  1. My mom's butt tattoo lol -
  2. Hey V's! Pam, I read that somewhere (someone on LBT posted it somewhere at somepoint?!) and I reflected on it, and I don't feel like it applies to me. Or if it does I am in complete denial. I sabotage myself all the time, and I can't help it.. especially when I'm doing good. But I would friggin LOVE to be at goal weight. I just want to eat too.. I feel like my issue is, I just love food. But maybe on some level I am hiding feelings, who knows.. but I'm way off from figuring that out because as far as I know I just like to eat. Book it Judy, make it official!!! :whatchutalkingabout Well, we had a problem with our rooms in Tunica this weekend, they are booked on suites (and we get suites so my sister can hang out). So it became this big drama, my dad goes "Let me throw out a radical suggestion.. lets just go to Vegas for the weekend!" Now, as much as I love Vegas, all I hear is "FLY! CRASH AND BURN!" luckily, mom talked him out of it. We're still rethinking Tunica, or we'll go next weekend. They're having some promotional weekend this one and it's going to be hella crowded. Oh did I mention I just got back from taking my mom to get..a TATTOO!? She is so anti-tattoos, but for their 30th anniversary (next week) she decided to do it.. or mention it anyway.. then me and sister jumped on her, practically tied her up and took her. She got an Auburn (football) colored tank on her BUTT, that has Wall-E eyes. I'll post a pic later.. she actually almost fainted halfway through, I was a little surprised.. I heard about that, but never saw it happen. My dad's nickname is Tank. The tattooist said "You're the first woman I've ever put a tank on their ass" lol. Piehole report: Late Lunch- 4 french fries from Red Robin, 1 bite of a burger that got stuck and came up, 1/2 of an orange dream smoothie (doh) Late Dinner: Tilapia & shrimp...covered in an Alfredo sauce that I didn't like, so I tried to scrape off as much as I could Right now- My homemade high-cal hot chocolate (grr). I need to go get the mix. I do make it with skim milk, so maybe that helps a little? Good news? Still 215lb!

    Sauerkraut anyone?

I like saurkraut, and have eaten it since banding with no problems. I've eaten it with sausage before tho and the sausage got stuck.

    Unfill and good news!

Just some info, I was watching fox news this morning and they were talking about Pregorexia (Pregnant Anorexia) stemmed from Starlets who are obsessed with their body. They did throw some interesting info out there though.. An "Average" weight person should healthily gain 25-35lbs during pregnancy. If you are underweight-you should gain more. If you are overweight-you should gain less. They also said it's dangerous to try to 'diet' during this time, anything you neglect to give your baby while it is growing (Calcium for example) it will steal it from your body.
  5. Not jealous, but I am bitter about diets. My husband is only person who comes to my mind right now, it ends up none of my friends are overweight (how did that happen, I'm in the 2nd most obese state in the country??). He has gained 60lbs since I met him, and when I was looking into getting banded he kept saying he supported me, but thought I could do it on my own. It just takes willpower. So instead of a battle, I just said.. Well, I can't do it on my own because I DON'T have willpower. He never dieted before. A couple months ago he's getting self-conscious of his gained weight and said he wants to do Atkins and wanted me to tell him how. I told him the basics, and he said that sounds easy enough. I felt bitter in my mind, like.. yeah that's right, I hope it sucks for you, so you see it's not 'as easy as that' to diet. Like I had to validate why I got the band in this moment. It ended up happening, he went off the diet temporarily then kept prolonging starting it again, and I have a bad habit of making sure he realizes the error of his ways. I keep making off handed (sarcastic) comments about "But all it takes is willpower." And I guess one of my best friends from high school, we reconnected recently. She was one of those girls, when we were younger and went to the mall.. she'd shop in all those stores that had nothing I could wear.. I'd watch her try on bikinis, etc.. and she'd make comments about 'how fat' she is, in her size 4. I would always roll my eyes and point to my gut.. anyway, when we reconnected, she has gained a LOT of weight. She's like a size 22 now. I can't say I'm happy she gained weight, in fact I feel a little bad knowing that when she was a size 4 she complained about being fat.. but I feel like maybe she understands how I felt. It's weird that I am actually smaller than her. Ok I rambled more than I meant to, but I was trying to think if I feel the jealous thing.. not so much jealous, but I have bitterness.
  6. Gruene actually makes me more comfortable, I know I have to fly, but I remember how much it costs (so no surprises) and I get direct flights to & from..and the flights were only like 2 hours? Don't be a party pooper Pam!! TOOBIN IS FUN. When I went down river backwards and busted my ass (which lasted a good month or so after the trip), I still can't wait to do it again!! If Kat can do it, you can do it. And if Jane says she's actually going to attempt it again, NO ONE has an excuse not to do it.. Judy..Pam Tracy put on your mommy pants for the trip!
  7. Oh yeah, my confessions. I need to keep being accountable, it helped me out.. I slacked and yesterday..wow. I was losing again and then yesterday I pigged out.. Lunch I had 1/2 bowl of french onion soup... but then dinner, I made cheeseburger casserole (since Russell is back to low-carb) and I didn't like it.. it was beef, onion, cheese, and bacon.. I wanted to make creamed spinach or peas with it.. but Russell hates peas & spinach.. and I'm tired of green beans.. I hate eating low-carb, wish he'd just do low-calorie!! So.. hour later, I ate some ChickinNaBiskit (crackers I can't spell), an individual size bag of Funyuns, same with Cheetos.. then I had a bunch of whip cream.. and I like a hot chocolate every night (110c per serving) but I'm out of mix, so I looked up a recipe online and it's 300 calories!! Jeez.. it was good, but I'd prefer my normal mix.. so there's that, then some more whip cream with it. I ate another Funyun bag. Last night I felt like I was starving all night, I can only think to blame it on the fact I didn't eat a good meal with solids since I didn't like the casserole thing. I think I ate some other things in between, I was grazing all of last night. I'm afraid to weigh myself for a while. I need to get back on track!!!! Today so far, just water!

    Whats That Book?

Much like their name ^ the only band book I bought was Lap-Band for Life by Dr. Ortiz. Some people don't like it, but I did. I thought it had some good info, and I was able to read it in one day. I think I ended up giving it to another bandster..
  9. This mean you'd join us again on the tubes Janie??? I wouldn't mind SA/Gruene again

Hey everybody! Fellow Alabamian here :)

When I was looking for a doc, I only found Dr. Fuccundus in the area and when I went to his office I was really turned off by them. On another thread someone was saying Dr. Malipur didn't believe in the band and didn't do bands, I'm not sure when he changed his mind- he said he does bands. When he met me in the ER he was asking who my fill doctor was, how much they charge, etc.. he wanted me to come to him, but I get my fills free so I wasn't swapping. I want to find out about your support group, I'd like to go to one but didn't know there were any around here (except Fuccundus' group, and I'm not going to anything associated with his group). Oh and I was banded 4/16/07.. Love it!
  11. I don't mind helping at all! Aren't ragdolls the best?! I have a blue bi-color boy, who is my BIG boy.. he's so soft and cuddly. My other one is 1/2 ragdoll, 1/2 (Siamese I think), we got her from a ragdoll rescue. She is short hair but she looks like a seal lynx. My first ragdoll was a seal lynx mitted, she was beautiful, I miss her! If yours just turned 1, you still have a lot of growing to do on them. My first one, didn't finish changing color & size till about 4 years old. Between 2-4 she doubled in size, grew a big lion looking mane, and turned a pale chocolate color.Anyway hehehe.. I have several co-workers and friends that live in Decatur.

What support group do you go to? I didn't know there was one anywhere around here for banders.

  12. School is fantastic.. I'm finally done FOREVER!! Yay :o)

And I ended up passing that one class that I had issues with. With a B! I was shocked. How are things in GA?

  13. Thanks for the kind words, looks like you're doing great already, just remember when you get to a plateau-- it will pass! Keep on rockin' it!

  15. Late June works for me.. I don't think I'll be going if it's somewhere out west, I really can't muster the courage to fly that far by myself. I'll just keep an ear out for what the plan turns into! Going to go read Tracy's e-mail. Denise, I saw you invited me to plaxo, I actually have an account through work, I don't know how to send invites, so I'm going to PM you my work e-mail so you can send me a friend invite.
  16. You look great, you're doing awesome with the band. Keep kickin butt! :o)

Hey everybody! Fellow Alabamian here :)

Welcome Juliana! I am in Huntsville (Madison), AL.. and was banded by Dr. Freeman in Anniston, AL. Dr. Mailapur is actually the doc the ER called once when I was there for something non-band related, but they wanted a band doctor there to supervise. He seems nice! Congrats on your success )
  18. SO- Significant Others I have gone to DC, I don't remember when we went, but make sure you allow plenty of time for the Smithsonian!! We only did 1 day and I think it would take a full week to go through it all.
  19. My whole life is "Before" pics, I could go on forever.... Size 26/28 (Preop) & 22/24 (3 months post-op July 07)... Size 14 (July 08)
  20. Hah glad this was bumped yet again, I got my update on it! At size 18 I was able to easily cross left leg over right no matter what chair I was in. At size 14 I can cross either leg, anywhere.. even sittin on the edge of a counter, etc. Wooflippinhoo!!
  21. Not that I have been looking at websites (hehehe) but they said everyone's hormones show up differently, and some people can have a false negative up to a week after 1st day of missed period. And some people can be read as early as 7 days after ovulation (if you had the perfect timing, this would be about 2 weeks before period.)
  22. Well I lost lots of weight and having lots of sex.. We started trying only in July, so 1 failed attempt so far lol. I'm trying not to obsess about it, I am giving it a year before I go to the doctor for tests. Due to a pelvic kidney they wanted to do tests last year to make sure my tubes function right and whatever.. but I bailed on it, figured I'd try au natural first.
  23. Congratulations and welcome aboard!
  24. ((TracyKS)) hope everything works out!!
  25. "Inclusive" is a weird term. Our Jamaica trip was "all inclusive" but we still spent $800 on things at the resort
