2nd fill in 7 1/2 months
Maddysgram replied to Anume 937's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Any loss is a good loss. Your Dr sounds very conservative. If this fill doesn' t work I would insist on another fill in a month. 7 mths between fills , presuming you had one at 6wks,seems along time. Congrats on WL! -
do you ever get reflux or throw up?
Maddysgram replied to BQT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
You are probably right! -
It's like them saying you need to eat Breakfast 30 mins after getting up. I don't want to eat for about 2hrs after getting up.

Polly you're back, sort of!

do you ever get reflux or throw up?
Maddysgram replied to BQT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Well if it's b/c you're "really hungry and eat really big bites", that kinda explains it. Stop doing that!lol Still would mention it to your Dr though. Bee Well -
My Dr told me not to eat if I wasn't hungry, said when my body needed it ,it would let me know. I can not force myself to swallow anything if I'm not hungry. He told me I could drink up to eating, but I think I need to stop at least 30mins before b/c I think that's what fills me. Haven't seen Nut in 3 mths. Like aj says, I think we have to do what works for us.Right now this is working for me, but if it stops I'll have to talk with the Nut.

Now I was told, don't eat if you're not hungry other days 3 meals a day ,most days don't have snacks

Week 1 liquid diet pout
Maddysgram replied to J_Rob's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
2 mths out here and my stomach still growls. Have not got enough fills for restriction yet. I like my stomach growling it lets me know I'm burning fat. I know I'm weird! I really wish you would not be eating anything not on your plan. You could cause some real damage if your stomach is churning and trying to digest that food. Plus if you're eating chips & biscuits you're setting yourself up for bad eating habits. It's too soon! When I has hungry between meals I drink Hot Chai tea or sf hot chocolate and that helped. Pretty soon you should be able to start drinking as much water as you want. I think I was just restricted for the first week and now I can gulp down water with no problem. 1st week cold water did hurt my stomach, needed room temp. Just drink as much as you can between meals, that alone should keep you feeling full. Bee Healthy! -
I forgot to answer your questions, to busy welcoming you. I eat 1/2 to 1 cup of food 3 times a day. If I get real hungry between meals I have hot Chai tea or sf hot chocolate and that always keeps me going until next meal. Good luck on you journey!

Hey there, Hi there, Ho there Congratulations on being banded! Two weeks out is when you really start feeling good again. I'm 2mths out and living in "Bandster Hell" until I get enough fills for restriction. I'm sure you're still a little swollen and doubt you have a huge appetite yet. Stick to your Drs plan you still have some healing to do. Bee Healthy!

do you ever get reflux or throw up?
Maddysgram replied to BQT's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not to scare you, but reflux can lead to erosion of the esophagus, which can lead to cancer of the throat. See your Doctor, please! The reason I know this is because before banding I had "silent reflux" didn't know it and my esophagus was eroded and they were afraid I had cancer from it. I had to take two Prilosec a day to get rid of it. -

Thank you, but an apology was needed. I went off the deep end. I guess I was trying to shock you into reality and I'm much to worn out to be diplomatic tonight. I do consider you a friend and I don't want you to think you can not post your concerns. I'll be so glad when we get into the green zone. I keep thinking, well it took me 7mths to get banded and that went by fast, so if it takes 6mths to hit green zone, that won't be too bad. Wishful thinking! A year from now we'll be sitting back laughing about how crazy "bandster hell" made us. God Bless! -

I came back to apologize. I flew off the handle and I'm sorry. I'm not usually like that and I guess being hungry too makes you cranky. This isn't an excuse but my granddaughter was in the ER all day today, she has multiple health issues and we live one day at a time with her. I came on here tonight to be uplifted and it really went sour fast. Like Missy said, so many post just like this and it is like WTH! I truly do believe you can do this and I do want you to succeed ! We're in this together! I hope you accept my apology! Dr Phil said today when you type something on a forum, go get a drink and reread before sending. I wish I had listened to his advice. -

You know I'm where you're at. I've talked with you many a time trying to encourage you to hang on. Trying to give you idea's on how to stop the hunger between meals. I've only had one fill the end of Nov, next one Jan 6th and yes, I do get hungry between meals. So I do understand and it's not about willpower, it's about wantpower. How bad do you want to lose weight? Bad enough to stick to Drs orders and eat your allotted meals? It aggravates me when ppl barely out of their 6wk healing phase and boohooing that the band isn't working for them. It wasn't meant to work right out of the gate and it's really a shame that the surgeons doing these procedures are not explaining this well enough. We're in "Bandsters Hell", either deal with it, or give up. I choose to deal with it! For heavens sake, none of us are going to starve to death, we have too much fat to live off. Every time my stomach growls, it's like ok burn that fat baby! Now I believe you can do this. I know I am going to do this!!!! Like CG, I'm sticking to my Drs plans and yes I am losing weight, but not b/c I have restriction. It's because I have WANTPOWER. I want this more than anything. Between a car accident and needing double knee replacement, pain so bad I'd rather die than live like this. This is my only hope and I refuse to blow it. God pretty much threw this in my face, made it happen, made my wish come true, gave me signs it was the right path. I'm not going to let Him down either. He & I are in this together! Now darnit, put your big boy pants on and deal with it! I know I'm going to get blasted for this, but I think sometimes being direct is the only way, considering I've talked with you many times already. May God Bless & keep you! -
Missy is right, educate yourself and see if you can work this band. If you follow some of the threads just from today you will see there are ppl here who have had the surgery and have no clue how it works. Don't be like that. Get books, hang out here reading threads and asking questions. You do all that and yes, the band will work for you. Bee Knowledgeable!
