I win....Stupidest Question of All Time!
Daisalana replied to HarleyGirl's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Not a stupid question, but it is a hard one to answer for you. -
 One of my co-workers had ovarian cancer last year, so they took out all her lady stuff and she did chemo for a long time. She's finally gotten back to normal (re: hair mostly) she had long beautiful hair and was so upset about losing it all, and then she wore scarves and was sickly all the time. Her hair's growing back, she's strong and back at it. Yesterday at her routine testing, they discovered the cancer is now in 4 lymph nodes. She's going to have another operation to remove all of her lymph nodes in the area (kidney area I think she said), which I didn't even realize you had lymph nodes down there.. and now another round of chemo. So sad, for her to get it within a year of chemo and previous surgery I worry what this means. Keep her in your prayers if you're a praying V.

I heard she wore a 'girdle' I guess the spanx is what they were talking about, one week, and it made it hard to sing. But in all the weeks, I've never thought she was overweight. But last night, she looked really big. It's the skinny jeans, seriously. You have to be literally anorexic to wear them, and even then they don't look good. She's a beautiful girl though, and I think if she keeps wearing skirts/dresses or pants that aren't made to accentuate the size of your legs, she'll be fine.. I just think it's good Simon said it, I was thinking it, and it was so distracting I don't even remember what she sang.. but I remember she wore red skinny jeans and a black satin smock. hehe.

Are you counting anything? I'm not sure what the rolls are, but were they fried or served with a sweet sauce? if so, that could be high calorie/carb.. but if you're not counting anything, shrug. Sounds like you're getting enough Protein though, that's good!! And your Snacks were not out of line, re: ice cream, Cookies, etc.

Hah, I won't say where I fall in line there  But since Terry asked last night, I figured I'd put that out there for anyone looking to revamp or remember the 'rules'. ----- SHRINKIN V'S WITH SIGGIES!!!! Just wanted to make sure, did everyone convert them to their own host? I was going to delete them out of my album today, but wanted to make sure I'm not still the only host for anyone (I.E. upload to your own photobucket or similar account). Let me know if I need to hold onto anyone's for a while longer. They won't be gone forever regardless, I kept copies in a folder on my computer in case they ever disappear. And if anyone else wants one, let me know! If you don't want to use your pic, I can just put something else there )

Before and After Lap Band Surgery - PICTURES ONLY
Daisalana replied to DeLarla's topic in Weight Loss Surgery Success Stories
I got this picture yesterday from my g'ma, and I couldn't believe it!! I forget how big I was, I didn't keep many pics of myself, so when other people show them to me I'm amazed. And I find it weird, even my teeth look different to me!! (2-3 years pre-op) Now.. -
You're not alone, many of us have had this happen. They discovered mine 5 months post-op, and it was an easy surgery for me. The original surgery had me out for a while, it was worse than I had expected. 2nd Surgery to move my port was an outpatient surgery, I was just super tired from the anesthesia, but in minimal pain. Just felt like I had worked out and the muscles were sore. Good luck.. and after they fixed the port, they were able to fill me and the pounds melted off!

This goes back to where I think Simon does a great job. He said it last night-- he is saying what we're thinking. Me & mom watched AI together, and when Carly was singing, we said "oh my god, look at her hips!!" she looked FAT.. I've never thought she looked fat till last night. We were going on and on about how 'skinny jeans' do NO ONE justice. And then Simon commented on her wardrobe. GOOD! They need to know what they need to do to improve. Appearance is important.
-
Congratulations!! I'm glad it's working for you, and sorry the band didn't work out!
-
I was not impressed last night!!!!!! The last guy, the UK one, he was 'alright', but none of them made me get excited, or 'beg to hear more'. Blah. Dolly Parton night.

I made up my own drink, my dad loves it, whenever we have a get together he makes me make it.. A whole quart of chocolate chip ice cream, 1/2 bottle of butter schnapps, 1/4 bottle of bailey's, and 1/4 bottle of vodka.. blend it all in the blender. Makes a darn good milkshake! I actually love martini's now.. but when I looked at calories in vodka, I've been trying to stay away. I assume all alcohol is high calorie? I mean 1oz is like 200 calories.. 1 martini.. and they don't last that long!! I don't think I've had the floating bailey's, or if I did, I didn't notice.. I shoot them so I don't look into it. I do like goldschlagger though if I'm looking to get drunk!.. mmm mmm.. I like the gold flakes, it makes me drunk uber quick, and it doesn't burn like most alcohol does for me.

I packed a crap load of stuff, from meds, clothes, to games, books, etc. And all I did when I came out of it, I needed a pad, my underwear, and I was good to go. I never got anything else out of my bag, the virginia tech shootings happened that day so I was transfixed on the tv. I was there approx. 36 hours.. Pulled on a summer dress and flip flops on the way out the door.
-
Yeah, they're douchebags and shouldn't be teachers.. just my thoughts.
-
Yeah, I wanted to re-itterate it's NOT an actual camel toe, it LOOKS like a massive one.. but like Lauren said if you get pants that 'fit' and get rid of said camel toe, in my case, they would fall right off of me.

hahahahahahaha that is hilarious!

Morning!! Our bowling team is 1st place, and tonight is our last night. If we win 1 game, it's over. If we lose all 4 and the 2nd place teams wins all 4, we tie for 1st. The kicker? We turned DH's car into the body shop on monday, and our bowling balls are in his car! DARN!!!! So he's calling them to find out if we can come pick it up (we better, we can't not bowl tonight!!!) Janie- Weigh yourself on May 1 and turn that in )
-
Hah, I know me & Kat get there early at IAH. I don't care who it is that picks us up, as long as we aren't stuck there. Airport restaurants & bars are NOT CHEAP!! Teehee. Buttery nipples are good, when we entertain customers that's generally what I get. Last time at a mexican restaurant, our waiter did not speak good english and I didn't know the translation for buttery or nipple. I kept saying "Buttery nipple", and I think he understood what I said, but thought I was mis-speaking.. so he had me write it down on his pad hah.

Uhm.. sounds like you're eating fine Terri, was that dinner? Or snack? Hehe. For dinner, that sounds right to me!! Bit of a big snack though if it was a snack. But hour and fifteen minutes.. if I was eating that long, I'd have eaten QUITE A BIT more.. so I guess it doesn't matter. I normally take 20 minutes to eat my meal, and I eat about 2-4oz total--I don't measure, I wait till the band tells me to stop, which is always after a small portion. Don't ask me about lately, I'm in dire need of fill. The 'rule of thumb' from the literature they gave me is 4oz of meat (size of a deck of cards) and.. honestly I forgot the rest, the deck of cards just stood out to me since I like poker!!
-
Preening is like when you are proud of yourself..imagine a little kid all proud of doing something, hard to explain.--To take pride or satisfaction in (oneself); gloat. Where are you Denise?!?!
-
OMG TRACY!!! No we do not!! rofl. I know couples like that, where I could swear they are bro & sis and I can't believe you just said that!! It's just the glasses  I am a swede, blonde hair blue eyes, I'm tall and ROBUST hehe.. He's average & muscular, black hair, brown eyes. Pff. Just glasses.

Daisalana replied to taylormomto6's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I had 2 consultation appt's with 2 different doctors when I was looking around. Both charged a fee, one was $250 and it was 10 minutes with a nurse who took down my history that I already wrote down for them on their forms (I did not use this doctor), the other was $150, and it included going over the surgery options, insurance info, and an H. Pylori test. -
DO NOT FORGET.. change of underwear.

Should never settle, especially if it's just because you feel you should be in a relationship. Let it happen when it happens!
