Looking for a local buddy
Maddysgram replied to VictoriousPassion's topic in LAP-BAND Surgery Forums
I can't make it to Louisville, but I'd be happy to support you here. Congratulations on your upcoming surgery! 2013 is going to be an awesome year for you. Keep posting so we can get to know you and ask any questions you might have. -
I am literally sick to my stomach by the few accusing veteran banders for not being supportive. I guess they all get on here just to mess with ppl.

You're right about "big commitment", that it is. There are some who don't succeed at no fault of their own, b/c of malfunction, or other health issues. But a large majority is non-compliance.IMO I've been on this forum for 9mths now and just reading some post, you can tell who are screwing up and who have their head in the game. This post is going to set off a fire storm, so hold on to your hat!

Carolinagirl, I believe Alex said this same thing the other day."If you don't like what you read, move on" it is an open forum for thoughts/ opinion no need for ppl to get nasty. Like my momma always said "if you can't say anything nice, don't say anything at all". Golden Rule lets live by it! BTW offering advice does not qualify as "not saying anything nice". WHERE DID THESE FEW FORUM POLICE COME FROM?

WOW! Someone needs a Prozac Sorry Chez I for one want to thank you along with all the other successful banders for educating me and making it possible for me to succeed. I owe you all a lot.

Need help feeling down
Maddysgram replied to Virtiouswoman's topic in POST-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
you don't want to do that, follow your Drs plan. Anyways sometimes it takes a few fills before the band kicks in. Just go with the flow and everything will work out. Promise! -

Maddysgram replied to finallytime's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Yes this is correct. I didn't know this after my surgery and I was sooo bloated from to much water to fast. This will past quicker than anything else. Hang in there. 2mths out and can chug water if I want. -
WTG POLLY! So proud of you. Congratulations!

Anybody miss a month of the required 6 mo Dr supervised diet
Maddysgram replied to SnapIGotThis's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
I almost missed a month by 1wk b/c my Dr was away and bariatric staff went crazy saying you can't miss one month. We called my PCP right from Bari Office and asked to see who was covering for my PCP and just made it. But all insurances are different and I would give them a call and ask. -
Having EGD Monday. Pain????
Maddysgram replied to NewLifeRight's topic in PRE-Operation Weight Loss Surgery Q&A
Not at all. I had two of them before banding and there's nothing to it. You go in with an empty stomach, change into gown and have all your vitals taken and hook up to monitors. They put you out and the next thing you know they're saying time to wake up. You get dress and go home. Absolutely no pain at all. I even had biopsies taken and had no ill effects from that. Don't give it a second thought -
My lapband brochure says that if you over eat or over drink it can cause nausea too. Being dehydrated can cause nausea, stomach bug or antibiotics like Chez said. There are many things that could cause it and I guess your Dr is the best to advice you. Hope you feel well soon.

So glad you didn't have to get an unfill. I keep hearing ppl say that your band is not the same after an unfill. But now you won't have to find out. You will be in my thoughts & prayers Tuesday.

You got one very smart band! Hope she has a better day tomorrow.

Picked my 8 yo grandson up from school today . Took him to Micky D's and Christmas shopping and every time I looked at him I was so thankful to still have him and so heart broken for the family's that are not going to have their love ones come home today. I can't even imagine the pain they are going through. My heart would literally break. Father God almighty may your love and mercy touch these families, may they be comforted in knowing millions of people are mourning for them and with them. Father please erase the horror these young children witnessed today and comfort them with the thought that their friends are now in a place of peace. Lord we all need your help and wisdom on how to see that this never happens again. We know to everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born, and a time to die, a time to kill and a time to heal , a time to laugh and a time to grieve.Help us through these times Father. In Jesus Name Amen

In this case when the end of the thread is "I need help" that's what is give. I am a friend of OP and I talked with him as I would my best friend. Ask CG, when I tell her to shut up and put your big girl panties on, she knows its in love.Thats the problem with writing replys, you don't get tone of voice , body language or feelings. Like real life personalities clash sometimes. I for one would not bother being on here if not to try and help someone. I too am just 2mths out not in green zone and just share what helps me. You can take it or not Love & good wishes to all my bandy's -
