to do the huge quantity than the current quantity (doh, I didn't notice this). So I just told him, I quoted the wrong item originally, but I wasn't going to change the price on him after he put the job in here. He writes back.............wait for it............ And tells me to charge the higher price. .... ... .. Whaaa? Never in the history of workin here, have I had a customer that would ever say such a thing.

Tracy if needed, call us and let us talk to him, let him see we're not crazy. Just don't put Judy on the phone mwhahah! YAY YOU'RE COMING!! Jenn I'm so sorry, I don't have any good words of wisdom either Sounds like you need to relocate. You know, cost of living in the south is 1/3 what it is up north (at least) and pay is the same. My bestfriend moved to South Carolina from NYC once she finally believed me. I told her for years they need to move, sure enough, she went from renting an overpriced apt, to owning their own house.. and her husband's job is the exact same! Hang in there girl! You can only get so low, before things HAVE to go up!

My doc said staples at our first meeting, but I voiced opposition that I'd have to go all the way back down there (3 hour each way) to have them removed. He said depends on how big I am or something, so he said if he doesn't have to use staples, he won't.. I came out with surgical glue & steristrips.. dissolvable stitches on the inside. One did not hold up well, and has turned into an outside scar (bulges a little), but it's tiny.

Hah. GUESS WHAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! DH has been promised a raise for almost 2 years.. HE FINALLY GOT IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! He is now salary (YAY!!!!!) and his salary is almost double what he was getting hourly. HUGE raise. They felt bad for forgetting to give him a raise in 2 years.. and I guess their ears were burning since I said nice things about him today. Hah. I'm very excited. And I know he's going to be feeling better now, since I make quite a bit more than him.. the gap is closing in! --- And.. sometimes I wish we could make this thread private, but.. whatever.

I haven't been back since December. I think they'd like me to, but since I'm way out of town I fall out of their radar. If I was local, they like a 1 month follow-up until you're at goal. Until I finally got restriction, I was going back every month anyway.. I sent them my labwork Monday from a local clinic, so if something is up they'll let me know.. otherwise I'm not planning to go back until they call me and insist, or I need an adjustment. And OP it's good to be informed! When I went into this, I educated myself on possible complications.. but I did not read the complications area here. I knew it would freak me out. I'm glad I didn't, because now when I read them I feel like a hypochondriac (You did what? It slipped? I feel that sometimes! Oh no!!). Of course, I did have a complication and the moment they told me I needed another operation, I started crying on the x-ray table. It was the end of the world to me.. I felt like this too was not going to work for me. Ended up being a simple procedure to fix a flipped port, and since that day it's worked wonders on me.. -100lbs(ish). The best way to look at it, is.. are the complications worth the surgery? If you had a complications, would it be worth it to you. The scars on the stomach really are minor, and I never even worried about that. Like someone said, I don't show my belly to anyone anyway.

Ultimately, you need to get to your doc and do a barium swallow just in case. In the best case scenerio, due to upset stomach irritation, or stress-- both can cause tightness-- you're just tight and need some unfill. Either way, get to a doc.

EEEEK. Don't eat & drive! Even if you think it's a safe food.

Glad you're past the snafu. Yes, snafus do happen, but it's how you deal with it that matter! Sounds like you did your part, and now you're up and running well

Not everyone reacts this way, but for me personally, alcohol makes me tight. Some people says it loosens them, but alcohol must irritate my stomach, so if I drink some, it's really REALLY hard for me to eat anything afterward. I can't be an anomoly, so maybe that affects you the same way! Also, I like hot dogs but something about the processed meat gets stuck in me (rubbery I guess).. There is these bagged of frozen, pre-cooked Brats & Italian Sausages I now use instead of hot dogs. They go down MUCH easier than hot dogs, and the brats are pretty much like big hot dogs, but not rubbery. More sausagey.

I'm the same way, I don't eat diet.. I don't eat enough for it to matter. With the exception of junk food, which I do try to avoid. But if I'm getting a salad, I get normal dressing.. butters & garlic on veggies. When I mention taking off the bun or tortilla wrap, it's not for low-carb purposes.. I just can't eat the bread, hurts too much.

Mine is the same everytime, but one time, my sister weighed herself.. She's a little bigger than me, but only because of height (she's shorter). She got on the scale and it said like 180, and I said no friggin way and she's all dancing around the room. She gets back on and it's 220lb (which was right). I still don't know what caused it that day, I wonder if a cat toy got under it or something. Stupid scales, they really do suck when it's not encouraging. Mine has been my best friend for months, and the past 2 weeks I really resent it. My scale is always 2lb higher than my doc's scale.

Yeah, that was my point earlier. I should say more nice things about DH because I paint him to be horrible most of the time. I forgot how painful periods were for me. My lower back is KILLING ME!!! It's like a permanent charlie horse across my entire lower back. Last night it was doing this too and tylenol didn't help at all.

In case anyone is wondering about O'Charleys (hehehehe)... their black & bleu salad is to die for. I'm not a big salad person, it goes in spurts and sometimes I crave it, but I don't eat it regularly, kind of a rough item for me. But the black & bleu.. I crave it lots. It's 1,000 calories for the whole thing, but it lasts me 3 days and by day 3 it's gooey and I throw out quite a bit.

Well I was just thinking, heart to heart while naked normally does the job!

At Chili's.. I like the mushroom swiss burger, off the bun. Their fajitas (not in a tortilla) are pretty good too. Depends on the time of day, sometimes just a bowl of the broccoli cheese soup.. num.

Oh wow, can I borrow your DH? Hah hah. My DH has become part of my family, more than I ever thought he would. He acts like my parents are his parents, invites them to do things with us, etc. I don't reciprocate that at all.. so I'm very appreciative that he loves my family!!
