What's Your Current Band And Fill Size?
Maddysgram replied to Banderina's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
You are doing great! 22 lbs in 2 mths averages out to 11 lbs per month, so that exceeds 1-2 lbs a week. Try to to compare yourself to everyone else. Everyone is different. I'm doing the same as you, sticking to 1 cup, using MFP and staying at 1000 cal.. Don't be hard on yourself! -
It takes longer to digest solid foods than liquids. I never liked yogurt either until I tried Oikos Key Lime with pecans crushed on top, mmmmm, my new fave. Maybe you need to speak with a nutritionist so they can help you choose a plan that works around your diet? Best wishes on your journey!

You're doing great! It could take several fills to get enough restriction to keep you satisfied with what you're eating, but keep on this course. When you get hungry between meals drink a lot of fluids, also try to keep yourself busy, it does help. Keep it up ! -
MD, did she put you on just liquids for a couple of days? I did 48 hrs liquids, 2 days mushies and added back solids very slowly. My band did not get angry until 4 days later. Work that protein and drink that water!

First appointment was today!
Maddysgram replied to ireallywannabthin's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
Sounds great! I had the 6mths supervised diet and it gave me plenty of time to study the does & don'ts of the LBS. Don't worry, excitement & nerves are all part of the process. Very excited for you! -
Yes, meat, fish, eggs. All the food you're eating is more like slider food. Aren't you allowed solid foods yet?

Eyes bigger than my pouch

I weigh my meat and measure everything else. Don't know if that's right, but so far it's working. -
It will all work out girlfriend!

ITCHY ITCHY! HELP!!
Maddysgram replied to Marybell's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I had the same thing with bandages. They actually burned into my skin. It's ok to go without bandages, but leave the steri-strips in place. I was told to wash and dry well, but not to put anything on it. As soon as bandages came off, they got better. Good Luck! -
Why not insurance approval prior?

You're ok, it's better to ask questions than going in blind. -

Tell you when I get there! My Dr said on average it takes between 4 cc- 7.5cc. I drink Chai tea and SF hot chocolate to get between meals and also have cleaned every closet, dresser, painted laundry room, clean cabinets anything to keep busy enough to not watch the clock. Best Wishes

Who you calling ugly??LOL Banded Oct 15 and very satisfied with the band. Everyone gave you great advice and I hope you take it. It's not an easy fix (like some think) It takes work. Like AJ said, do your homework, read everything about the band, hang out here and learn from the successes and also the failures. I spent 7mths here before banding and I'm very thankful I did. I owe a lot to the peeps of LBT.Com! Best Wishes! Keep us posted -
Why not insurance approval prior?
Maddysgram replied to oklafarmgal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Just an after thought I was really happy that I had to go through all this testing because it gave me time to learn all I could about LBS and I believe it put me in a better position to succeed. Thanks to everyone on LBT.Com I had the best on-line education! -
Why not insurance approval prior?
Maddysgram replied to oklafarmgal's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
That's what I did. I contacted my insurance company and they sent me the criteria for what my weight, health issues and testing I had to do. My Bariatric office also got that from my insurance company. So insurance Company approved my going forward and then all the paperwork was sent in for final approval and my insurance company paid for all the testing. -

Polly, what happen? I changed my picture and it worked. -
You're in "Bandster Hell" right now. Gotta keep to that one cup servings until you get enough restriction and that could take a few fills to accomplish. CG is right and you need to eat more protein to keep you full. Right now veggies won't do it. I had my first fill 2wks ago and I'm right where you are. We can do this! I have the want to, do you?
