If You Had The Choice - Would You Do It Again?
laurar1husband replied to Babysteppin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Almost 4 wks. Everyone says it will get better, but even at your best your life revolves around food, reading labels n praying that u dont vomit. And sugar free everything. Yuk..... Rt now I just hate my choice I was never a big eater which I was told that y im over weight pepsi and late night eating after going all day without. Now im still going all day without. It is heartbreaking and frustrating, ppl should no the ups n the downs at this point there are more downs for me... -
If You Had The Choice - Would You Do It Again?
laurar1husband replied to Babysteppin's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Absolutely NOT, glad to hear all the success stories keep up good work, but there is no way I would do this to myself nor my family if I had it to do again. Ok I am 41 3kids and married. 5'4 286# was my highest weight had surgery july 24th tired all the time, cant sleep except flat on my bk. Living in fear what to eat what to drink, worry more about food than I ever have, gas only have 1bm a week. Scared to enjoy myself outside bc leaks n infections, scared to be intimate with spouse besides no sdrive. Skin dry had to go to er heart problems never had heart problems before. No if loosing weight was going to make me miserable and suck all enjoyment out of living. I would rather be fat and happy. N yes I was happy. I had the surgery bc I wanted to be healthy an enjoy life more. All I had was migraines, guess what I still do. Plus heart issues only since surgery. Each person has their on opinion, this is just mine. My mother was considering it I said no. I will walk with her cook for her, join gym with her just plz no. so yes I have lost 40# but there is no other up side for me. So be sure to consider all options and whatever your choice is it is the rest of your life.. Good luck. -
The Most Embarrassing Fat Moment....
laurar1husband replied to Sannah's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
My mother n law when talking about me call me "big girl" and they laugh as if it is amusing. N then when I go to family gatherings on their side I just never eat. I really hate when other large ppl look at you n tell u that you are gaining weight. When u know ur the same size u were the last time you seen them, not to mention ur still not there size. So I just smile go to my car go home,n cry all night. Why are we so insensitive to each other.. -

Soooo Annoying!
laurar1husband replied to Mimismom's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I know the feeling. I was told by nut n dr that protien helps with healing process, even though u feel bettet on somedays remember it will take atleast 6weeks to get your, body back to normal. The surgery was major. Take it easy watch rapid movements. I hate feeling this way. But I will take it one day at a,time. -
It is difficult really feeling tired cannot get protiens or vitamins down. Drink lots of water. Pounds include preop diet. Went from 283 to 262. Still have good n bad days but its looking up. I got unplugged from all tubes, balls n wires yeahhh! Its hard but so worth it. Even when I feel as though I made a mistake. In my heart I know I done what was best for me n my family.

Ok, I'm Freaking Out!
laurar1husband replied to smartypants's topic in Tell Your Weight Loss Surgery Story
Smartypants I understand. I just got sleeved on 24th. At that moment I was wondering if I was doing the rt thing and was it for the rt reasons. Surgery went well. Up and walking the same day now I am at hm all I want to do is be able to drink a glass of ice water. I cannot of course. I am frustrated, gassy, tired, and discouraged. But I still cannot wait to start seeing results. Yes I am sore but not to the point I cant stand it just like I have had another csection. So whatever you decide understand that what u r feeling is normal. -
