    My progress

  2. Well, here goes...Some pics taken at morning of surgery and now 8 weeks post op.
  3. I eat about the same as you also. Breakfast 6 days is an Optifast, Sunday brekky is scrambled egg and mushrooms. lunch is like 1 crusket or sandwich thin with avo, cottage cheese, deli meat and dinner is always like a cup of Protein ir; fish, meat with a mouthful of vegs. This is all I can do with sometimes a babybel as a snack or a babychino as I can't do a bigger coffee yet. For dinner in Saturday which is family takeaway night I had a mini classic pita (not meal) from nando's. My husband had one also ontop of his maccas meal and gulped it in one mouthful and can't believe that I am full from this and maybe a little too much..haha.. I had some pics taken this morning at 8 weeks post op and actually wearing a dress for first time in years. Can't remember last time I wore one so I have decided I will upload later the day of surgery to now as I am so not one for pics but time to step out of my comfort zone. I have found this the case with my work too, I was promoted to principal investigator at work for a six month period, starting today and was told by my boss they have seen a huge transformation in my confidence and belief in myself since op and time for me to again get out of my comfort zone.. Scary
  4. I have not had KFC which used to be my favourite and have also not had Maccas but once a week I have a mini chicken pita from Nandos for a cost of $4.50 and once weekly I also have one sushi. The pita from nandos is dinner tonight. Honestly have no interest in KFC anymore thank god cause I loved it... Went for a 1.5hr walk tonight, so love getting out of the house and going to go and bye a pushy to start bike riding and get back into my horse riding so can't wait.. You will overcome the thoughts of food when you can eat food again, the Fluid and purée stage was a little tough but manageable and all be over soon...
  5. That's great Scotty. Best of luck
  6. I think is a wonderful idea and count me in.
  7. Gosh, this whole group on this thread just amaze me what beautiful people you all are. I'm so glad I found this site and have met such kind hearted souls and we get to experience this fantastic journey together. Lila, you will look back in a year and this will just be a distant memory but your experience will be valuable to future Sleevers. I know it's tough now as you only want to go home and be with your family and start your new life but you will be back before you know it. So glad you are trying to remain positive throughout this. Good luck Karaygh for tomorrow. Keep us updated as soon as you can. Love it with the prize home cleaning for the ex mil. What a laugh.
  8. So so true and she wonders why she has no energy
  9. This was my reason of choosing the sleeve. It was a no brainer...

    Looking For Fun In Btisbane?

Haha - I was going to redirect you to place a personal ad in the local paper or join RSVP
  11. I did my measurements - 7 weeks post op on the weekend which I was excited about. Waist -12cms Thigh -8cms Arm -5cms Bust -12cm calf -5cm even my head circumference is down 2cms weird I know, but I read this will be the case and that a lot even go down shoe sizes .... who would have thought hey !!
  12. I can totally understand why you would be very nervous about your op tomorrow especially after hearing about the very unfortunate complications with Lila. But honestly it is very rare and I agree with Cookeeez that the hundreds of successful ops needs to be your focus. I personally do not want to even think about weight gain as this to me is a whole lifestyle change and you may only gain weight back if you allow this. We have been given a great tool to change our life and i have heard from a few that are 4 yrs out that drop in to provide an update sometimes that they are still very happy and have maintained their weight. I don't know if there is many past 5 yrs or so but don't know how long they have been doing this procedure. I really don't think from my experience only that you can not get enough Vitamins in as personally I can get all food in, just very small amounts but definitely have no concerns of lack of vits & mins. You have come this far and you have to remain positive and feel in your heart of hearts this will help your health for you and your family. Prayers are with you
  13. Oh Puppyphat, so much fun- I'm sure you will have a ball, isn't it great to start participating in life's activities
  14. Oh Lila, I am so sorry to hear what you are going through. You really never hear about the complications and I'm so very sad it happened to you and at a time of being self pay. I am glad your feeling abit better and trying to remain positive, I think that is all you can do to get your health back for you and your family. We have been worried about you and your experience has brought tears to my eyes. My thoughts are with you Lila and best of luck tomorrow with the leak test
  15. I agree, one night does not sound like much. I personally would be asking for at least another. I was in Friday for op and home Sunday and that was just enough but I had no issues/pain at all.
  16. Wow, isn't it weird how every surgeon is different. I have no restrictions and from 4 weeks have been able to eat anything. So thankful that I have no interest in junk food anymore so just eat good quality food now and finally off the cokes which I could never break the habit no matter how hard I tried. No more soft drinks for this girl ever again
  17. No I never had any lollies but everyone is different. During my OF I had 2 shakes and 1 meal of chicken /fish and steam vegs every night but I did break it on a couple of occasions on first week I was on fluids and purée food for first two weeks, then moved to soft foods for next 2 then week 4 I could eat anything. I can remember leading up to week 2 post op and couldn't wait to start on scrambled eggs and salmon which was so yummy especially after Soups, yoghurts for 2 weeks.
  18. Pre op sorry about hated optifast
  19. It's funny that post op couldn't wait to end Optifast and now I actually enjoy it each morning. I tried a friends celebrity slim which I found so sweet and couldn't get through that as well. Had a great lunch today which will get me through daily for the next week. Helgas sandwich thins with avocado, cottage cheese, baby spinach, tomato and cold fat free chicken meat. It was so delicious. Also saving heaps of money as used to buy coffee and lunch every day at work now probably do 1 babychino a week and don't need to buy lunches anymore so great to see a bit more money and can put towards some clothes that I am now in desperate need of as just too baggy. Great idea about strapless bra as so difficult to shower and feel decent when you have a drip. I was so out of it after surgery and was so worried the next day to see the mess from not being able to change myself but that first shower was fantastic I was also allowed ice chips and could drink fluids I think pretty much same night as op. I went into theatre at 2.30 and woke in recovery at 5.30, then straight back to my room Hope you all had a great week.
  20. That's what my problem is, I have to learn to eat slowly as before I know it, I'm bursting full Best of luck for tomorrow Susie. Our thoughts are with you. Looking forward to hearing from you as soon as your feeling better
  21. Aussiegirl - you so deserve to be having a blast tripping around the USA, I envy you so much and you inspire me to what's ahead of us all in life and not held back by the dreaded weight. I really think that will be on my bucket list to start some travels with the family. So excited and thankful that I made this decision to get the sleeve as can feel my life changing for the best each day I never thought about the staples and honestly thought they must dissolve or something over time...dah !! Have a great day everyone.
