Maddysgram replied to smellslikecoffee's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Late to the party, but T&P coming your way! Speedy recovery & great success! -
Hi Elcee, how you doing? Don't see you much.Hope all is well! At the end of her statement she says Dr want protein and low carb, so it turns out to be not just protein but fruits & veggies too.

Congratulations! I couldn't run if I was on fire. I'd have to "stop, drop&roll".lol Maybe after knee replacement, I don't know.I'd settle for a brisk walk. Keep up the good work, next thing you'll be telling us is your doing a half marathon.

How Often Do You Weigh In?
Maddysgram replied to Jenilou78's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Sounds like you may obsess about the scale either way, whether your weighing every day or not! Why don't you stick it out these next 5 days and see what happens. You might be pleasantly surprised! This is when you're going to get answers either way. Personally, I do weigh every morning, but I don't obsess about a small gain or no loss. It all evens out! -
Well my pamphlet right from the Lap Band manufacturer says your Dr is right! I quit Dt soda 7wks ago and I can honestly say I do not miss it. My skin is a lot clearer and smoother, my bladder function is better, really! Diet soda is just a bunch of chemicals & food coloring, how can it be good for you?

PS try to live like you're in "bandster hell" again. Just like those of us that haven't reached our green zone yet. Doing the LB rules with no restriction. You can do it! Track your food(I use MyFitnessPal) take small bites, 1 per min and allow only 20 mins to eat. 3 oz Protein first , 1/4 veggies & 1/4 good carbs. Best wishes!

This is one pf those cases where you have to live one day at a time. Focus on what you can do today to give you the best shot in healing and not think about tomorrow. I know that stress does tighten my band, my in laws could get my band so tight without 1cc of fill in it.So try to relax, deep breath, listen to calming music, whatever it takes. #2, you have to ask yourself, why did Dr#1 leave? Maybe having trouble?. To me new Dr sounds more like what my Dr says and you do have to trust in your Dr. Did you do any research on new Dr? I'm really sorry you are going through all this and pray it all comes out well! Keep us posted!

Excitement & nerves are all part of it. How nice that your godmother is stepping in for your mother. I bet your mom will be beside herself, that she's not there. It won't be long now! Just focus on the prize and not the surgery. Congratulations!

The good thing is, every time you get up to pee, you're walking. Walkings good, walkings good!lol -
We're all here to help and support you. If you have been backsliding, you need to go back to your Dr & nutritionist and ask them how they can help you. Who knows, you might need a fill. Go back to LB rules- 1cup of food per meal 3-4oz of protein always eat first 1/4c. veggies 1/4 good carbs Drink at least 64 oz of water, No sliders. Small bites 1 min apart, 20 mins to eat total meal and if you're not done tough, you're done! You can do this! Follow the rules! Find your wantpower, it's got to be stronger than your willpower. Do you want it? Go get it! Best Wishes!

Welcome to the forum! Well what I can tell you is everyone here has been where you are, killing ourselves with weight and wanting to become healthier. You've come to the right place for knowledge, inspiration & support. Great group of ppl here. Have you gone to a LB seminar yet? How about insurance? I've been stalking these boards for over 8mths now and was only recently banded , Oct.15. I really believe this will work, if we work with the band. The band is a tool, not a magic potion. It will help you, but you have to help it and you do that by following your Drs. orders, and learn all you can before having the surgery. Post often so we can get to know you. Everyone will be happy to help you with your questions. Best wishes on your journey to new health!

I was give a pamphlet and enough info to fill a 3 ring notebook . I'm really sorry Destynee that you didn't get that, but I know everything will work out and you'll find the right Nut to help you and you will succeed. xoxoxoxoxo

I really can't believe you were given LBS and not given any dietary advise! That stinks!

Best thing to do is call or email your insurance company and ask them. That's what I did and they sent a whole list of things I needed to do and have to qualify. Every Ins. is different. I have Aetna and Arthritis was not considered a co-mobility . Asthma was It was B/P, Cholesterol , sleep apnea & asthma. If your BMI was below 40, you have to have two, over 40 none, but like I said that's Aetna. Your BMI 36.3 Good luck!

My first fill was 3cc. Yet again all Drs are different. You really don't want to get a huge fill b/c you could blow right past your green zone. My Dr said the average fill to green zone is usually between 4 cc-7.5cc
-
After googling this, I think I would talk to a nutritionist that is on your insurance plan. You know what they say about always getting a second opinion. Don't rush into this, do your research.

I tell you Destynee, I would really like to see some responses to this. I never heard of it. Isn't HCG a hormone they inject you with?

Banded Today
Maddysgram replied to JerseyShoreDisneyDiva's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
First 48 hrs felt like I was hit by a bus. You should take meds on time, wait to long and it doesn't work as well. Keep walking and get some rest! You'll feel much better by this weekend. -
I've heard quite a few on here saying that's happened. Take care!

That's great! You will succeed if you continue to work with your caregivers. They, just like us want you to reach your goals! Best wishes!

Hernia Pain In Back!
Maddysgram replied to Banditiff's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had hernia repair with my LBS and healed the same as not having a hernia. My Dr said the swelling from the surgery itself would be the worst for 48 hrs. Is this pain worse after you eat? I don't think your pain is from hernia repair. You need to call your Dr and ask them about it. -
