I hate protein shakes too. And, I hated milk pre-banding. Now I love it, and I'm not alone!! Get the IDS New Whey Protein test tube bullet things. 42g of protein in 3oz, shoot 1/2 at a time (like you would alcohol) and chase with water or whatever drink you like.

I just used that because I vaguely remember a friend in high school who would lecture me on using BC-- even though I was a virgin, because it's not natural or something.. she told me about her religion.. so long ago, and I was only mildly interested, so I didn't quite retain her religion or argument.. just the jest.

Haha. Too funny Terry! Well, I think at 24 I still saw both sides. I remember Microfish (but I thought it was spelled like that!), and using them. I remember card catalogues in the library.. and I absolutely hated looking for a book. I remember our TV was black & white and only had 4 channels until I was 7. I taped things off the radio all the time, the most memorable was Rage Against the Machine when I was 13. My parents wouldn't buy me blank tapes, so I would take their bought tapes and learned to put clear tape over the holes on the bottom so I could over-write it.. ho hum. I had pen pals, I wrote lots of letters to family members that don't live here. ..Just sayin!

Kind of true, I was thinking of birth control vs. religion. Isn't it Catholic that do not believe in forms of birth control? It's a medical intervention, but what if a woman needs it (I do) to regulate hormones & periods. I would become anemic if I didn't use them. So if I was Catholic, does that mean I couldn't use them? That's something I always wondered about. And what about abortions? This does not reflect my personal ideals, but what if they said.. if you stay pregnant, the baby will kill you.. do to irregular circumstances. And let's say your religion considers abortion murder. What do you do in those situations? Much more extreme than the ones posted (well, not considering they did die from this), but something to think about none the less.

I started my never-ending TOM a couple weeks pre-op. I didn't get to use a tampon, they just told me not to worry about it and I woke up with a pad taped to me (a monster pad) and lots of towels under me. Not a biggie. GOOD LUCK!!!! I was only scared right before surgery, but they give you the dope-you-up meds to make you loopy and then it's over before you know it (literally!).

Wow you guys have fun smelling plants. The closest plan that makes any sort of smell is about 10 miles down the road, a Meow Mix plant.. makes cat food. That stuff does NOT smell right. Ever put your head in a bag of cat food? Imagine that times a million with a few extra intoxicating smells.. I'll trade you for a donut factory. They do smell good.

Hah Kat, I didn't know what you were talking about, I thought you really had 40 spiders on your foot.. I literally would have died from a heart attack or shock. I don't ever do anything for April Fool's, I can't keep a straight face!

When I was in middle school, my mom would freeze a bottled drink, and I'd take it to school and it would defrost throughout the day.. so it was like liquid with ice in it. That an option? Freeze it overnight, leave it out in the morning so by time you drink it, it's slushy?

I liked dunkin donuts, I can't remember the last time I had a donut, way before pre-op just because I don't know where one is around here. Krispy Kreme is pretty funky IMO, they taste like lard coating.

Gah I have horrible heart burn today. I had 2 chicken strips and a couple waffle fries and about 1/4c of lemonade.. lemonade is the devil, I swear.

I know people who take their kids to holistic doctors. Why is that any different? I don't think any of it is right, I'm just saying, it's not isolated to churchy folks.

Just another tidbit, you said you buy the junk food without thinking.. anytime you go shopping, take a family member to make you accountable. Tell them you're going junk free 'this trip', then the next. I did really well for a while, then got junk food crazy for a minute in time and I ate it all. Boo, so back to no junk.. I don't have self control!!! And I don't like diety sugar-free crap. It's not for everyone (like me!). But I do find good snacks that are low-cal like the 90-100 calorie packs.. no weird sweeteners, just small yummy portions (Sandies shortbread cookes & the one with choco chips).. and Quaker Oatmeal bites, and the new Cinnamon Streusel packs.. all 90 calories. And do you live with someone? Room mate, spouse, etc? If so, have them hide your snacks. I'm not above that myself, DH didn't want to give up cokes completely and I WILL drink them if they're in our house.. so he hides them. Have them hide your 90-100c snacks, and only get you ONE bag when you ask for it, so you can't gourge. Just some ideas, I hope you figure out what works for you!! Everyone is different.
