I actually had port pain a lot during sex when it was in my abdomen, I had a hard time bending in general without pain though. Now that it's under my breast, I feel it, but it's only hurt once.. and that hurt was bad, I still don't know what I did. Maybe pulled a stitch out, during the motions, I felt this sharp stabbing feeling and then it would come back in waves for 5 minutes. If I scrunch up, it bothers me too.. kind of the downer of the band, I hate feeling the port during sex.. especially since now I have hurt myself badly once, so I am paranoid!!

Does anyone else get UTI's when they have sex?
Daisalana replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
Vegwannabe touched on my concern, anything I've ever heard is that if you don't need antibiotics, don't take it. Your body becomes immune to them overtime, which means they throw your personal immune system off balance. I'm not quite sure what prolonged time on antibiotics would accomplish.. -
pregnant and constantly vomiting
Daisalana replied to samirazar's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
Since you're in the home stretch, I would get an unfill so you can make sure to be feeding the baby right now. Get it re-filled after you deliver. -
how do you handle the fatigue?

Hehehehehehehe this cracked me up. -
Morning V's!! ((HAYDEE!!!)) Again, call me if you want to talk!! You're going to be fine, you're an amazing person. Glad Susanne is back Pam!! You guys "catching up?" nudge nudge, wink wink. Sounds like you do need a fill Michelle.. a whole sammich?!?! And Terry, I'm a fan of Monty Python, I love the coconuts they use for the horse noise! My favorite scene is passing the knight, when he has no arms, legs, etc. Have fun on your cruise Judy!! Last night I made porcupine meatballs, something my mom use to make a lot when I was a kid and I hated them. I couldn't figure out what to do with ground beef, so I found a different recipe than hers. It turned out good! Also made a zucchini/squash/balsamic salad. Yum.. and DH who doesn't like squash-es liked it! Then I had a bizarre dream that I had a baby, but I didn't see it for months. I didn't really care that I had it, so when I finally went to see (HIM), he had 2 heads!!! LOL And I had no diapers, clothes, or food. He was just out of luck cause I kept leaving him on the couch. Anywho..

Kat, my opinion is go to your doc!! I haven't personally heard of antibiotics causing your stomach to bleed, but I do know of a BAND complication that causes bleeding! Ya know? Better to be safe than sorry, so that's my vote.

Wowser on the elliptical, I still can't go past 5 minutes without thinking I'm going to die!!! Patience.. Seems like forever away now, but pretty soon when you're good and filled, things will be right with the world ;o) I couldn't get a fill for 6 months, I had a couple months of absolutly no weight change, 1 month of gaining a couple pounds.. and I still lost 100lbs in the first 12 months!!

The band is not good do not do it! PLEASE! save your self the money!
Daisalana replied to snoho's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I just don't like the way you phrased it. The band is NOT for everyone. But hopefully anyone looking to get the band takes this thread with a grain of salt. Instead of saying "DON'T DO IT SAVE YOUR MONEY", the correct way to phrase it is, "Research it, make sure it's something you want to do". Make sure it is right for you. For every negative story there's at least a 100 good ones around here. I for one-love my band. -
Pregnancy Opinions
Daisalana replied to Crystalclear224's topic in Pregnancy with Weight Loss Surgery
I started my WLS at 333lb, on a tall 6'0 frame. I was way too overweight to be having a kid, that's one reason I wanted to drop the weight. I am not planning to wait to 'goal', but I would not think 320lb would be a good weight to start having kids. Not that it couldn't go fine, but since you HAVE the band and you're losing weight, I think it would be better till you waited a little longer. Just my opinion ) I know when I was 320lb I would have probably had gestational diabetes at the least. -
That's a hard spot for him to put you in Haydee!! Ask him if he'd rather marry you and be with you, or not marry you and lose you!! I debated that too, Russell didn't like the whole marriage idea. He kept saying it was just a piece of paper. I guess I eventually changed his mind, because he didn't act dismissive when we got married! I think it was all just an excuse, really. Whatever you decide to do, we support you, and I'm here for ya  I have about 5 customers, that I hear every day "They aren't worth it". They literally cause us to spend hours tracking info, double checking etc, because we want to make sure we DIDN'T do anything wrong.. but it ends up they are just always out to scam us. 5 of mine, ALWAYS are looking for a reason for us to charge less, refund them something, ship for free (overnight-usually). I won't be straight out rude to them, but they're on my list of.. they can argue all they want, I'm not doing anything, if they leave..good riddens. This one today the production manager said "Tell her.. go to google.com and look up dvd printers.. and go there" hehe. 1 of my 5 called before I went to lunch, asking pricing on something. I gave him the pricing (excellent pricing, none of our competetors can match it).. and he goes "You need to cut me a break blah blah" and I go through the whole "This is our pricing, this is it.. we can't negotiate it". And he's hmm'ing and sighing for a good 3 minutes.. I'm staring at my clock.. so I finally go "So.. is that it?" and he goes "So you won't give me a better price? My customer is getting it for the same price." Now what this means is, they are mostly brokers, they take our price, mark it up on someone else. He is saying his customer.. is OUR customer.. and he wants US to cut our price.. so he can sell it for more profit to.. another customer of ours, that would have paid the right price. Derrrrrrr.

My fills never went in, so about 6 months post-op they decided either my port had flipped, or there was a hole in the tube, or the tube detached from the port. They said they wouldn't know till they got in there, from watching fluero, you couldn't tell where it came from, but the fills would just go 'sploosh' into my abdomen. Anyway, in September 07 they went in, it ended up my port had flipped completely backward, so they moved it. The surgery was a million times easier, I was just barely sore. I was ready to go after that!! It sucks knowing you have to get a fix, I was the first one something like this had happened to his patients, but just know it's not the end of the world and you'll get through it

Does anyone else get UTI's when they have sex?
Daisalana replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
That sounds like vaginitis (is that right?) where you take Flagyl, and you also have to get your spouse to take it? Me and DH went through this once, we never took the meds, I think the doc was a quack. -
Lucky Judy & her cruises!!! I am dealing with another crazy customer. She was a customer before I started working here, and she was such a PITA they got rid of her. She had credit terms, and somehow every single job she found a reason she didn't want to pay half of her bill. So they got rid of her. She came back a few months ago, they warned me about her. She wanted credit, we said no. So she prepays, all is right with the world. Her first job since being back, she's telling us we short shipped half the job. Thanks to MY DH we have scales in the back that weigh product AMOUNT, not just weight. If you put 154 sleeves on it, it will say "154 sleeves shipped". Ta-da. Solves problems like these. So we showed her the tickets that show we shipped actually MORE than she paid for.. she comes up with some story why we should still eat the cost, since she doesn't know what happened, and we could have 'made up' the numbers on our scales.. Mmhm. When that argument failed, she comes back with "Well I wasn't going to say anything, but it's out of register, so you should redo it ALL at YOUR COST" (she used caps and all!!) I just went through samples, they are not out of register, she's just oddly enough trying to find a way to get half the job free. People are fun. I guess I like the drama like this, keeps me chit chatting with coworkers throughout the day "Can you believe this customer..." And in situations like this, we did absolutely nothing wrong, we offered her a discounted solution which wasn't good enough.. she wants us to pay her to be our customer!

Ask your doctor before doing it, but you can buy "Pure Vitamin E" cream from anywhere really (any store that sells cosmetics.. like walgreens, walmart, etc).. whenever I have a wound, that stuff is like miracle for getting your skin to heal. But make sure your doctor says it's ok to put it in there!

Would you get breast implant.....??

Wow, so what is this magic fruit I need to eat? :smile2: -
I have drastically slowed down, but not stalling in my weightloss, and I guess since I am well over halfway there.. a lot of friends & family have been asking me lately "So when you get to goal, then what? Take it out?/Unfill it? Will you keep losing?" etc. I'm extremely open about the surgery and don't mind answering questions, but this has been the hardest one to answer. Ok, most of us realize the calorie in vs. calorie ratio out.. how as you get closer to goal, it's harder to lose due to the calorie out going way down and blah blah. Yeah, this is what I try to explain to them.. and I get the glazed over look. Then a week later they ask me the top questions.. hoping maybe this time I'll give an answer in English. Since no one cares (stupid skinny people!) how calorie in vs. calorie out work, they don't get why the band is not going to be taken out or unfilled. Is there an easy answer? If I just say "no, they leave it", they get worried and say "Won't you keep losing?" and saying "no" isn't good enough, but the actual reason is beyond them. Help! What's a good easy explination?

Does anyone else get UTI's when they have sex?
Daisalana replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
What she said. I don't know if my UTI's (which were frequent years ago) were sex related, I think my doctor indicated it was. I blamed dirty husband fingers (that's important, make him wash his hands!!), and sex in general with all the bacteria moving from the outside to inside. If you are using sugar-substances for anything fun down there, don't. That also causes yeast infections/UTI's. Never go from the pooper to the pink! Make sure any toys are sterilized between each use. Those are some sex reasons I've heard UTI's happen. -
I can't really give good advice, but I just wanted to say I too notice a difference in how my band works. I'm tighter than I was at my 'sweet spot' which mysteriously disappeared at -100lbs exactly.. but I can eat more than I use to. I heard it's normal for your pouch to stretch some as you go, since it starts out a brand new pouch, and you're eating. I was losing fast without thinking about it, now I've definitely slowed down, but I bounce the same couple pounds and slowly (like every couple weeks) introduce a new 'low' number. Plateaus are normal, but maybe you've finally hit a spot where you do need to be eating less calories. When I get frustrated I do it for a few days just to see where I could have cut back.. So I would suggest trying a calorie tracking website just for a week and see what calories you're averaging, then try deducting some for a week and see what happens. Good luck & good job thus far :smile2:)

The old cardboard tampax applicators were ridiculous. The tampon would get stuck, they were rough and akward. Their new 'pearl' design is nice though, never had problems with them.

Does anyone else get UTI's when they have sex?
Daisalana replied to Oregondaisy's topic in The Gals' Room
I was told (and I think it helps) to urinate right BEFORE as well as right after the sex. Try doing both & see if that helps. Although you may not be able to pee a whole lot right after sex since you went before, I am always able to do a little bit. -
Not to hi-jack the thread, but does anyone here know how to read the 'irregularities'?? Mine isn't quite like what I'm hearing here.. I was put on B/C from a young age to regulate my periods, and the few times I had gone off (like for surgery) it still happens (10 years later!). I have a super heavy crazy period for 1-3 months straight, not a single break. Then I have no period for 1-3 months. Repeat. Knowing what menstruating is, I can't figure out what this would actually mean my body is doing?? I don't understand why/how I could be flushing lining for 3 months straight. When would I actually be ovulating?
