I'm scheduled for August 14th. I can't believe the day is almost here. I'm so super excited but getting increasingly more nervous as the day gets closer.
I'm scheduled for surgery on August 14th and wanted to know if anyone has good through the insurance approval process and the surgery and afterwards had a problem with the insurance backing out and being stuck with a huge bill? I have United Healthcare and I'm terrified they will do that when it's too late to go back.
Any insight would be appreciated!
I would hope that this wouldn't happen, but I'd like to consider the risk before it's too late. It sounds like you get a letter of approval, not just word of mouth? Did the letter come to you or your surgeon/doctor's office? I would assume that as long as I get something in writing saying they will pay, that should be good.
Hi Everyone!
I'm a 24 year old female in Maryland and I'm scheduled to have surgery on August 14th. I have been on course to have the sleeve gastrectomy, however, have recently started considering having the band done instead. I'm very excited, but also super nervous as my surgery date gets closer and closer. I'm joining in hopes of finding a source for real life do's/don'ts/regrets/sucesses (apart from those that the medical community wants you to hear). I'm hoping to make some great friends along the way as it's still a relatively new area for me and journeys are always best when you have experienced people right next to you along the way.
