My Fellow 9/4 (Or Last Week) Sleevers - How Are You Doing ?
suepeeps replied to Odee's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am down 38 since surg on 9-6. 58 since my highest. I just started to shed hair but I have enough hair for 10 people so I'm not too worried. I have been approved to eat anything. I always eat my Protein first and get about 800-900 calories a day. Usually 60-70g of protein. Some days I feel hungry. On those days I grab some protein and feel much better. I exercise 3-4 days a week. My hip has been bothering me. Odd that it would start after losing 50 pounds! I feel fabulous! So many things are much easier. Loving my sleeve!!!! -
Worried About Not Being A Loser!
suepeeps replied to connie3's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I think we all felt that way! It is fun to watch it melt off. I am a slow loser but I'm ok with that. Hopefully my skin will not be as flabby (at least I hope) The weight will definately come off with the amount of food we are consuming! Good luck -
The World According To Eggface is an awesome blog of a gal who had bariatric surgery. She has great recipes!

2 months for me. I have never craved a salad. I love them but have never craved one until I couldn't have them! So happy when I could. I have one almost every day now.

I have said this before on this forum The BEST advise I was given was... NEVER EVER trust a fart! A liquid diet changes everything!!! Sharts happen. lol It gets better when you get on solids. I luckily didn't have much of a problem with gas. My belly made a ton of noise! It wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be

suepeeps replied to Boofster's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I wish! I am 2 1/2 months out and still hot! I am at that age..... Looking forward to being cool. I am not as sweaty as I used to be but still warm most of the time. -
Is Tylenol Pm Safe?
suepeeps replied to BioEngineeringChick's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I took Tylenol PM about 1 1/2 months out and did just fine. I think it is just the advil/aleve that you can't take. -
Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
suepeeps replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am eating so much healthier than I was pre sleeve. I ate a lot of fast food, processed food and just plain junk! I am now preparing my meals ahead of time and loving it. I think my nutrition is much better now! I was also not taking vitamins before. Kinda surprised I'm still alive... lol -
I got some recipes from The World According To Eggface. The baked ricotta was my fav!

To Count Or Not To Count
suepeeps replied to newgrandmother's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
my NUT said the best thing about this surgery is that you never have to count calories again. Make sure you get 60+ g of protein in and just keep sugars and fats low. No more counting calories. WOOHOO I know there is not much room for more calories anyway! -
nope. My dr had me take prilosec for 2 months because it helps you stomach to heal. I have not taken them since then and no problems
-
It depends on your Dr. My clinic went by the bmi of the initial visit. She said some are different.

When Could You Swallow Pills?
suepeeps replied to Lovemylife's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Most of my pills are small so I never crushed them. They gave them to me whole in the hospital. I did have to empty the capsule of prilosec but only for a week or so. I am 2 1/2 months out and can now swallow big pills. -
I walked right out of my slip on shoes! Looks like I wear my walking shoes if I go out!

I was sleeved on 9/6. I was approved for all foods at my 2 month checkup

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
suepeeps replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
If we have to lose hair why can't it be on our legs and underarms...... just sayin' -
I have that too!! I wonder why that is. I did not have it before surgery. It is worse in the evenings when I walk for a long distance during the day. I plan on asking my Dr but it sure is interesting that others have it too!

Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
suepeeps replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I am SO looking forward to Thanksgiving! I plan to have a bite of my fav things. I know it will satisfy me. 2bites of turkey to 1 bite of something else....that is my plan. My favorite thing is that I wont feel like a stuffed pig and gain weight. Loving my sleeve! -

suepeeps replied to hopeful77's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
So sorry you are not doing well. It gets easier with time. I know that's not what you want to hear Just know I am sending positive vibes your way!!! Keep us updated! -
I got so frustrated I had hubby hide the scale! Now I weigh once a week. I am the type of loser that will stall for a long time, then drop 4 pounds overnight. Its crazy!! So much less stress weighing once a week!
