Substitue For Tylenol (Which Is Off Shelves)
SibleyNP replied to Domika03's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You could also purchase liquid ibuprofen, which is the same Motrin. My surgeon suggested to alternate liquid pain med and the liquid ibuprofen!! -
Had to have mine fixed otherwise the band would not fit. Its great having it fixed, no more Prilosec. Yeah!!

Surgeryloans.com or MedicalFinancing.com; I used medical financing for my loan 2 weeks ago. The whole process went smooth and very helpful. The Nurse practitioner at my surgeons office recommended either one of these. Miranda

3 Days Post Op Tmi Question
SibleyNP replied to caseyp's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
When I was on full liquids, I had pudding, Protein shakes, creamed soup, cooked Cereal, milk, low fat yogert. I also love the BariWise flavored Protein drinks, such as lemonade, rasp lemonade, orange, grape. They are awesome. Also love the unjury protien shakes. MAke them into smoothies or add frozen fruit and blend and then put them in popsicle molds and into the freezer for a great treat! Miranda -
Jschulgs, Would you like me to provide you with more information on the Do's and don'ts??? I'm a nurse practitioner and I have people tell me all the time "I can't have this fruit b/c it is high in sugar or carbs." U have to realize that it is a natural sugar, a God given sugar and nothing that has processed or refined in the ingredients Miranda

I was told 64 oz. I'm a nurse practitioner, if I can't drink 100 oz of water a day, then I wouldn't ask my patients to either.

The rule for all eating is Protein first!! I got a sample meal plan book from my dietician. Here is meal plan #1 - Breakfast - - - whole wheat toast (1/4 slice), 1 scrambled egg, banana (1/4 small) lunch - - - whole wheat toast (1/4 slice), low fat cheese (2 oz), cooked carrots (2 tbsp) dinner - - - brown rice (2 tbsp), chicken (2oz), cooked beets (2 tbsp) This is my stage 3 or soft diet. I will be on this type of diet for 4 weeks. After the 4 weeks then I can progress to eating regularly!! If you would like anymore info, just let me know!! Always remember PROTEIN first!! You can do it!! Miranda

Love your amazing attitude. Admitting our failures takes courage and strength, but the next step is moving forward and learning from what we did wrong. I give you so much applause for telling us your story and moving forward. You ARE NOT a failure. I love that after this little bump in the road, you are not going to give up!! Miranda

Well its been 7 days since surgery. I am currently down 15 pounds and can hardly believe it. Should I be concerned? I now move to soft foods for 4 weeks. Now instead of 6 meals its down to 3 meals a day. I am really happy about the weight loss but at the same time nervous that its not going to stay off or I will start to gain weight once I start eating. I hope these are normal feelings. I am feeling really well. Have taken pain medicine only once today. Getting all my Water intake daily also helps me feel well also. Thanks for reading and offering any support or advice it appreciated!! Miranda

Well, I am post op day 5 and down 10 pounds. I was absolutely thrilled. I know some of the loss is Water loss, but it gives me the confidence that I can do this. Another milestone today, went and got groceries. For a year or more my ritual has been that after I get groceries, make a run through McDonalds. NOT today!! Drove right by !! This is the first of many more milestones to come. Soooo excited!! Miranda

I was told that I could have pasta, but has to be whole grain pasta. By the way it is very good. I can have whole grain bread. BUT, it has to be very small portions with eating your protein first. Hope this helps, and don't get discouraged.

Well finally feel well enough to be on the support group today. Surgery was yesterday, went well and he also fixed my hiatal hernia. Lots of pain and nausea yesterday and much more manageable to day. Trying to stay on top of my pain medications. Struggling to get my 6 small meals in a day. On full liquids for a week. Is this normal not to get all your meals in?? Trying to stay hydrated. Thanks for the support and any tips post op is greatly appreciated !!

Just wondering if anyone else will be banded on August 3rd? So excited and scared at the same time. Like many of us, we have tried every diet out there, not suceeded, and are afraid of failure. I will admit this is my BIGGEST fear. Failure. Any postings on how to mentally get past this, would love to hear your comments.
