Surgery scheduled! Normal to feel like I want to eat like a pig until then?
suepeeps replied to Jenny12's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had tons of food funerals before surgery. It was weird because the closer I got to surgery the less I wanted to eat... I did stick to my 10 day liquid diet before pre op. It was almost a relief to start the liquids after all the food funerals! lol -
Most important preop question of all...
suepeeps replied to orthoman's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am just over 3 months out. I see the foods that I love and am completely satisfied after taking just 1 bite! I never believed this would happen for me. Last night a friend (who was sleeved on Oct 30) and I went to the support group meeting. It is about 1 1/2 hrs away so we went out to dinner afterwards. We ordered the shrimp appetizer. It had 8 medium sized shrimp. We each ate only 4 and were stuffed. As we saw plates going by with mountains of food we both commented on what an incredilble amount of food it was and it was hard to believe we ever ate that much! My problem has always been portion control and the sleeve has absoultely solved that problem for me. This is the best decision I have ever made! Keep a positive attitude and just follow the directions of the bariatric team. I have never thrown up or felt sick. It has been so good for me. I am so happy and wish I would have done it long ago! Good luck to you. -
What are your favorite add-ins to protein shakes?
suepeeps replied to lucky8mb1's topic in Protein, Vitamins, and Supplements
I love PB2 (powdered peanut butter) and a t of SF chocolate pudding. (torani SF carmel is great in that) SF pistacio pudding with vanilla powder YUMMY SF cheesecake pudding with vanilla powder and blueberries I just add 1 t of the SF puddings. All of the Torain SF syrups are a nice flavor for shakes. -

Is anyone sorry they did it?
suepeeps replied to melsue's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not even 1 minute of regret! I am also happy about the 6 months of NUT visits pre op. I wasn't happy at the time but now that I am 3 months out I realize how beneficial they really were. I have felt great since the day of surgery! Loving my sleeve. Especially during this holiday season! -
Post Op September Sleevers, Roll Call
suepeeps replied to newgrandmother's topic in Gastric Sleeve Surgery Forums
I have been walking 3-4 x a week for about 60 min. I live in MN and it is now cold. No problem... I just bundle up. Today the walking path had lots of icy patches and some snow. I did fine but my dogs were walking on 3 legs after a while. BUMMER. I may get them some little shoes so they can continue to go with me. Does anyone else have problems with hemmorhoids??? I have had one that is really bothering me for the last 2 weeks. I am not constipated and am very regular. UGH Sorry TMI.... Other than that I am feeling awesome!! I tried on some pants a couple of weeks ago and they were too snug. Tried them on today and they are baggy. I have only lost about 5-7 pounds since then. Lovin my sleeve!!!! -
So scared I don't think I can do it!
suepeeps replied to Melanie Gilgan's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I am 3 months out and have NO regrets. This is the best thing I ever did. I went into this with a positive attitude. Followed all the directions from my NUT and Dr. The pain was less than a bad case of the flu for me! I only took pain meds for 1 week and it could have been less than that but I wanted to make sure I felt good Stay positive. It makes a huge difference in healing. You will do great and feel so wonderful. This is the best! I love my sleeve. SO looking forward to the holidays and not overeating for the first time!!!! -

I found the jelly at a local gift shop that has unique things. I have seen it at a kitchen store in a touristy area too. I am guessing you could look online too.

12 days post op, need some help
suepeeps replied to mamakate78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same problem. I used almond milk and it was better. I kept trying regular milk just to get the extra protein and it did get better as time went on. Those drinks for the first month or so would send me straight to the bathroom!! -
I put just a dab of roasted onion and garlic jelly on it. Pop it in the toaster oven for a couple of minutes and it is fantastic!! Serve with a few crackers. I just eat very few crackers. It is quite a treat!

Welcome! So sorry to hear about your leak. You will be feeling so much better soon! -
Last night at our support group I asked about the hip pain. She said it is VERY common. It usually happens between a loss of 50-75 pounds. Your body is adjusting to how you move your muscles. It often causes hip, knee or lower back pain. Many people in the room said they had it too. One gal said she would just tip over for no reason. lol The Dr she works for said her center of gravity had changed so quickly that her body was still adjusting. The good news is that it gets better fairly quickly. Good to know!

I thought many of us on this forum would appreciate this!!! So fitting for the first couple of months after surgery! lol
