I was out of control when the band broke up until a couple weeks ago. I kept putting off getting back in the game. It's so much easier to just eat n eat, and I had no motivation to not. I did the liquid diet for about 5 days then slowly transitioned into food. It has made the world of difference, I have had no trouble reigning in the food, I am back in control. Hope you guys can find your mojo again, it took me a damn YEAR!!! The scale is rewarding me, thank goodness. We've had 60 degree weather for 2 days now, it's so confusing. And my constant allergies I've had since pregnant, are 100x worse when they dust the fields--which they did yesterday. Nose is bright red and raw, and I can't stop sniffing and sneezing. We bought a freezer for the garage--YAY! I've been needing that for a long time, our freezer is way too small and too full. Went to Sears, the employees were such shits, it'll be a long time before I go back there.. I guess that's it, just spent 3 hours trying to get a tired baby to go to sleep.. took both of us laying in bed holding him while he squirmed and shrieked.. but finally.. Carson and Russell are asleep. We saved $80 grocery shopping last night.. we've become coupon cutters.. who knew all these savings were out there!

I wanna see Shutter Island, Crazies, and Valentine's Day... but Sat. night is date night, and it's just so cold I'd rather stay at home. Our theater is like a mile walk outside to get to it from parking lot. BRRR. We did it a couple times in Jan, and it was miserable, and now it's a lot colder. Makes a wind tunnel between all the buildings too. Getting miserable just thinkin' about it. Hope these movies come out quickly heh heh! Mom said go Sunday morning before we pick him up, but that would require waking up early on the only day I get to sleep in...nah!

Piehole report... B'fast- Yoplait yogurt & chocolate milk Lunch- Taquitos, chips & dip, side salad Snack- granola bar Dinner (to make up for lunch): Tempeh and butternut squash soup Snack for later...I'm going to have a 100 calorie pack. I am on a roll, I've stayed under my calorie goal since I started back to it almost 2 weeks ago! I'm not denying myself (as you can see), I'm just evening things out and paying attention. I can do this. Also, I posted a hilarious video of Carson doing baby bowling at work today on FB. If you don't have FB let me know and I'll e-mail it.

I know, Veggietales been around a long time, *I* liked them as a kid!!! I found all the old Silly Songs--that I use to sing with, and he likes dancing to the videos. I'm going to look up recipes closer to time, just trying to decide if I need to buy a big cake pan (I haven't found one yet when googling), but I thought about using the roasting pan. Re: Fat Tuesday---I knew it sounded familiar. Now I remember the baby in the cake in French class. I was gonna say, I'm Fat Mon-Sun...
-
Ok what is Fat Tuesday? I thought someone made that up, but since you guys said it too?!?! I actually want a denser cake, that's next on my list is finding out how to make a denser cake (so far I saw adding sour cream helps this, not sure what portion though.) I'm just getting a head start on his 1st b'day party lol. I am making Veggietale cakes (he loooove Veggietales).. 1 cucumber larry for everyone, then a small 6" bob for his cake. The larry is the big one I need, I'm going to cut a cucumber out of an extra large rectangle cake.. and the denser the better. The doming.. I get that in any cake I make, I normally just slice it off. This is what I HOPE it comes out looking like heh..

Anyone know, can you bake a cake in a roasting pan? I can't figure out why not, but wanted to see if anyone knows for sure. I need to make an extra tall cake, and want the dimensions of the roasting pan (with 2x boxes of mix in it). Any thoughts??

Liquid diet went well, I migrated into food, but I am keeping religious track of food on myplate and staying under 2k calories a day and back to losing. Just need to keep up the momentum. As for Ayla's teeth, from everything I looked up and heard, babies vary SO much on teeth. A friend of mine, her baby had almost all of his teeth by 1 year, and then I read some babies have 1... or even NONE by 1st birthday. Carson cut his bottom 2 around Sept-Oct.. And then Jan. 1 he cut one top tooth, and he just cut his 2nd top tooth this past week. He has been chewing on his hand a lot (in the back of his mouth), so I wonder if he's cutting more in the back. He won't let me get in there to look, so it'll just be a surprise! His top 2 teeth have a big space between them and one is angled. My mom said as he gets more it pushes them together, but I had braces for 5 years, and had a huge gap in the front with both top teeth pointing away from each other (permanent teeth).. so I won't be surprised if he has to have braces one day! Jane let us know how the doc goes, I hope he helps!! YAY MO for the poopie!! I hate days like today in my job, we had a 10k job, that is 3 days late--not our fault, due to snow, we had to send it to Memphis for binding, and they had a lot of snow and blah blah. So we got 20 samples today because our customer HAS to have 20 for a meeting tomorrow morning. I am looking at my sample, it's trimmed WRONG!! This is an expensive job to have trim lines on it.. wtf?! And production's answer is... 'let's see if they notice'. SIGH. That is not the answer, and that's a great way for me not to get any more work from this customer. What can I do??

LOL JUDY!!!! We put the poison control number in both our cell phones, and I gave the magnet to my mom.. she said "Hopefully it won't be on my watch".. but in this pamphlet they give you it said one of the top risks for babies is poisoning at the granparents' house. You're a statistic!! Glad it was ok though! I meant to say that too Michelle, the hat was cute!!

We had a couple inches of snow last night. So bizarre. Went into work late after it all melted. They say we may get more tonight. What is this crap!!! Just had a sandwich-ready tuna salad (in a foil packet) by Starkist.. wasn't bad, and it was 100 calories for the whole pack. I still like homemade version better, I add more relish. We applied for Individual Blue from BCBS to be covered outside of a company policy. They automatically denied me because I am 10lb too heavy. How funny is that, if I keep up with this dieting I will lose that 10lb within a month. They said I can re-apply then. But by then we have to make a decision. Life can be so..funny. Russ is like, well if you keep eating well AND work out, you could do it in a couple weeks! Yeah.. and if I was 5'4 I'd be short! Hope you all had a good Valentine's Day. Carson is soooooooo whiney the past week. Whines non-stop, I don't know what he wants and nothing seems to do it. He cut all 4 major teeth now, so... what is the deal?? He's going to be walking any day now, he pulls up on everything, and lets go every time. Speaking of the whiney-butt, gotta go!!

Holy crap, 1/12 of the recipe is about 500 calories. 1/12?! Can it be divided between 12 normal folks?? Sopapilla Cheesecake Pie | LIVESTRONG.COM 161 calories in 1/8th of this recipe. Someone try this healthier version and let me know if it compares hehe. http://www.livestrong.com/thedailyplate/nutrition-calories/food/generic/sopapilla-cheesecake_23240/

LOL MICHELLE!!! I love how you said that... how does it get cold??? I spewed my water  I have been trying to pretend not to see the sopapilla talk. LA LA LA LA. I made brownies for our v'day dinner tonight. I don't love brownies, so I can stop at just one. Sopapilla on the other hand... hey, I think I have ingredient to make sopapilla!! UH OH. The shooting, they said it was during a faculty meeting, over tenure.. was one of the bio professors who is known nationally for her.. whatever-ness (crazy?!).. and she graduated from harvard. I now see why they didn't give her tenure, she obviously isn't right in the head. Russ said he is feeling more and more Carson HAS to go to private school. I just wonder if that'll even help!!
-
We had that middle school shooting last friday, and a college shooting this Friday. What the hell is wrong with people??? So far they said 3 are dead, 1 critical, 10 en route to hospital.. all faculty, and they said it's another faculty member that did it.

Love the new pic Judy. Made me laugh, because the other day this is what I changed my phone background to:

I got back on myplate. Sunday I had 4500 calories (don't ask, and I won't tell! This has been my eating pattern for a while, which causes me no gain or loss).. in comparison Monday I had 1400, and yesterday I had 1200. Going in the right direction at least. I'm starting to realize I have maybe too much restriction, even liquids are getting hung up. So I think I've been just forcing stuff in there and it sat around a while, thus a possible stretching out. Hopefully I can handle this on my own! As far as limiting my diet, I have been putting it off for months, no motivation, and Sunday I decided I would 'set a date'.. then I did myplate to start tracking, I was horrified, and somehow it ended up starting Monday just out of disgust with myself. So far it's been unusually easy. Waiting for the ball to drop. We have so many temptations in the house, and I've even LOOKED at them, and nothing does it for me right now. Somehow I got into the mode of nothing tastes as good as being skinny feels!! I don't know where that came from  We're freezing here, in the 20's.. had snow/sleet on Monday, ice yesterday, and snowflakes today (not sticking yet), and I heard Thurs night/Fri suppose to have bad snow storms. Huh. Someone come talk to me about global warming, we never have snow, and suddenly we're a semi-northern state here!!!

So our insurance goes up to 1k a month March 1, so I've desperately tried to find a better company rate. Nothing that saves enough to swap. Now I am looking into coverage outside of the company for us as a family. We can't afford 1k a month, I'm so stressing. BCBS offers Individual plans outside of companies, and our quote is $457 a month for our family... the big catch, they have to approve you-health wise. And for the first year they don't cover anything major basically. No babies for a year :cursing: Fingers crossed we get approved, she said it takes 2-3 weeks to process, I really really need to know before March 1!!!! I think the lap-band might screw us up. But I marked on the application that if either adult isn't elligible, to give me rates for just Carson. Then we could go to Individuals at work (like $300 per person + Carson on his own). Still cheaper than 1k a month!

Funny way to look at it, but yes, glad I am fat so I met you guys LOL!!! Day 1 of liquids went well. Judy, I don't have that test anymore, and not really going off of that. I PB a lot and I KNOW I have good restriction, but I keep shoveling it in. Trying to eat like I use to. And it's getting easier and easier, so I figure I am at risk of stretching it. So I figured I'd go a week on liquids, to potentially shrink it down and more-so get my head back in the game. After a week of liquids, it's easier to make good choices for me!! And this info came late in the game, but Carson's godmother's gf is an x-ray tech. She said she can give me free x-rays!!! They won't be read by a doc, but if I'm paranoid (like now), it's local and free, so I know if I need to trek down there for a real one.

Poor Mo... I know it's hard to decide what's best.. He's a cutie!

my band has a LEAK and has to be replaced... anyone else??
Daisalana replied to youknowit's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Gosh it's been a while, my update to update to update.. HEH! My tube broke while I was pregnant. I had to pay (out of pocket) about $10k to get a new band put in. Well actually, I had to buy the whole band (you can't buy pieces) and they replaced the tubing & port. Allergan is currently entertaining reimbursement. My doc kept the tubing to show it was defective (it actually just snapped in half). I'll let ya know what ever happens. And my band is not covered by insurance.. Oh man and as for weight gain... pregnancy + Broken Band = bad. I lost 120lbs the first year, gained 60lb while pregnant, and since my band has been fixed (Oct. '09) I haven't gained or lost a single pound. -
Starting a liquid diet today, in case I stretched somethin out. Going to try to go till V'day. Nope, we came in to work today. Here's some vids from Friday and today. He likes visiting all the girls at work. And he's learned to pull to a stand in his little gate area..

For the hairball remedy, we put it on their paws so they clean it off. I don't think cats like the taste of anything they HAVE to have lol. But they sure don't discriminate anything in the trash can.

Wait what, I'm suppose to drive to Alpena? LOL! We have a couple inches of snow on the roads today and I had to clench my hands the whole ride here. I don't do cold stuff.. this snow is new to Alabama, and I'm not digging it, and this is when it's not even freezing outside. I don't even wanna know what freezing weather + snow + driving equals. Can't stop sneezing this morning. Carson is watching Veggietales and clapping. It's so cute.
